Excellent service, craftsmanship, and overall experience. Highly recommend. All facets of the job were executed flawlessly, especially considering the inclement weather we had this fall and winter. The craftsmanship is excellent, and cleanliness of the job site were always kept clean and organized. Final inspection conducted by an independent supervisor, and billing etc all done very professionally. This is a very well run organization, with quality workmanship throughout!

    3R Construction LLC
We stumbled upon 3R on the off chance, and have loved them ever since. Living in an old house, and not quite as handy as we would like to be, we first found Roland through an electrical short/ceiling leak. Along with a team of electricians, Roland took apart our plaster ceilings as carefully as if it were his own and repaired everything meticulously, not to mention, him and his crew left the job/work site cleaner than they had found it. Trusting him and his crew, we again hired them back to repair our barn, a rather large project involving the restoration of a stone foundation wall; a scope that also included regrading land, stabilizing a 3 storied barn, and ultimately saving our 130 year old barn. 3R's work was done with complete professionalism, their group saved us from the headache/process of securing the appropriate town/city permits and licenses need to do the work. Throughout the past 2 years, we've continuously used 3R for small and large projects. Small jobs are treated with the same attentiveness as we have found with his larger contracts. For big jobs, we still will (as one must) go through a competitive bidding process, securing estimates from several contractors. What we have found throughout this process is 3R's estimates are always competitive and reasonable. That, coupled with the knowledge that they will absolutely stand by their work has made 3R our go to general contractor over the last two years.

    Apex Roofing & Exteriors
Theres a Reason Why These Guys Have All As Our home needs a bit of work and one of the top priorities was replacing the roof and patching some siding. We decided to get an estimate from Apex because they had so many positive reviews and no grades below an A on Angies List. The process started with meeting the owner, James, who was really down to earth and personable. He did a walk around to get an idea of our siding needs and then climbed up on the roof to assess what needed to be done up there. He took pictures of everything to be addressed, including a picture of the siding color to ensure that the replacement panels would match. After his assessment, James gave us a presentation about Apex and then went through all of our problem areas with us. He explained everything detail, while showing us the pictures he took during his inspection. This was followed by recommendations for both replacement materials and installation methods. One of the things we were impressed with was his knowledge of the industry. He was able to give clear explanations of the differences between manufacturers and what would make the most sense for our home. After that he showed us video clips demonstrating how Apex installs roofs and talked about how his company handles a job site. Finally, he gave us an estimate which included an itemized list of materials and labor. We liked James presentation so much that we decided not to seek any other estimates and went ahead with contracting Apex. The crew arrived on the scheduled day, including James himself. They went right to work securing and prepping the site. We were impressed with how efficient the team was. The staff was courteous and treated our yard with care, which we were appreciative of. They even had one dedicated person who made sure that all debris was removed from the yard in regular intervals. The job was completed in one day as promised at the agreed upon price. I would definitely recommend this company for your roofing and siding needs.

    The Clemens Group
We felt very comfortable with the knowledge Dan and his team brought to our project from the start. His team of experts gathered in our home a few times to get the project started and carefully considered the pros and cons of the eventual room layout. Dan worked hand-in-hand with our architect to get every inch of our project planned correctly and advised us on the necessary township permits to avoid delays. The plan was executed exactly as designed, on time and within budget. The in-law suite contains a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette and living room with huge windows facing East and South. The unit has independent exterior access as well as its own electrical run and central air conditioning unit. Our mother is very happy with the results and proudly shows off her living space to anyone who visits.

I have not used this provider yet as we are not ready yet, but I intend to use him when the time comes.  He comes highly recommended, specifically that he will repair the siding the correct way, and won't cut corners or just patch things up.

    Frank Hagan Contracting LLC
Although Frank had not installed IKEA cabinets before, we decided to go with him based on my research and several stellar reviews from clients who have used his services before. Admittedly there were several challenges along the way. First, IKEA cabinets are not assembled and all parts come in seemingly endless boxes. The installation of IKEA cabinets requires a
flexible and creative approach to fitting that was initially frustrating for Frank, who was accustomed to standard cabinetry.
However, he soon found his stride in adjusting to these challenges. As issues arose, he always discussed possible alternatives and provided his own suggestions. Once he received our approval, he would then move ahead.
Throughout this remodel, Frank was always on time and organized. He was very professional and detail-oriented, offering suggestions and ideas as I outlined my vision. I especially appreciated his thoughtful protection of our new tile floor, laying down drop cloths as he worked. He was always conscientious while working in our home and treated it as he would his own.
Would I hire him again? In a heartbeat.

    Geno's Siding & Roofing LLC
Geno was awesome.  He did the roofing himself.  I took him a little longer than he thought, but he spent the time and did it right.  Some siding around the portico was damaged from the previous home owner and Geno replaced it for minimal cost.  All the way around he did an excellent job and I will use him for all of my roofing and siding work in the future.

    Dale Rimmer Siding

We got three quotes from Angie's list A rated companies.  Dale was very responsive and mid-priced.  We liked his approach so we selected him.  His crew was ok, not the quickest but they did a fine job.  During and after the job Dale was very responsive.  So far so good.  The reason for the low rating is associated with what happened after the job was completed.  Shortly after the job was completed we noticed a leak in our 1st floor ceiling near where the chimney goes up and meets with the siding.  Dale was great, he came right out and put a bead of caulk along both sides of the chimney.  We thought that took care of it.  The next good storm we noticed that a few of our soffit eaves were hanging low and in another area the siding seemed to pop up to lift up the soffit eave.  He sent a guy to fix it.  He struggled and did his best but it was never really resolved.  As time went on we kept an eye on the leak/stain and hoped that the soffit eave wouldn't get worse.  We called a few other contractors about the low hanging soffit eave and they all said the same thing - there was a missing J channel - just call your siding guy - he'll fix it, no problem, it should be covered by a warranty.  We called Dale a few times, he insisted the eaves were cut too short and that the only way to fix it was to replace all of the soffits and he gave us a verbal quote ($3900) that included removal and replacement of perfectly fine gutters (we had them replaced before the siding - Gutter Guys did a great job).  It just didn't seem right to us.  Late April/early May 2014 we noticed that leak again.  The stain was much worse.  We called Dale.  He said that the problem was related to a roof leak (we have a new roof) or that bad soffit.  We called again after getting a few other opinions.  We told Dale that several contractors told us to get help from our siding contractor.  Dale said that the leak was definitely not due to his siding.  Fix the soffit you'll fix the leak.  Again, for $3900 it just didn't sound right.  Finally we found a contractor that agreed to do the job.  For not much money and very little time he installed the missing J channel and fixed the low hanging soffit.  He also went around the perimeter and refastened the loose siding.  He said it was just shoddy work, wrong type of fasteners, poorly installed etc.... He was very surprised we weren't able to get it resolved by our siding contractor.   All this is minor.  The big problem is the leak.  We found the leak.  Water was getting behind the siding right where the siding meets the chimney exactly where we see the stain on the 1st floor ceiling.  We determined that flashing should have been installed along the chimney.  We've since looked at other houses with new siding.  They all have that flashing.  We did contact Dale.  He said the flashing isn't required.  No comment about the low hanging soffit eave.  We called Dale many times.  He says he visited our house and he assured us that there was a J channel and that the eaves were cut too short.  Even after we told him that several others said that wasn't the case.  It's a bummer, he is a nice guy and was very responsive during the quote effort and even during and shortly after the job.  He pretty much always returned calls but we just couldn't get him to fix the problem.  I guess we have a warranty but what good is it if we couldn't get him to fix the problem?  We've learned a lot.  It's a long review.  Sorry it's not a good review but it is accurate and it does reflect our experience.  We left Dale a v.mail at the end of the repair project.  Told him that the J channel was missing, was replaced, soffits are fixed and the leak was in fact due to the siding installation etc...  Haven't heard from him.  If anything the ratings above are generous given what we've had to do and spend to get this resolved.  P.S.  We've had several good storms - no problems with the soffit eaves, no leaks either.

Update:  Very simple here.  No flashing along either side of the chimney was the reason for the leak.  Your only attempt was to caulk.  We contacted you several times to investigate further.  You refused and stated that the problem could not be from your installation and was likely from a roof leak (not possible - the roof is new) or from the low hanging soffit eaves (they were easily fixed and were not the cause of the leak).  You said flashing along the chimney wasn't required.  We disagree.  We have not had any issues since it was repaired.  No bad mouthing from any other contractors, I simply stated the facts that just happened to be from every other contractor we brought in to help us resolve the problem.  It was difficult to get the work done because most said we should go back to you for the fix.  We got frustrated and finally convinced a contractor to perform the work.  We inspected the work every step of the way and I'm confident that my review and this update are 100% accurate.

    Geno's Siding & Roofing LLC

Everything went exactly as planned - no hitches at all.  Naturally, like probably everyone else on Angie's List, we were wary of trying someone new, but this experience was probably one of the best we've had with contractors - and we have lived in our house and hired contractors off and on for the last forty years.

Geno was prompt, came when he said he would, followed up to see how things were going - everything you want in a contractor.  We couldn't believe the attention to detail.  Things I hadn't even noticed, like the bases for our outside light fixtures, were replaced with bases that actually matched with the siding color.  Our crumbling, plastic roof vents were also replaced - what a difference a small thing like this can make!

We were amazed by the work ethic of his two-man crew.  Came exactly at 8:00 a.m. and put in 11-hour days for about 12 days.  At the end of every day, all debris was picked up and taken away.

We are extremely happy with the way this project turned out!

They had a very reasonable quote and quickly made the necessary repairs - very appreciative of their responsiveness and service with house repairs at a time where there was much to clean up with downed landscaping in the yard.
