    MCGLAUGHLIN SPRAY FOAM INSULATION INC
Three times I made an appointment, scheduling two hours of my day for them to come by. First two they called me late to cancel saying they were busy with a job. Third time they said they were at the house and knocked. I did not hear anything. They did try to call me, but left no message. The cell signal in this area is insufficient at times, and calls don't go through. But there was no message at all. I've moved on to another insulation company.

We stumbled upon 3R on the off chance, and have loved them ever since. Living in an old house, and not quite as handy as we would like to be, we first found Roland through an electrical short/ceiling leak. Along with a team of electricians, Roland took apart our plaster ceilings as carefully as if it were his own and repaired everything meticulously, not to mention, him and his crew left the job/work site cleaner than they had found it. Trusting him and his crew, we again hired them back to repair our barn, a rather large project involving the restoration of a stone foundation wall; a scope that also included regrading land, stabilizing a 3 storied barn, and ultimately saving our 130 year old barn. 3R's work was done with complete professionalism, their group saved us from the headache/process of securing the appropriate town/city permits and licenses need to do the work. Throughout the past 2 years, we've continuously used 3R for small and large projects. Small jobs are treated with the same attentiveness as we have found with his larger contracts. For big jobs, we still will (as one must) go through a competitive bidding process, securing estimates from several contractors. What we have found throughout this process is 3R's estimates are always competitive and reasonable. That, coupled with the knowledge that they will absolutely stand by their work has made 3R our go to general contractor over the last two years.

We felt very comfortable with the knowledge Dan and his team brought to our project from the start. His team of experts gathered in our home a few times to get the project started and carefully considered the pros and cons of the eventual room layout. Dan worked hand-in-hand with our architect to get every inch of our project planned correctly and advised us on the necessary township permits to avoid delays. The plan was executed exactly as designed, on time and within budget. The in-law suite contains a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette and living room with huge windows facing East and South. The unit has independent exterior access as well as its own electrical run and central air conditioning unit. Our mother is very happy with the results and proudly shows off her living space to anyone who visits.

Went well. They came in on time, were great to work with and were up front with any cost changes. They listened to concerns and redid things if we had any issues. This only happened once when we had the wrong shower bench tile color, but they acknowledged and replaced ASAP. The workmanship is very good...we are really pleased with our bathrooms. As with any contractor, make sure you double check each day just to ensure things are as you expected.

Be prepared for additional unexpected costs if you are doing a major Reno, especially in an older home. Ours came in over the original quote because there was underlying damage from previous owners (i.e. Knob and tubing, shower drain the wrong way so damage to ceilings and floors, cutting of a support joist that had to be repaired, etc). 3r was really good about showing us everything as they discovered it and helping us determine the best repair options with very fair pricing. very glad they caught these too!

    Millenium Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling
We worked with Kip extensively.  He provided excellent design and strategic advice when it came to designing the kitchen cabinets, coffered ceiling work, the loft in the bedroom, master closet and bathroom.  We had a few hiccups along the way but Kip and his crew were responsive and worked through all the issues.  We are really pleased by the work and key for us was that we stayed in scope and on budget.

Remove wet insulation. Paint to prevent mold. Clear attic soffits to improve air circulation. Spray foam insulation throughout. They kept the area surrounding the work site clean. Disposed of all debris. Gave choices in the work to be done (regular vs foam insulation). Were personable and easy to deal with. Showed up on time and finished when expected- we were expecting company!

    AGL Spray Foam Insulation
I spoke with John about a small spray foam project. He gave me some honest information about the size of the job and some possible alternatives so I can do it myself  - since it was such a small job. John was very friendly and willing to offer advice without trying to up-sell me to something I didn't need. I will definitely call him again when I have a project that truly needs his services.

NJ-PA Energy Group dba The Insulation Group
Salesman arrived and performed an energy audit for us, along with a quote for new attic insulation with their Ultramax Super R radiant barrier. Energy audit consisted of a laser-based temperature sensor, we walked around looking for gaps and cracks, bad windows, etc. No airflow measurements or anything like that. While useful to an extent, I was expecting more since it was billed as an and quot;energy auditand quot;. We went into the attic and checked the amount of blown-in insulation we currently have, which was about R10 of cellulose. He laser-measured the attic size, we went downstairs and he explained the Ultramax product.
Similar to another company I have dealt with, this had the flavor of a high-pressure pitch and he was at the house for a good hour or so. We were given information about other radiant barrier products, provided a demonstration on theirs and how it is superior, and provided with a cost in the range of $10,000 for a 20ft x 40ft attic. If we signed now, there was a discount, and if we waited 30 days, there was a higher cost. The excuse for that was more or less the waste of time and gas to come out again if we wanted to purchase. This just doesn't make sense to me as every other reputable company will give a 30-90 day quote with none of this and quot;give us money now for a discountand quot; pricing garbage, and there is no need for another visit. The salesman lied about the product having R10 built-in, as explained in videos by Attic Foil, another company out there. Do your research first! While the product supposedly would pay for itself in a few years, you can do it yourself with Attic Foil for a few hundred dollars. Or, get a reputable contractor from here on Angie's List and I'm sure they can do it for much less.
I would not recommend NJ-PA Energy Group, based on the high-pressure sales tactic and deceptive information about their product.

Our overall experience was an A+. All workers were courteous, professional, knowledgeable and very neat. Everyone
showed enthusiasm for their job and checked in daily to see how else they could assist.  Everyone was flexible, as with most construction projects small changes were made throughout the effort.
