Phil and his sons put in long hours doing difficult and dirty work and we are so grateful to know that once they were done, we were no longer at risk for mold. Phil's team took extra care: our wood floors are special and cannot be easily matched with today's offerings. I know it cost them time to do the rip out in a careful way that would preserve the boards in tact, and we so appreciate it. With that extra effort, we were able to dry out the boards elsewhere and have them reinstalled in a way that looked like there had never been damage in the first place.

Neal and his people were amazing. They were totally professional and worked and cleaned as they went along. I think the pricing was about average to low average and the quality of workmanship was above average. The people who worked were extraordinary and if something was amiss they immediately fixed it without complaint. I am going to save up to have Housing Solutions to do my next job which is either painting the interior or replacing my windows. This is the contractor to use.

The job was promptly scheduled and the work was performed exactly as advertised. Both Ross and Andy were on site when the work was performed to my complete satisfaction. Their workers were very nice, and they also took care doing the work. This is a very professional, small company that specializes in basement waterproofing, sump pumps, mold remediation and certain aspects of plumbing. As a real estate investor, if I have a future need in this area I will not hesitate to hire them again.

I had referred MSI to a friend through Angie's List a few years back and she raved about their professionalism so I contacted them for our issue. I had no idea what to expect for this type of issue as it was several layers of problems, as is always the case in our 115 year old home. Joe was open and honest about the likelihood of cost, depending on what they found and was clearly knowledgeable about the issue. I didn't shop around at all, I trusted the recommendation from my friend in addition to being impressed by my initial conversation with him and reviews others have given him. Within an hour or two he had sent along a contract and then called me to let me know a date the following week he could get me in so that we weren't waiting until later in the month. His team of two workers were friendly, engaged my talkative four-year old, and were beyond impeccable in their clean up of a crazy amount of plaster and insulation. Joe even let me know when the guys were running only ten minutes late due to traffic that morning--- ten minutes! We have had many, many contractors in our home/money pit for various reasons over the few years we have lived here and one of my biggest pet peeves is that I very often feel ignored, spoken down to, or lied to. When I say that Joe and his team are the complete opposite of that, I mean it. He's not just a true professional but a genuinely nice person. One of his concerns through this all was my daughter's asthma, he didn't mind me texting him random questions and always called me back to throughly explain everything in detail. I completely trust his quality of work and to say how much I appreciate his honesty would be an understatement. While I hope to not to have to work with them again because that would mean more mold or water damage (unlikely in our old home!), they are the first company I have had here that I would absolutely recommend to anyone and would hire again without batting an eye. Thanks MSI!

Ray did a first rate job, was polite, professional, knowledgeable and completely dependable. We had long standing black mold in our basement due to prior flooding. Ray answered my call immediately and came the next day to give an estimate. He called 1/2 hour before he arrived to say he was on his way. He explained the procedure in detail and e-mailed everything he had explained in further detail to me that same day. The following week he and his crew of 5 came right on time and were pleasant, friendly and professional. They removed all necessary wallboard and the carpet as well as several smaller items we needed to discard from the basement. They moved the items we were keeping in the basement carefully. They treated all necessary surfaces and then fogged the basement with an environmentally safe substance. The project was completed in about 6 hours. Ray had us check his work when he was done and asked if we had any questions. The basement was left very clean, and the mold smell was and is completely gone. As promised, he e-mailed a certificate of mold remediation. He was great to work with. We would definitely hire him again and highly recommend him. He earned our trust.

It went Terrible. I had a flood in my kitchen caused by another company. Mark1 Restoration was recommended by my homeowners insurance carrier for the remediation work. I noticed that they also do kitchen repair and renovation. I called their office to ask that they come out to provide an estimate for the repair. They were responsive as, "Denny" came to my house within the week to review. Curiously, however, hestarted to perform a remediation review. I questioned him about this since the remediation was complete and I desperately needed repair/renovation. After a convoluted response, he began talking about the repair. He was at my home for about 45 minutes, as we discussed what I wanted and what was possible given my kitchen size and layout. He concluded the visit by stating that he would be in touch. with the estimate. I apologized for the rocky start, he likewise apologized. After a week, I called to inquire about thestatus of the estimate. I left a message on "Denny's" voice mail. Another week went by without any response or the courtesy of a return call. I called Mark1 again and this time asked to speak with the manager. I was told that "Denny" was the office manager, but I was put in touch with "Alan" the "second in command." After speaking with "Alan", he stated that "Denny" was tied up on "major" renovations, but "Alan" promised he would call me back that same day. Of course, I never heard back from "Alan" either. A few days later, I called again. I was told that neither "Denny" nor "Alan" we're "available", but I could leave them a message. I declined since they do not return calls, or at least, they do not return MY calls. This a terrible way to do business. If Mark1 Restoration decided that they did not want to take on my job, because it was too small, or because they did not want to work with me, then the honorable and repectful thing to do would have been to tell me, not give me the run around and make promises that they never intended to keep. Stay away from them. They are not an honorable or respectful business.

It went extremely well especially given the weather conditions. It was a very chilly April 9th. It was raining and snowing and miserable. I was impressed with Paul's mannerisms and professionalism... It helped me process and begin the recovery of my business... I really thought he was going to charge 3 times what he did charge.

After a recent radon test, we determined that our existing abatement system was not working well enough to keep our radon levels below safe levels. The company did an inspection and recommended a new blower and to check the collection sites to make sure they were adequately excavated. After replacing the fan and enhancing the existing collection sites our radon levels are now down to the same as the fresh air outside. Hopefully we won't need them again, but if we ever have an issue with our system in the future we will definitely have them back.
