    Kreitzer's Automotive Service
Kreitzer Automotive Services are knowledgeable, efficient and reasonably priced and most important honest. My husband and I have gone there for all our automotive needs for the last 6 years. Never disappointed. They take the time to thoroughly check your car and anticipate any future issues regarding your vehicle. We recommend them to everyone. They took care of our yearly inspection and we had forgotten to request that service, they anticipate your needs. Honesty and efficiency, can't beat them for that and more.

Chris and his mechanics work hard and always explain any need that the car may have.  Prices have been estimated for larger projects. We take all of our vehicles to Chris for inspection and service.  He always fits us in within the week of calling!

We went to look at a Porsche Cayenne for my wife. It started out OK, a sales advisor met us, we discussed what we were looking for and took a test drive. Since none were in stock to my wife's liking, he had to search for one. This were it went downhill. The advisor had a back problem, was in obvious pain, and could barely move at times. I realize it was not his fault, but he shouldn't have even been working. After spending an inordinate amount of time on the computer, he said he'd keep looking and would be in touch. We never heard from him until several weeks later, after we had bought a Cayenne from another dealer. Maybe another sales advisor would have made the experience better, but we will not be going to Autohaus again.

The issue was a severe shaking of the engine compartment which transferred to the cabin when at idle.  I also had an oil leak which I could not locate and Dove called when they found the suspected leak. The area around the oil pressure sending unit was leaking and I gave the go ahead for the repair. The estimate was close to the quoted cost and all work was completed within the timeframe specified. Dove was very accommodating as I was able to make arrangements with them to pick up the vehicle after business hours. Considering this was the first time I used their service I was surprised they allowed me to drop the check in the after hours drop box.
The vehicle still leaks but I'm not sure where from since the car now has over 225K miles (had about 223K when it was repaired) and I suspect a rear main seal but that has nothing to do with the previous repairs.  They also used original Honda parts for the repairs due to their experience with aftermarket parts and believed this was the best solution to which I also agree.
Overall, I would take my Honda there again as they are very knowledgeable about Honda vehicles and more reasonable than the dealers.

Problem occurred on a weekend when traveling. I was able to call the dealership on Saturday and schedule service for the next week. Unfortunately the service needed to be done on two different days because once the problem was discovered the parts to fix it were not in stock so I needed a second service visit. It was an AC problem, so I was without AC in my car for a week, but fortunately the weather was not unbearable and we got along fine until it was fixed. We were given an estimate of the cost of repairs and the exact cost was very close to the estimate. Service was done in a reasonable amount of time. The waiting room was very comfortable - air conditioned, spacious, tv and newspapers available, free coffee, restrooms. The only negative part was trying to contact the service technician we alway use - we called several times to the dealership to seek what we would initially need to do and then schedule an appointment - due to the number of phone calls and customers he was serving we did not get a call back as soon as we expected and caused us to call the dealership numerous times and leave multiple messages for him. I use this dealership exclusively for service to my Toyota and feel that I can trust their judgement and expertise in providing good service. There is even a shuttle to my hometown on a scheduled day of the week and daily shuttle service to a local shopping mall that i could use during my wait time.

A branch damaged the hood. They responded immediately and took a look at the situation. They said the engine is not damaged and so off to the body shop we go.
These guys are always straight up, if they can or can't do it. I go there for anything they can do. They have referred me to the dealer for some things. I am always impressed with the results and usually pretty happy about the timeliness. I feel the prices are fair.
In this case it was a free lookover. I am happy as always with the treatment.

Dwain went above and beyond to work with me on researching an obscure method to fix the air compressor in my 2006 Ford Freestyle. Other places said it couldn't be done and that I would need to replace the compressor at costs ranging up to $1800.00. He used his knowledge and contacts in the business to find a service bulletin (for a totally different make of car) that used the same compresssor. His extra time and effort paid off in that he saved me as much as $1700.00!
    I'll be using ASAP again.

    Kreitzer's Automotive Service
(This is a follow up to my review of 3/29)
I provided more background in my previous review for my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.  The follow up service was for my 2005 Acura TL with 62,000 miles.  I needed the timing belt replaced in accordance with mfg. recommendations.  The local Acura service estimate was well over $1000, about $200 more than the Kreitzer estimate.  Even if they had been the same, I would have used Kreitzer's since I am so impressed with their dedication to customer service and satisfaction and professionalism.
Katy had my loaner ready when I dropped off my car.  When I came back to pick it up, Katy insisted on showing me the parts and explained how to look for wear on the timing belt. She showed me the old water pump, tensioner, and serpentine belt as well.  She said they appeared to be 'OK', but why take a chance on future failure while the engine is open.  The work was done right (to their satisfaction) and they did the 2014 emission and inspection checks at the same time.  I'm good to go through 07/14.  I took the car to MD for a fast turnaround trip last week and it worked flawlessly.  Of course Katy gave me a detailed report on tires, brakes, wipers, etc. as she did on the Jeep. She gave me the part number on the drivers seatbelt switch (sometimes sticks and the airbag light stays on when belt is engaged) and asked me to call Acura and see if they would replace it for free as a safety item.  I will if the light stays on again; Katy lubricated the switch and it's working fine now.
Folks, you can't beat Kreitzer's for all your car repairs and service.  I have full faith and confidence in them, and for guys who love their cars, you know its so important to have a garage you can trust to do it right the first time at a fair price.  No one wants to get ripped off.  I'm so glad to have found them after just moving to central PA from MD, and I have Angie's List to thank for that. Great place; you will not be disappointed.

I did not have much of a problem with the service itself, with the exception that the headlight casing was not replaced despite both me and my husband mentioning it. I didn't notice until I got home (we were not charged for it) so I partially blame myself for this.
I found the manager's professionalism to be lacking, however. He called before they got started to give me a run-down of what they were planning on doing, and when I gave him the go-ahead he asked if I needed to talk to my mister (who was out of town for the week). When we picked up the car my father-in-law asked to see an itemized break-down of the services (already printed, by the way) and the manager grumbled about how he'd gone over it on the phone with me (I'm not a car person, I really understood only about half of what he said and wanted to make sure I wasn't getting the run-around).
We had a coupon printed from Monro's website for 20% off of a tune-up and he complained that the discount was all he would have made from our sale. I understand that he didn't make as much from us because thought it was very rude that he complained and whined about it in front of us. Very unprofessional. My father-in-law felt that this meant we weren't getting ripped off, however.
All of that said the work itself was more than adequate, minus the forgotten headlight--our car is working smoother and my husband is happy with it, so we'll probably take our car there again. My beef is with the manager, so I'll just let my husband be the one that deals with him from now on.
