    Randy Morrison Construction
This is the second time I have used Morrison Construction, and I already have them lined up for a third project.
Randy is so easy to work with and he is reasonable and honest.
He has an indoor project crew and they are super easy to work with.  They show up on time and get right to work and work through the end of the day. They are courteous to my house and always leave the house cleaned up and organized (as they can) mid project.
I work at home and they were quiet (as reasonable for construction work) and polite. Darin - who leads the team - is very talented, precise and exacting in his work. He keeps the team on task.
We purchased all the cabinets and appliances, the crew did the install.  The cabinets were from Ikea - and they completely assembled and installed everything.
The project started earlier than we expected, which was great. They tore out and completely reinstalled a kitchen, added new lighting, built a media cabinet, and installed a media system (less system hook up) in about 3.5 weeks. Other than a delay in tile (not their fault) it would have been done in three weeks.
I am thrilled with my kitchen and I know if there were an issue or concern, Randy would be right over to fix it.

    Johnsons Custom Carpentry
The contractor was hired on a handshake... big mistake. I was charged for material without an itemized list. He came late, left early, charged me for hours that he was not at jobsite. The major problem was he was hired without a binding contract, and no job finish date. If you get an estimate from this guy, get it in WRITING. He likes to fib...the overall experience was horrible.

    Johnsons Custom Carpentry
His work is okay and he didn't leave a mess of any kind. The job took him 2 1/2 weeks and he originally said it would take 1 week.  I bought 90% of the materials and he charged me $978.81 for materials.. such as drywall, some odd pieces of lumber, some pvc drain pipe, paint and spackle. oh I forgot he bought a stainless steel supply line and an escutcheon  . there was no itemized bill for material. The 85 hours for labor was just an out and out lie. The only professional was to handle the situation was to pay him and report him to angies list.

    Kahle's Kitchens Inc
Kahles Kitchens provided a written quote for our kitchen remodeling project - $23,657.32 in materials and estimated labor of $3,880.00. This quote was comparable to the other quotes we received, though they were not the lowest bidder. I was assured that the labor estimate would cover the project, with the exception of removal of an existing bulkhead that was to be billed at time and material. They billed the labor for the project at a whopping $8,805.00 which included $1,016.25 for travel time and loading they claim was not included in the labor estimate. They thought I'd bring the house to Leeper when they provided the original quote?? The design they provided turned out to be significantly more complex than their installers were capable of handling, requiring numerous visits to correct mistakes and repair damage they caused. The craftsmanship on the installation is absolutely horrible. They began work on February 16th and finished on April 28th. The kitchen area is only 13 feet x 14 feet. We received an invoice in the mail on May 19th. The sales rep explained in our phone conversation on May 20th, that if he had included labor in his quote for all of the things that went wrong in a project, they would not have gotten the job. Hes right. On at least one occasion, the lead installer arrived reeking of alcohol, and I should have sent him home. On many visits they stayed only for a few hours, and often left to work other projects the same day. They refused twice (on May 20th and May 22th) to meet to discuss the quality and billing issues. I sent a letter to the owner via courier on May 26th requesting a meeting to resolve the remaining issues. The response was a call from the sales rep suggesting that we let the lawyers handle it, so I guess that is where we are headed at this point. On June 15th we received a letter from a debt collection agency. One would think that a company that specializes in kitchens would have some expertise in this area. Workers were unprofessional, occasionally intoxicated, frequently inept. Invoicing practices are reminiscent of the 1950s aluminum siding scams.

They finished within the timeline projected. The total cost was just above the price quoted. I was not charged for additional labor just additional unforeseen material costs.
