  • It went great! Ken and I agreed on a short set of concrete stairs with a drain at the bottom landing. That drain and my downspout near the push-out window were both routed to my main run-off piping further down in the yard - work completed via excavation. I requested that nicely dressed landscape block create sidewalls along the concrete steps. The basement door made from metal. The work was outstanding and we couldn't be happier. Ken and his team did this work in 2.5 days!! I was astonished at the efficiency and diligence of his guys. He and his team were professional, courteous, shook hands and made eye contact. Every day they were there, they worked solid and at the end of the day the work-site was immaculate. Literally folded tarps and equipment stowed neatly. Unbelievable! It really made me feel like he and his group are grateful for the work and respect the folks they work for. The finished product speaks for itself - I'm proud to show this work to anyone. I built a very nice custom home (Costa). I wanted the work to be impeccable and not detract from the beauty and quality of our home. This work only added to the value. If I need additional work along the general construction lines (like an addition), my first call will be to Ken. Only sorry I couldn't get this written sooner! Many thanks!!

  • After searching Angie's List for a HVAC contractor that was in my area, I then researched the brands that each carried. I called Kowalski Heating & Cooling who carried Lenox. Jason immediately called me back and we set up an appointment. He made himself available at a time that was convenient to me which was appreciated. When he came out to look at the areas, he explained everything to me in detail and the reason why he picked what he felt I needed, and answered all my questions. We set up the installation for August 15th and his crew (which were the nicest group of guys) arrived on time in the am and had completed the job which included drilling through block and stone to install new pipes, concreting old openings and installing the furnace and air conditioner. Everything was cleaned up and they took all of the old equipment and trash with them. I would definitely highly recommend Kowalski Heating & Cooling and plan on calling them in the future when I need a new water heater.

  • Went horribly. Tom told me he could get to my job in just two or three weeks. It was just now finished 3 months later. Retaining wall is not straight at all of you look at it from the end. The guys who were building it hit my house as well as a beautiful old brick planter box with their bobcat. He sent out a guy to repair it and it looked worse after he repaired it. Tom agreed to give me money back because of it, but now it looks horrible and will never look the same again. When I signed his estimate he assured me that planting grass after the excavation work was part of the deal. When it came time to plant he pretended he knew nothing about it and accused me of trying to take advantage of him. He eventually threw down some seed and straw but it was so sparsely seeded he might as well just have done nothing. I had to reseed myself. He left huge tire track marks in the back yard from the bobcat and never smoothed them out, just threw some grass seed and straw right over it. I had to call Tom probably 20 times over the course of 3 months. Whether it was trying to get him to start the work or to come resolve an issue, he would always say he was coming down then wouldn't show up. This happened probably 6-10 times where he promised he was coming or that someone was coming to do work and no one showed. He wasted a lot of mu time. No calls or heads up that there was a change of plan. The only good thing I can say is that they did a good job on the driveway and resolved some storm water issues I was having. Outside of that, by far the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. Don't waste your time or money on people who lie.

  • Unfortunately, Barry Carmello is just another contractor that can't be trusted. We have invested approximately $27,000.00 with Mr. Carmello for a driveway, walkway, and deck. While Mr. Carmello's concrete work is beautiful, our deck is unsafe, unsupported, and caving in. The deck shakes when you walk on it and is slowing sinking. It used to be level with our back porch, and after a year, there is a 2 inch gap, which our 2 and 5 year old are continually injuring themselves at. We called Mr. Carmello about 6 months after the completion of the deck regarding this matter. He came by when we were at work and shived a piece of plywood under the deck - needless to say, this did not fix the problem. We expressed this concern to Mr. Carmello and were told to wait until the spring and see what happened. We have repeatedly called and texted Mr. Carmello since April and were told he would "be out sometime next week." We are so disappointed with our unstable deck and Mr. Carmello's inability to provide us with a solution. Beware - he will tell you what you want to hear but does not care about the customer - once he has your money he doesn't care about the job being completed correctly.

  • George was at the house for about an hour and cleaned all of the gutters and downspouts. The house is two-story and on a very steep slope, so the back of the house is drastically higher from ground to roof than the front. Every other bid I received on gutter cleaning was $250. George charged me $55, cleared the gutters and downspouts, and told me if there were any issues to call him back immediately.

  • We hired Ed for a pre-dry wall on our new construction home. He was a pleasure to work with and was very attentive and knew what to look for. He also made a lot of good suggestions for the future of the house and the care of everything inside. His drone was cool and a plus too!

  • Without Ed's help, there were a number of items that would have gone unnoticed by ourselves and probably uncorrected by our project managers. He gave us a thorough overview of common problems to monitor and watch out for as construction progresses. He also supplied us with a bird's eye view of the house and surrounding neighborhood using his drone. We will most likely be hiring Ed again for the final inspection.

  • This was the second time I ha e called Bob and once again very impressed with him and the work that was done. Him and his crews are always professional and easy to work with. I feel his price can't be beat

  • The initial visit for the discussion of replacing our old roof revealed AMC Construction to be a very professional, courteous and honest company. After our decision to hire them, they did arrive on the designated date that was previously discussed and not only did they do an excellent job, with attention paid to detail, of removing the old roof and replacing it with a new roof, their clean up efforts afterward were also excellent. There was no sign left of any construction work left over after they finished.

  • From my initial contact with South Hills Electric until the electrician left, everything went better than I could have imagined! Their office contacted me immediately and worked with me to schedule a time and date. The electrician was on time and was very professional as well as very personable.
