    Fahnestock Excavating Inc
I was very pleased. Dwight was immediately willing to undertake the work. He was very helpful in determining where to site the tank. The property has many large seen and unseen ironstone rocks so digging is problematic. Dwight showed up promptly, did the work efficiently, and consulted about the finish work. He made some accommodations to ensure the tank would stay in the ground when we encountered water. For me, it is difficult to have my property altered by excavation, but Dwight was reassuring about the capacity to restore it.

The group of guys showed up on time and starting working pretty quickly after that.  They put down carpets so they didn't destroy mine, setup a dust fan to keep the dust to a minimum, and put plastic up all the way to the ceiling of my basement, which was impressive.  The only thing I didn't like was they didn't use earplugs while jackhammering which is a personal choice, just doesn't seem like a good choice.  The whole process took two days for 59LF of pipe; the guys left somewhere around two the first day and came back on Saturday to concrete and do odds and ends.  They did a really good job cleaning up when the job was finished and my basement looks great.

The serviceman dug up the front yard with a small backhoe and took out most of the dirt over the line and then finished digging by hand.  He put in new ballast (rock) under the new line and allowed that to sit for a few days before covering up the project.  The repair has lasted several years without a problem.  Well done.

The salesman was very informative in addition I was able to negotiate into the price ripping out an out cement sink and replacing it with a pvc sink.  The whole process took 2 days, but by the end of the 1st day they had it almost all done!  They started in the morning and they worked till almost 9pm! I was truly impressed.  I think they had about 8 guys on this job.  They installed 2 sump pumps as well.  The system has been in place for 10 months and I haven't had a drop of water in my basement! One side note that is worth mentioning. I have an old cast iron sewer line that comes into my basement.  This pipe was along the wall and was held up by cement pillars.  I was very concerned with a sewer pipe being 70 years old breaking when they jack hammered around the perimeter.  Some of the pillars did break (not the pipe), but they fixed it with hydraulic cement (included with price).  I also wanted to point out that they helped out with financing.  Installing a interior french drain is a lot of money and the salesman understood that. I am very pleased with this company!

    William Penn Renovation Co
We attended many home builders? shows over the past few years and did a lot of research, and decided that the Decra Roofing was a good value, even considering the added cost.  When it came time for a new roof, William Penn Renovations was clearly the most experienced Decra Installer in the area.  Their installers were very professional, experienced, and friendly.  They assured me with complete confidence that there would be no leaks, and after watching the level of ice and snow guard, and their knowledge of flashing methods, there is no doubt what-so-ever that the roof will ever leak.  The roof will outlast the house. Decra Stone Coated Steel roofs, in addition to being long lasting and tough, are touted as being energy efficient.  As a bonus, the XD Shingle with the deep architectural look, is hands down the best looking roof you will see.  With the house being a Cape Cod, many of the rooms have a vaulted ceiling.  Before Decra, you could feel the heat radiating off of the ceiling mid-day.  After the Decra roof was installed, the second floor rooms are much cooler with no sense of the radiating heat.  In fact, a secondary AC unit on the second floor was not turned on once this summer, so let the saving begin. We also contracted William Penn Renovations to construct a very large Front Porch to time with the roof installation.  Once again, their crews were experienced and friendly.  One crew handled the demolition, excavation, and concrete.  A second crew constructed the porch in a timely manner.  They paid attention to details, had solid skills, listened to our input, and in the end, we got a porch that exceeded our expectations. Many have commented that the porch looks like it was part of the house from initial construction.
All in all, WPR did a great job and delivered. They were upfront with costs, and while it?s clear they might not be the least expensive contractor, they proved that they can be one of the best contractors.  In the end, the quality of the job speaks for itself.  Well done.

Overall the work went well. It took pretty much a whole week from start to finish. Of course when you do work like this it's always noisy, messy and expensive. I would have rather not have had to do it at all but there were problems with the original line that was made of the old orangeburg material, and had to be replaced. There was a breakage in one of the interior lines as well.
Jeff co-ordinated the work well and addressed any issues that came up. They handled all the inspections that had to be done by the boro and knew what they were doing.
The fellow they had doing the excavation was pretty good. He had two different shovels he used to dig and back fill. He was pretty adept at handling the equipment. He had to remove a small tree and a bush, and then replanted them using the equipment. He also had to get in pretty close to the house to get to the footer.
They seem to have the men, material and expertise to do this kind of work, and they had plenty of people there to keep the job going as fast as they could.
They taped plastic up as much as they could to keep the concrete dust from getting everywhere but there still where some areas that got a little messy. They did try to clean up the work area somewhat.
They used a subcontractor to do the concrete patching and they were a little messy. They did not have anything of their own to use so I had to put down plastic to protect the area they were walking on because there was a lot of foot traffic from the garage to the basement work area. Everything had to be bucketed in and out.
As stated before, work like this is expensive. I think the pricing was pretty much in line. I've never had to do work like this before but I think I got the right people to do the job.

    Basement Waterproofing Solutions
We received an in-home visit and estimate from Francie.  She was knowledgeable and up-front with us.  When we requested references we received them within a couple of days.  After choosing them among 4 or 5 others (because of their reputation, the comfort we felt with Francie, the price, etc.) they got us on the schedule a few weeks out.
The workers came, did a good job covering things up to minimize the dust and working hard all day.  Their work looks good and so far, with a few heavy rains under our belt, everything has been perfectly bone dry.
We did contact Dave, for a minor mix-up, and he got back to us in a day or two and then came out personally to rectify it.  He obviously takes a lot of pride in his company.
Would definitely recommend BWS to others.

    ITG Basement Systems
When the gentleman came out to look at my basement, he did arrive on time as quoted, took background info and then went to look in the basement for the problem. Within minutes he found the problem telling me it was my back patio door leaking not my foundation. I was relieved as I know a foundation repair is expensive! He then began to talk to me about my basement in general and somehow (I honestly do not remember) we got on the topic my lack of sump pump and how my pipes were clogged below the foundation. To make a long story short...he gave me great info on their basement system and when it came to price it all went down hill.
I did not do my research as I had told him, I thought it was a foundation leak and here we were now talking about waterguards and sump pumps! I think it is a fantastic product and do think my basement could benefit but the rest was really shady. he gave me a quoted price and then proceeded to tell me my 15% off coupon was only good if I agreed now (even though the coupon did not state that). I was really considering it and told him I needed time to think about it...he just kept pushing telling me if I dont sign now I will lose the price and his boss may give a discount but it will never be that low again. He even resorted to and quot;callingand quot; his boss, and let me tell you...I should have said something but I let it go at the time...I could see that his phone was lit, as in the selection screen, not on a call (I have the same phone). He never talked to anyone... the whole thing was shady to me...I should be able to get the price without having to sign at that moment. I would stay away from any company who changes the and quot;rulesand quot; of a coupon and then and quot;talksand quot; to their boss trying to pressure you into a sale. I say it again...shady. I am still looking into the product...only with a different company. Shady..shady...shady how they run their business!

    Thompson's Basement Waterproofing
Dean met with us, explained what needed to be done and what caused our current basement issues. They scheduled the work to start on the following Monday. The next day Dean called and said they had a cancelation and could start tomorrow. The crew came in completed the work and cleaned up in just 2 days. We did have one mishap and that was a basement window somehow fell out and broke. I contacted Dean about it and he said that he would handle it. I then talked to Keith and he said they were having the glass repaired and once repaired they would reinstall the window at their cost. Overall a very pleasant experience and everything was handled very professionally. Would, with out any doubt, use Thompson's again!

They were courteous, on time & efficient.  About 2 weeks after the job we had a torrential rain that would have usually resulted in wet basement.  The basement remained bone dry!  We are very happy!!
