    Shamrock Construction Inc
Their work was excellent, but it took four months. But in all fairness, I have to say that I added things and changed things over the course of the project, which can affect the amount of time needed - and I can be very impatient.   Also, we were frequently held up by the Scranton department in charge of licenses and permits.  It took them forever to get over here to inspect things.

The remodel job is beautiful!  There is tile and slate in the bathroom.  Crown molding all around the walls.  New windows, door, and an especially sturdy back porch/stairs.  I had this addition done because I am getting older and this is in prep in case I ever have to limit myself to one floor.  I sometimes get dizzy and was afraid of my old back porch/stairs.  John put in a landing that is one foot wider than normal.  All the wood is wider and sturdier than normal, too.  I now feel perfectly safe everytime I use my back steps.

The patio area was cleaned out (an incredibly horrible job because I have two large dogs), prepared, poured, design in the cement, and work site cleaned up in just one week.  It was a great job and I got a good price on the cement patio too.

I was very dissatisfied. Pouring concrete around my foundation to assure that I did not get water in my cellar anymore did not work. Also the driveway is cracked and the curb line is extremely uneven. The owner was unresponsive; not good. I suppose the pricing was okay. He also did similar work for my neighbor.

The contractor had been called on a Friday and he willingly came to inspect the jobs on Sunday morning.  He was punctual for the morning appointment, examined the 2 jobs, noted what needed to be done, explained in detail how he planned to do the jobs, and gave a time line of 4 days from the time the job started to when it would be finished.  (He said he had another job he had to do in Wednesday, so he could not work 4 consecutive days on our projects. He called later that afternoon with a bid of $ 650.00 for both jobs.  This would include a helper who would work on the deck while the contractor worked on the tile. Both jobs would start at the same time.  The original breakdown of the job costs were 40% for the repair of the tiles and 60% for the raising and securing of the deck. The contractor said they could start on Tuesday, and he arrived promptly at the agreed time of 8:30 a.m. (He had asked us what time we wanted him to start work.)  They set up and started to work on both projects.  WE were kept informed as the projects continued of any changes.  As things progressed the deck proved to be less expensive than originally projected and the savings there were shifted for the increased costs of fixing the tiles in the Sun room.  Overall the job was completed 1 day earlier than projected, and at $25.00 below bid. I would highly recommend this contractor, Al Werner, aka,  All Jobs
