Brian was the first of 3 contractors who responded to my request for an estimate. He was the most reasonably priced of all 3. He kept me up-to-date with any delays. He was a pleasure to work with and the final result looks great!

We were not the owners of the house when the fence was put in. The fence was breaking down and coming apart ~5 years after it was installed. They came by and fixed three areas where it was coming apart. in a timely manner.

    Quinn Brothers Masonry LLC
Pat knows his stuff! He was on time; professional; told us exactly what needed to be done; how he would do it; when he would do it; and where to obtain/select the stones (that was an extra cost of about $3000 on top of his work) he would install. We felt very confident in him, and he really came through! He called us every day to keep in touch as to the next phase and the progress he was making. His crew took great care in placing/setting the stones. He came back to make sure we were satisfied. YES! Get your other quotes and then just hire him! (That's what we did.)

Once the old sidewalk was broken up and removed. it was discovered the root problem was much greater than anticipated. Quinn Bros workers put in extra effort and time (i.e. kept going until dark) to deal with the roots properly and still finish the project on time promised. No extra charge was assessed (though I did tip two of the workers.)

Everything went extremely well during the project, and the finished product looks fantastic. The workers were extremely polite, professional and responsive. They even went as far as to remove a non-functioning hard line gas grill in front of my house that ran beneath the patio I was replacing. Brian was wonderful to work with, and everything went exactly as I had hoped.

    D LIBERATI CONCRETE
I called Liberati to replace curbs based on the reviews here and the fact he was doing this work for two homes in my neighborhood. We agreed on a time for him to come by for an estimate but I never saw him. I called Dino back and apparently he had driven by my home but decided not to stop to talk to me. I should have taken that as a sign but we agreed to a price and that he would have a crew out in 1-2 weeks. I called him back when no one showed up and he apologized and agreed to have someone out the following week. Despite telling him that he just needed to call me if things were delayed I would never hear back from Dino. This dragged on for another month of him apologizing and promising to send someone out the following week. I would have continued to be flexible on when the work could get done but he basically told me he doesn't want my business with his actions. It sounds like his real estate and business work are priorities and home owners get slotted in when he doesn't have any other work.

    GMT construction
I called and asked GMT construction [*** Link removed ***] to estimate work to do 5 sidewalk slab 4x4x4 each and GMT construction Showed up right after I got off from work. After showing up I asked him was he Licensed & Insured and able to complete the work in Drexel Hill PA. He told me yes they where Licensed & Insured in all of PA and they do a lot of much bigger jobs and could knock this out in a day. They estimated the job would be $1900 and they would bring out a 4 man crew and have it knock out in a hour or so. I told them I was not a rush job so I don't need to have it done in 1 hour just need it done right so the township don't have a problem with the job. I all so let them know that other contractors had estimated the Job to be $1500 or lower because of the requirements when replacing the sidewalk in Upper Darby township (6 inches A2 Stones, 4 inch slabs and wire mesh). They replied they could do the job for $1300 and it would take about a day with a smaller crew Deal!!! They said they would come out at 9:00 am the next day and it would be down before I got home, but they did not show up at 9:00 am and no phone call. Somebody was there when I got there working on the side walk and their was no crew just a guy with a sledge hammer, wheel barrow and pick old side wall was unusable at this point. about 6:00 pm the owner shows up and said they got stuck on another job and he had dropped the other guy off to start. They her came in to the house with a contract and asked for a down payment which I had agreed to pay half when they start and the other half when they job was done. They was going to start at 8 am they did show up late like 5 pm and dropped off 20 bags of quikerete concrete. The owner asked for half the money down and I told them they have not been good about their word and I did not feel conferrable giving $650 till their on site doing the work because at this point all they have done was brake up my concrete and make the sidewalk in front of my house unusable. I have them 300$ and told them I would pay them the other half of the down payment when they show up and start doing the work. The owner and what look to be his brother showed up and started to do the work and a few min I got a Phone call from the town ship asking do I have contractors doing the work I yes and they said "GMT construction" and they said they don't have a any record of them pulling a permit or being Licensed in upper Darby. GMT construction left said they would get the paper work out and come back and do the work. They left never come back and keep my $300, side walk was half of the way broken up and Taped off with Wet paint tape. Concrete bags where left on my porch and with no cover for rain and after I asked for a refund I was told the $300 was used for all of the stuff they had to do and would not get the License to work in Drexel Hill because it is $1000 and the job was not worth getting Licensed to do the work. The number on the website no longer works and I'm out $300; I all so end up removing all the concrete my self because I did not want any body to fall in to a pit of jagged rocks. Look out for these guys this the first bad service I have gotten from Angieslist but be carful.

    Alan Conkling Garage Door Service
Easiest home improvement using a contractor I ever experienced.  I called Mr. Conkling with garage door dimensions, type, and color.  We arranged a date for him to stop by and see the door and take his own measurements.  I was not home at the time.  He called me with his suggestions, a quote on the replacement, credit card deposit and arranged the process once the door was available and he was able to install the door.  He called me the night before he planned on installing the door.  I came home from work that next day and the door was installed.  The invoice was in the garage and Mr. Conklin called to make sure I was satisfied with the installation.  Not only did he call right after the installation, but also followed up a few days later to make sure I was satisfied and the door was not having any issues.  His work was excellent and I highly recommend  Alan Conkling Garage Door Service.

    McCarthy Brothers Carpentry Inc
Joe and his brother arrived within the window of time that he had promised. They set up quickly, reviewed the work to be done, and then performed the work in an efficient manner. They had all the necessary materials and tools and were cautious in collecting nails and screws so that motorcycles in the shed wouldn't end up with flats. They answered any question I had and cleaned up before they left. We had originally considered planing the bottom of the main shed doors but, at this time, that didn't appear to be necessary. If I need it in the future, Joe said he would return to take care of it. The McCarthy Brothers were professional, their work precise, and their price reasonable. Plus, the 5% off for Angie's List customers was a plus. :)

Brian responded promptly to my email and came out to do a free estimate as soon as weather permitted. He gave me estimates for a variety of options and allowed me to choose. Even though I chose the cheaper and less extensive repair, the actual work done exceeded my expectations. Rather than just fill the pothole, Brian resurfaced a large section of the alley. I highly recommend G&V Construction!
