Electrician reviews in Fairless Hills

  • Bottom line: great work, shortest lead time possible, lowest price, nice guy to work with We had multiple companies come out to give us quotes on do the electrical work in our kitchen. We started with a company out of Princeton, recommended by a friend, and were shocked by the price. We called another company out of Princeton who was even higher. Still searching, we tried an old local company near us. They were still out of the range we were looking to spend, but we were starting to get used to the idea that we might need to spend the kind of money these people were asking for. We decided call in an electrician from Pennsylvania, figuring they might be cheaper. They were higher still. We were going to give up, but somehow my wife found Alex at Borges Electric. He came over, gave me the lowest quote (by far) had an opening early the week (!!!) and gave me the sense that the job would be done right. I hired him and the work was done well and when promised. He was accommodating, not overcharging for some additional work, but was very reasonable in working with me when some aspects of the job were simpler than expected and some were more involved. I get the sense that many of the other companies would have taken a hard line on some issues and charged significantly more. I think Alex’s company will grow quite a bit over the coming years. Get him while you can!

  • As the business owner, Tristan, takes extreme pride in his work from start to finish. He does the quoting, supply runs, most of the labor, and does so quite promptly. He's a busy guy filling multiple roles in his business, and I admire his dedication to provide a high level of quality at a fair price. The remodeling work he performed in our kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room were done so at a high level of quality. He pays a lot of attention to the details and provides valuable feedback throughout the process. I would hire him for any further work we need in the future.

  • Matt and Mark were fantastic. Professional, courteous and very conscientious. As the removal and new installation began they explained everything. The new fan/light had a wall switch to be installed. Our Fairless Hills walls weren't deep enough to accommodate the new box, but they came up with a workable solution. Makefield Electric will be the only electricians we use in the future. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality work at a reasonable price.

  • I was above and beyond satisfied with this company. You can tell that this company goes out of its way make to put "the customer" first. All contact was extremely professional and personable. I originally bought a $29.00 diagnostic "check" from Angie's list because my heater stopped working. Luckily, it was a very warm week in February (60-70s) so it was not that urgent. I left a message on Sunday after buying the deal, and received a call first thing on Monday. They were able to send someone out that day.
The technician arrived on time and was extremely knowledgeable and friendly from the get go. When he arrived, he even pulled my empty trash can (it was trash collection day) up to the house for me, before even ringing the doorbell! He befriended my dog immediately and insisted that I didn't need to keep her locked out of the work area on his accord (she was whining to come join the commotion from behind a baby gate).
Unfortunately my heater was completely done. The technician was able to tell me that my heater was from 1976. As the heat exchange unit was cracked, he was not able to repair it (which is a law, apparently it may leak carbon monoxide once this piece is cracked). He answered all the questions I had about what to look for in a new unit. He also took a trek to the side of my house to take a look at my central air unit and discussed heater compatibility with me. Although it may not be coming across in this review-this technician was, by far, the nicest technician I have ever had come to my home. Before leaving, he gave me information about the company's sales department.
After discussing the situation with my husband, we decided to meet with the sales representative, as I was so pleased with my initial encounter with the company. I called the company the same day, and we had a sales representative at our home that evening. The sales representative was also very knowledgeable, pet friendly, and personable. We selected a unit, discussed some additional work which we opted to have done (we added another air intake vent, as the original technician had suggested for optimal performance), and discussed pricing/payment.
Again, after discussing it with my husband, and comparing pricing/labor online, we decided to go with the company for the heater replacement. Their prices were very reasonable and again, we were very satisfied with the level of communication, professionalism and general friendliness of the employees thus far.
We accepted the proposal and scheduled a heater installation. The company was very flexible and available for scheduling. They scheduled everything around my schedule, very quickly, and were always forth coming with information. They informed me who would be arriving (names of employees) at my home, which I thought was a nice detail, since you are letting a complete stranger into your home any time you call a company to have a service performed. Also, as soon as the tech/sales rep/installers arrived, they handed me their business cards-verifying that they are who they are supposed to be, from Unique Indoor Comfort.
On the day of install the 2 technicians arrived on time, were knowledgeable, patient with my questions, personable, and dog friendly. They went right to work and soon everything was done. I gladly admit, the work looks good. They cleaned up everything (sweeping, vacuuming) in and around the work space and even did some cleaning to the partially-involved central air unit. They went through all the details of the new unit, installed the heating/thermometer control and spent a good 20 minutes showing me how to use it and program it. Everything is nicely labeled and well installed. They also installed a carbon monoxide detector next to the unit. I was very satisfied with the work.
As you may be able to tell, I am incredibly impressed with the service and the company in general. I would even go as far to say that this is the best home-repair related company I have ever dealt with. I have no negative feedback to provide. I look forward to keeping a relationship with this company for all my future home heating and cooling needs. I have, and will continue to recommend this company. If there was a rating above an A, I would assign it in a heart beat. The company and the employees I dealt with deserve an A +++.

  • We love our new heater, bathroom and laundry room! The quality of work is excellent and we are very pleased that everything turned out so well. Frank at Quality Family Construction and his subcontractors were all very professional. Frank was at our home everyday to oversee the project. Each day he reviewed with us what work was completed and what we could expect the next day. He encouraged us to ask questions throughout the project and returned our phone calls promptly. He and members of his crew arrived when they said they would, and worked throughout the weekend as needed. We were concerned that we only have one bathroom, but he made sure we had a working toilet and shower every day. The price was comparable to other estimates we received. We needed some additional electrical work completed in the bathroom, otherwise the cost was what was estimated. We love the look of the new bathroom and laundry room, and everything is working great.

  • He fixed the meter and now it is working again.  He did this on the same day he came and checked it.  he came out within a few days of calling him - which was very nice as I think he was busy at the time.  I am not sure of the date without going back and finding the receipt buried in last year's papers!    I am still waiting on the estimate for the monitoring system - which I suspect he forgot and I will need to call and remind him!  But it is not a hurry, as the system is working.  I found him through Angie's List after reviewing many other local solar system companies.  I was happy with his service and the price was reasonable.

  • We originally found DTS Electric through Angie's List last year. Dave was professional, courteous, easy to work with and reasonably priced. When some of our lights started randomly diming (brown-out) then brightening, or blinking completely off and on, we called Dave. Dave listened to our description of the issue, reassured us that it was most likely a loose connection in the circuit (nothing life-threatening) and came out the next week. Had he thought it was a more serious issue he would have come out right away.
The lights were not acting up when he was here, so we showed him a couple seconds of video we'd taken. He agreed it was interesting and asked several questions before doing anything else. Then he examined the boxes, completed diagnostic tests, replaced several circuits and tightened up the connections in both boxes. It took about an hour altogether. Our lights haven't dimmed or blinked since!

  • It went well. My fiance did most of the work with them but they were very professional with their quote. They did not lie about anything. Anything that was done above and beyond was covered, like they said, "Okay. Well, if you want to do this, this is going to be an additional." There was no smoke and mirrors. It cost a lot since we had a very old house. It was about $7,000 or $8,000. Our house was built in the '50s and so basically, it was a nightmare of spider web of wires up in the ceiling. So, they took those out, put new junction boxes in, put outlets where they were supposed to be and brought me up to code. A lot of those were my fiance's area but I was just happy as a woman to have enough outlets to my kitchen. We are actually talking about using them again.

  • I don't even know where to begin.  Mr. Contractor has been a blessing.  My mom and I hired Mr. Contractor back in October, 2013 to remodel mom's two bedrooms, which were in need of some serious updates and to replace old ceiling tiles in the kitchen and living room.  We called them to get an estimate and were so impressed with Ken Spector when he came out that we hired them right on the spot.  Since it was going to be a messy job, we took mom out of the house for a week so she wouldn't be in the way.  Ken and his crew kept us up-to-date with phone calls, e-mails, pictures of the problems, etc. the entire time so we could make the appropriate decisions.  They found faulty wiring after the old ceiling tiles were removed in the kitchen so we had them replace the wiring before putting the new tiles up.  There was no pressure from Ken to have them do the work, they were just keeping us advised of the problems.  Needless to say, the house looked great after the work.  Of course, there were minor issues like a scratched wall, missing, paint, so we called Ken and someone was out there the next day to fix these issues.

And, now to the recent dilemma.  After all the bad weather this year in the northeast, mom discovered a leak in her bathroom ceiling.  She called Ken and he was there right away checking out the problem.  He discovered that there was a tear on her roof, which had water leaking in the house and down the siding in her yard.  He sent his crew out the next day and put on a new roof.  The siding will be replaced once the weather gets back to normal.

I can't say enough good things about Mr. Contractor, Ken and his entire staff.  The quote and completion date estimates were accurate. All of the people who came to work on the house were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable.  They far exceeded our expectations of contractors and we would highly recommend them.  If other issues arrive, we will use them again in a heartbeat.

  • He was a very pleasant, professional man and he replaced the switch and tightened the plate which was loose.
He showed me how to operate the new switch and I was very happy with the results. I would recommend him to
anyone looking for an electrical contractor.
