  • I have had great success with Angieslist however not this time. I regret using the provider mainly because he offered $40 diagnostic coupon. The problem was "diagnosed", he ordered came back and replaced a timer for the washer. It worked for two, maybe three months and the symptoms reappeared. I called him but he was going on vacation for 10 days. I found that i was able to use another setting/cycle that seemed to work fine in the meantime. Pretty soon this cycle began to behave the same. Repeated phone calls, promised return calls as he looked into the warranty status of the timer never happened. The problem still persists, intermittent delays and no drainage. In my opinion either the diagnosis was wrong, or used parts were ordered in repairing the washer. I don't know, but I have pretty decent experience with contractors/things being fixed in reaching this conclusion. At least 15 phone calls have been made and answered with a promise to return the call but it never does happen. Same story. This is a rental and my tenants have been extremely patient waiting and playing with different settings is the only reason it has dragged on for months. I will buy a new washer now, do not use the service provider is my best recommendation!

  • Had an appointment with a 1-5 window. Cancelled at 3. Only available appointment to reschedule was four days later. In the meantime the dishwasher overflowed even though it wasn't turned on. Flooded the kitchen. If the tech had kept the appointment it wouldn't have happened.

  • Tim diagnosed the problem as the smartboard. I bought a new board for over $100 and when he returned, it turned out that the new board did not fix the problem. Now he said it must be the tube which would be several hundred dollars to repair. For that much I replaced the entire microwave, but meanwhile I was out the $79 fee from Tim and $114 fee for the board because the appliance parts dealer would not credit me for returning a part that had been tried.

  • Tim is the best. Found the junk that had broken the pump. Advised me not to waste money on repairing. Taught me how to buy the best bang for my buck and where to buy. Tim probably just saved me $500.

  • Provider was late, but called several times to alert me to his expected arrival time. Quickly diagnosed problem and knew exactly the replacement parts to order. Paid Angie's List $106 for the service call and additional $162 for parts and return visit to install them. Technician was clean, courteous, quick and knowledgeable, and the office staff was also very helpful.
    The only thing I'd suggest is that the technician should at least wipe his feet, or better, have booties to put over wet/muddy feet when entering the home. This tech was in a hurry (end of a long day, I suspect), and tracked wet mud over my floors. This is a minor complaint, though, as we were very happy with his work and responsiveness. He was also very good with our dog!

  • I chose Aviv Appliances because of the glowing reviews on Angie's List, and I agree with them. Eyal checked the washer and found it was running smoothly. He said that if the concerns I had arise again, I will not be charged for the second service call. He also gave me some tips for keeping the washing machine and my dishwasher in good condition. I would definitely recommend this company.

  • Contacted the company, left a message outlining the problem, and received a call back the next morning.  Spoke with Roy and made arrangements for him to come by early that same afternoon.  He arrived within the specified time frame and evaluated our leaking freezer.  He had to move the appliance and noted as he was moving it that the floor tiles were starting to come up.  He stopped, pointed out the issue and got permission before continuing.
    He evaluated appliance, identified the problem, and pointed out that this model of freezer had an original design flaw resulting in clogging of the drain and the leaking we were observing.  His diagnosis was consistent with the information about the problem that I had independently discovered through my own research.  Roy described our options for a simple clean out that would have him back out in six months to remedy the situation again, or to replace the drain system then and there to remedy the problem for good.  He indicated that he could complete the job the same day, but would need to go to his supplier to obtain the part.  He was gone and back in 45 minutes and proceeded make the necessary repairs.  Prior to doing so, he described what else might go wrong in the process, and what he would do if that happened.  Nothing out of the ordinary occurred, but I appreciated his honesty about the potential side effects of the repair.
    All in all, 2.5 hours in my house (including the trip to get the part) and repair of the issue for $210, which I consider money well-spent.  This review is being written the day after the repair, and I will update it should an issue with the work arise in the future.

  • The ice maker on my refrigerator was not working so I looked online and I saw the website and reviews for this company. I didn't realize that they were also on Angie's List. I called and set up an appointment for March 11, 2015. James the owner of the company came to my home. He seemed very professional and pulled my refrigerator from the wall and inspected the ice maker. After some adjustments, he thought that it was working again but told me to call him back a couple of hours later if it was not making ice. He also said that he got the serial number and would order the part if it needed to be replaced. I paid him the $49 service call fee and tipped him $20. I called the company back a couple of days later and left a message that the ice maker was not working and asked that they order the part. After not receiving a return call for several days, I called back and spoke to a woman who claimed that they didn't have the serial number. I explained that I was not able to see the serial number because the refrigerator had to be pulled out of the wall again, and that James had taken it when he was at my home. She promised to have him call me back. I gave her my home humber and my cell phone number. When I didn't receive a call on either number, I called them a third time and spoke to Regina who again promised a return call. I never got a return call form this company. By April 3rd, I had not received a return call so I called them as a courtesy and left a voice message to let them know that I was writing a negative review on Google and that they need not return the call. When my review was posted, the company posted a response in all capital letters (which is the online equivalent of shouting). Among other things, the response was hostile and was filled with complete lies claiming that 2 different people had made several calls to my home number, that they told me that the part was not available and that I didn't want to pay for the repair. They also published my home number in the response out of spite. Before my call relating to the negative review, I never heard back from these people. While they claimed to have made all of these calls to my home number, my caller ID showed three calls made after my courtesy call and no voice mail messages before those calls. Also, while they listed my home number in the response (to be vindictive), I also gave them my cell number as the preferred contact number, which was never called.

    The nature and tone of the response makes it clear that this is not a customer friendly company and they are liars. What motive would I have to lie about the facts in this matter? 

    Any potential customer reading this review can decide for yourself if you want to do business with a company that lies, is non responsive, is hostile and then trashes a customer for complaining. They obviously know nothing about customer service. All that I can say is that I am stunned at their non-responsive, unprofessional behavior and bullying response to my Google review which I stand by.
