Tile Installation reviews in Edwardsville

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • They refuse to complete the job; it is half finished but three-fourth paid for. They ran out of tile while cutting (broke too many) and asked me to order another box (at my expense). The tiles were out of stock, so I told them I would let them know as soon as it came in. The tile was back-ordered for two months at Home Depot and every other supplier including the manufacturer.  When it finally arrived, I texted and called them for 4 weeks before they would commit to a date to finish up. Today was the agreed-upon day and they were a no-show. Now they have stopped answering my calls and texts.

  • Angie's List will tell you that my review would be more relevant if the contractor actually DID the work. But what is really important is communication between the contractor and the homeowner, and if the contractor ignores 2 phone messages at his office (it's just an answering machine), and 4 voice mail messages on his cell phone, and stops replying to emails, that is very relevant to the service this contractor provides. Of course, the problem may lie in the fact that he quoted a price of $800 for all this work in his email to me and may have realized subsequently that he dropped the 4th digit from the price. In any case, an explanation and adjustment would have been all that was needed. It sounds like he does good work from his reviews here, but be prepared for the hassle of trying to get a hold of this fellow. You just might want to go straight to his "office" on Hancock street. That's something I didn't try. Good luck.

  • This contractor is frist rate. My advice tot he homeowner when working with Mr. Hutchinson is TRUST him. He knows what he is doing and will deliver on his promises, but be patient( which is hard as a homeowner) You will not be dissapointed

  • Great. Mike tore out the existing carpeting, installed the cement board (I think that's what he called it), and tiled the floor on his hands and knees one tile at a time with spacers. My family room is pretty big and I just couldn't believe that he took that much care and time for the price. Mike has done other work for me that I just loved and I decided on the floor on a whim. Best thing I ever did. As always, Mike was on time, easy to work with, if for any reason he was to be delayed, he'd call and let me know. I wanted the project finished in time for Valentine's Day which was two weeks away. He finished, cleaned up like he did with the basement job, and even stayed to install new window treatments and a ceiling fan for me. Great guy, great work. It came out beautiful and friends couldn't believe that this young man did such fine work. Actually, a couple of them hired him after seeing my basement and family room. I was and still am very, very happy.
