Flooring reviews in Fogelsville

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • My husband and I wanted work done to update our early 90's master bathroom and a half bathroom. Originally, we had a big name local contractor out to the house for an estimate on what it would cost to renovate these rooms. Not only was that contractor quoting us an outrageous price- we also realized that we wouldn't be able to have much say in the design. I wanted to be able to pick out everything from the vanity to the faucets and tiles...so we passed on the contractor company and found Kenny on Angie's List, and I'm glad we did! My husband and Kenny arranged a time for him to stop by and look at what we wanted him to do and he was prompt in getting back to us and even took his shoes off when he first came by! If you're looking to do the design yourself but just need someone to install it, Kenny is your man! We had a huge 2 sink vanity and ugly linoleum floors and he removed everything pretty quietly and fast. He also takes care of removing and disposing of the old stuff that was demolished. Kenny is neat and keeps his work areas clean when he leaves for the day. Keep in mind that Kenny is pretty much a one man operation (at least with our job)...and that he doesn't have a secretary around the clock returning calls and checking his emails. It could take some time to get a response back but he always kept in touch with us, even if he was unable to make it (which was only 1 time). Life happens and we totally understood that he was unable to make it that day. I can't understand why any of the reviews for Kenny's work have been given a grade any lower than a "B". Maybe the nitpickers should've called the local contractor company that I didn't  hire?! Kenny is a human being, not a huge corporation like Walmart! Some of the poor graded reviews for him on here are ridulous and petty. Along the way we purchased and returned some things from Lowe's and Home Depot and we had no problems returning those items (even with a lost receipt!) If you take in the items you are returning and have them swipe the card that was used to purchase the items they have no problem with returns. Kenny noticed that one of the toilets we purchased from Lowe's came with a broken toilet seat and he set it aside for us to return, we took it back to Lowe's and they gave us a brand new toilet seat. Again, stuff happens! I didn't blame Kenny for us buying a bum toilet! Kenny showed up at exactly 8am every morning just like he said he would and he got along well with our 3 dogs. Since I am somewhat handy around the house, I decided to do the painting in both bathrooms...so along with my decorating skills and Kenny's handyman skills- I ended up with my dream bathrooms! Kenny was super polite every day and I wish I had the option to post the photos of our beautiful bathroom!

  • It took longer than expected, but most of that was the cabinet supplier's fault. First they sent a cabinet that was not the size ordered. It took a week to get the correct cabinet, but FedEx put it on the wrong truck, so that cost another day, and then when it arrived, it was damaged, so ANOTHER cabinet had to be ordered, which took another week. Altogether, that mistake cost about 3 weeks of delay.
Bella Casa did an excellent job. They began a bit later than expected because of existing workload, but once they started, they worked diligently (except for the cabinet delay). The plumbing and electrical contractors were efficient and courteous. The folks who did the wall framing, ductwork, and cabinet installation were meticulous and courteous as well. They cleaned up pretty well at the end of each day. Their attention to detail satisfied me, and I'm pretty picky. For example, the mitered joints for the door frames and crown moulding were perfect.
There was only one snag, and that was that our slide-in stove apparently did not have the height adjustment they expected (although they could have read the installation instructions ahead of time). This resulted in the quartz counter being 1/2" too low for the proper stove installation. This was discovered after the counter and tile backsplash were already installed. At first, they just took the adjustable feed off the stove. I was not satisfied with this, because the under-oven drawer dragged on the floor.
I feared I would get serious pushback from them, but they agreed with no argument to tear out the tile, remove the counter, raise it the necessary 1/2", and re-do all the tile work. They realized it was the right way to do it, and my wife and I are completely satisfied with the results.
Spiro, Faye, and the rest of the staff were very responsive to our requests and questions as the project progressed. Emails were returned in less than a day, and I received phone calls to inform me when an important phase of the job would begin. We made a few changes along the way, and they were prompt and upfront in informing us of the cost. There were no hidden surprises.

  • At first, we were told that there would be a 3 to 4 month wait before they could do the job, which was fine with us because we weren't in a hurry.  We were pleasantly surprised, then, that they were ready to go just a month after they quoted the job.  They were SUPER detail-oriented, and treated the job as if they were doing in it their own homes.  They came on time and stayed late to finish the job on time.  The guys who did the stairs were particularly skilled and careful.  They did a beautiful job.  The price was about where I thought it would be, given the wood we chose, and we didn't mind paying for floors that should outlive us.  If you do it right, you only have to do it once.

  • I went to Eisenhard's after having a frustrating experience not receiving professional treatment by several tile-installers I called (they did not get back to us after initially showing interest in doing the work). The Eisenhard's employees were very helpful in guiding us to choose the right tile for the area, and the owner, Joe, gave us an estimate within just a few days. We did not need to wait long for installation either. The installer, Ken Rogers, did a great job, and even worked without any sleep one day so he can finish the job quickly for us. We are extremely pleased with Eisenhard's promptness, excellent service and professionalism, and we plan to have them install more flooring in the future.

  • Joe was able to start our job two weeks earlier than he had planned, which worked out great for us.  He started the job on a Friday and then I had to be out of town.  He returned on the following Monday-Tuesday-and Wednesday and finished the job for us.  He did a great job for us and seems to be a very trustworthy contractor.

  • He has done multiple projects for me at two residences.  One was a list of miscellaneous projects to get my prior house ready to sell, and then installing new flooring at the new house.  Everything  done has been done professionally.  Unlike other contractors I have used, he has stayed within budget unless something was changed at my request, usually last minute during other work, and he has always been very accommodating.  When I purchased the new house, we had a short time frame for him to get the new flooring in, and he actually finished ahead of schedule.  The only issue is that he tends to be booked a few weeks out, especially for big projects, so you have to make sure you plan ahead a bit.  Overall, his prices are very reasonable, the work done is very well done, and I have never been left unhappy.
