  • The job was promptly scheduled and the work was performed exactly as advertised. Both Ross and Andy were on site when the work was performed to my complete satisfaction. Their workers were very nice, and they also took care doing the work. This is a very professional, small company that specializes in basement waterproofing, sump pumps, mold remediation and certain aspects of plumbing. As a real estate investor, if I have a future need in this area I will not hesitate to hire them again.

  • It went great! Neal was able to start quickly, and made short work of it. All needed work was performed professionally and at at the highest standards. Crew always arrived on time, and they were very careful to protect non-work areas, cleaned up every day, and performed numerous small side tasks which we had been saving up to include in a larger project. Neal's advice on the MBR project and even more so on the laundry resulted in a much better result than I had originally had in mind, with very reasonable expenses for significant amounts of extra work. We did not even solicit bids from others for this project, as we did for the previous (large) bathroom remodeling project. Neal is the guy we will bring in for any project of any size around the house, such as the master bath remodeling we are building a budget for! He and his crew are highly competent, reliable, and responsive. I would just add that when we had a problem with the hot water in the bathroom shower months after he had finished that job, he had someone out here to fix it the next day at no cost to us. Also, the painter did phenomenally excellent work; he was meticulous and gave me great advice on matching colors. Housing Solutions does great work for a fair price, and they back up their work, no questions asked.

  • we had old drain system partially and working sum pump and old sum pump well that was just covered. instead of installing new French drain system entire basement, AJ recommended to install the area that did not have old drain system against the wall, which saved the money. Also, they fill the old sum pump well, add 2nd sum pump that new French drain is connected, added hole to drain water from humidifier. Also because they cleaned the molds and took away any thing in the basement had the mold. All this in one day. The basement hadn't had any water came in to the basement since then. We are very pleased with their work.

  • Absolutely to perfection! Ross and Andy came out to inspect my property. I've been having a problem in the basement of my home with flooding in my basement. I had several quotes but if I can save others some time and aggravation, Ross and Andy were hands down the best. They were very personable and clearly know their business. There was never a hint of pressure to do any work and sign a contract. The basement has been repaired and after a few heavy, soaking rains, my basement is completely dry.

  • Overall, Academy Waterproofing delivered a high quality product which I am very satisfied with. Joe is hard-working, honest and professional- a rare combination in today's world of contractors. He went above and beyond to make this job go smoothly. The couple of minor issues that came up during the project (inevitable in a 100 year old home) were resolved immediately. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a waterproofing solution. Don't make a mistake by going elsewhere.

  • After buying a Big Deal for the crawlspace dehumidifier, the rep came to our house and gave us an estimate for other work he recommended.  We decided to add the crawl space encapsulation.  Planned the work to begin on a Saturday, but he asked if his crew could come to start the work on Friday afternoon to make sure it would be complete by Saturday.  I said OK, but when Friday came around he asked if they could come late morning since they only work until 2pm on Friday.  I couldn't take more work off, so we settled on noon.  They came promptly and began working.  I went downstairs to see how things were going and noticed one of the crew was holding my drain pipe which was broken in two. Went back upstairs to wait for Chris to let me know what had happened.  Didn't hear anything.  About 45 minutes later I went down again and had to ask why the pipe was broken.  It seemed like he wasn't going to tell me about that unless I asked him.  A red flag for sure.
They eventually repaired the pipe and finished for the day.  Came back the next day to complete the job.  After they left we went down to look at the work and were surprised to see that the "encapsulation" was not sealed to the crawlspace walls.  It was like they put down plastic and didn't even affix it to the walls completely.  Called Chris back who agree it wasn't done correctly and scheduled the crew to come back to complete the job in the correct way.
The dehumidifier was also installed, but the output hose was leaking at the insertion, and the hose was draped on pipes at an incline.  Water doesn't drain UP!.  Called the rep again, and was told that they could come out in 2 days to fix the leak (since it was a weekend).  So I had to go in myself and fix it (a 98 cent ring clamp was all it needed....they should have done that on installation), and I had to rework the hose so that it actually drained down from the unit (i.e., obey the laws of physics).  You would think that a professional company would have known that a hose won't drain upward, you would think that a professional company would check their work for leaks.  You would think that a professional company wouldn't have to come back to clean up a sloppy encapsulation job.
This whole episode put a bad taste in my mouth for this company.  I just don't trust them.  I'm considering a French drain for the basement, but I'll use another company when we're ready to do that.

  • The company did exactly what they promised, they were thorough, on-time, professional.  Andy was very knowledgeable and helpful in the process.  We were pleased with the whole experience.  I would recommend them.

  • We were looking to get our Kitchen remodeled.  Not knowing anyone in our area, I asked a local Cabinet supply store for recommendations.  They recommended that I call ACE General Contracting.  I gave them a call and Zoltan, the owner, quickly responded and came out to my place to give me an estimate. He helped us to plan everything out, brought out samples of tile flooring, backsplash, and granite counter tops and went with us to find the perfect kitchen cabinets and sink.  I was impress at the level of commitment I received from Zoltan in helping us get our dream kitchen.  Everything went very smoothly and we ended up getting a kitchen better than we had imagined while staying on budget.  Zoltan was very professional.  I did have one minor problem with a cabinet drawer that would want not stay all the way shut a short time after we had the work done.  Zoltan quickly came out and fixed the problem for us. We really love our new kitchen and highly recommend ACE General Contracting.  He is now helping plan and build a finish basement and composite deck.  We really like all his suggestions.

  • They sent the guy out the first time, and it seemed his focus was only on remodeling and not repairing the crack in the floors. They assured me that the leak would be fixed if they remodeled it. When they come to see me it was at night and they said they thought that pretty soon I would have some issues with leaking if I didn't get it fixed - they said because of hydrolic pressure, they thought that eventually the crack would get worse. They said one of the slabs in my basement was going to be a problem. They convinced me to have my basement water proofed. They went around the perimeters of my basement and jack hammered the slabs in my basement and installed underground pipes and they put in a second sunk pump in. Afterwards they cemented the basement back up, but it wasn't the same quality that I had before so it never fixed the issue and the leak remains today. I spent way more money than I thought I would for an issue I felt I was being proactive on and I feel like that I was given a solution to a problem that I didn't have.

  • The work was performed on April 11th and that was a really good thing!!  On April 15th, we had lots of rain....lots.  I went down into my basement, expecting what I've been use to seeing for the past 15 years and I had to pinch myself.  No water, not a drop.  I love my basement again.
The guys were great, they even moved some heavier things out of the way for me.  The work was done in a full day.  Drains installed, pumps too.  An air machine was running and that kept the dust and debris to a bare minimum.  My basement was cleaner then when they started.  I'm usually very concerned about referring a contractor but I had a neighbor stop by and see for herself how dry my basement is, and she'll be calling Paradigm to fix her basement too.
