    Everdry Basement Waterproofing
Within a few days of calling Everdry Basement Waterproofing, a representative came to our house and provided us with a variety of options and payment plans. The representative was very professional and understanding. At no time did we feel pressured to make a commitment. After agreeing to have Everdry Company fix our water problem, a crew from Everdry showed up daily on time and as scheduled. They were courteous and their work ethic was phenomenal. They successfully completed the work in the time required and even put in extra hours as necessary in order to meet specific deadlines. The job foreman remained in constant contact with us, briefing us on everything that was happening and getting our approval if needed. My wife was so impressed; she made them homemade cupcakes. Its been 8 years since the Everdry Waterproofing Company completed the job and we have not seen one drop of water in our basement. We have since remodeled our entire basement and it now serves as our functional family room. We have peace of mind knowing that our basement has, and remains to be, free from water damage. If you have a water damage basement and need waterproofing and foundation repair, I strongly recommend the Everdry Waterproofing Company to be the company you chose.

    Rick Page Quality Landscaping
I have had water problems from a hill behind my home and have had several French drains installed, but they never fixed the problem. I called several landscape contractors and they all recommended an additional French drain that would require heavy equipment and possible damage to mature trees. All of their quotes exceeded $8,000. I called Rick and he surveyed the problem and recommended a swale or dry creek bed to divert the surface water, as a French drain could not handle the volume of water coming off of the hill during downpours with already saturated ground. I went with Rick and could not be happier. His crew was prompt, professional, and barely disturbed the existing lawn. A day or two after completion there was a considerable downpour that uncovered a few unforseen problems through no fault of Rick. I called Rick and his crew came back, and problem solved, I was so impressed that there was never a question about coming back right away and making everything right. I highly recommend Rick Page Landscaping

    The Basement Guys - Pittsburgh
A company rep came to my house to see what needed to be done and he gave me a quote for the work. There was no pressure selling. When it came for the work to be done, it took just 3 hours and the guy that came to do it was very professional. He explained what he was going to do before he started, and put drop cloths down to keep things tidy. He left no mess when he had finished. The process he used involves applying some resin to the wall. The smell can be quite strong for a few hours but it was limited to the basement. The final result looks good. I have 6 carbon fiber straps between the basement floor and the house sill plate. One strap every 4 feet. The straps are 8 inches wide and only about 1/8th of an inch thick, so they don't take up any basement space. All the cracks in the wall have been filled with epoxy filler. The process does not fix the bow in the wall, it just locks it in place.

We hired them to remodel our house. Paid them over $170,000. They never finished anything. Our deck is out of code, we have no roof, working electricity, no working plumbing, a bay window that is about to fall out. They do not return calls or show up. They started in March. We use to have a livable house and now we can't get an occupancy permit.

A-1 Concrete Leveling & Foundation Repair
The job went very well. They came at the time they said they would arrive, they raised and stabilized the steps, and did it all very efficiently, quickly and cleanly. I would recommend their work and would hire the again.

Matt Mertz Plumbing-Trenchless Sewer Repair Expert
My experience with this company has been thoroughly positive including interactions with Matt the owner, Lisa and Kelly in the office, and especially Shawn and Steve who did the work.
After I learned my sewer line was collapsed, the guys worked hard for two straight days in sub-zero temperatures (the coldest days of February 2015, itself a record-setting month) to replace my entire sewer line including clean-outs and vent.  They were friendly and answered my questions without hesitation while working.  I got to learn a lot about the problem and its solution.
Due to the extreme cold, the dirt was quite frozen and difficult for them to tamp down.  It left a high mound along the length of the sewer line which they said should settle pretty well when it thawed, but that if there were still problems to get in touch because Matt was good about keeping customers happy.  Several months later the dirt had settled significantly but was still raised a good bit.  When I got in touch with the office, Shawn and Steve were at my house on the same day to take care of it.  Needless to say, the end result looks fantastic.
One convenient thing for me through all of this was that the company is available via email, and very responsive at that.  Usually my questions wouldn't require an immediate answer and it was much easier to send an email, knowing the information would make it to the right people, rather than stepping away from my desk at work to make a phone call.
If you're looking for a plumber, I can strongly suggest hiring or at least getting a quote from Matt Mertz Plumbing.

Honey Do List & That, LLC
We wanted to have some closets built in our basement to store kids toys and other things like holiday decorations.
We had envisioned putting a closet along one part of the wall in the basement.
After hearing our plans, Dave politely suggested that that wouldn't solve our storage issue and while he would do what we wanted, he suggested that we box in part of the basement with 2 walls to make a storage room. Then we could put whatever shelves we wanted in it and adapt it as time went by.
We liked his idea and he gave us an estimate ($2500). Dave is very friendly and very knowledgeable and we were impressed.
We had one other quote for our original idea, and it was like $3400. So we decided to go with Dave and got on his schedule.
He was on-time each day of the project and finished a day earlier than he had allotted.
The cost for the storage room was exactly what he had estimated ($2500).
We paid an extra $300 for the stuff that we added on so we could get some other minor things done while he was here (and I say minor, because they were minor for him, not because I could have done them myself):
Install 2 new outlets (one in basement, one in master bath), and remove some tacky shelving.
Dave does excellent work, and is willing to explain anything and everything you want to know (I asked a lot of questions because I like to learn stuff from the people I pay to work on my house).
He cleans up after he is done working in an area and is willing to work around my schedule (he was willing to wait to switch off the power until I could afford to drop my internet access and so forth).
He previously had done some drywall patching for us, which is what let us to asking him about the closet idea.
Finding a guy that can do a wide variety of things (electrical, drywall, framing, etc.) well is very hard. And we found one.
I would definitely use him again when I need to do the next thing.

    J & B Remodeling and Design
Overall, the project went very well.  It took a little longer than expected, but we were happy with the results in the end.  Jason listened to what we wanted and made some recommendations to make things better.  They were patient with our changes and additions through the process too.  There were a couple of minor issues along the way.  Two guys that were working on our project were let go and some things were lost in the process.  We also realized that they weren't communicating back to Jason what we wanted to do.  From our understanding, this is one of the reasons they were let go.  Jason and his team worked to make everything right and it all worked out in the end to our satisfaction.

    J & B Remodeling and Design
Anyone who wants to re-do any part of their house needs to call J&B! Jason won us over with his excellent manner during the initial quoting / consultation process and he, Brienna, and his whole team have communicated extremely well since before the job began. They have made some extremely thoughtful and helpful suggestions about a wide range of topics - some of which my wife and I had not thought of. The whole team is hard-working, punctual, and expert.

As of today (September 19, 2014), they are about 1/2 way through the entire job, and the first floor is very nearly finished. The basement is up next, and I can tell this is going to be a job very well done; I will be sure to update this review and include some photos once it is complete. We are thrilled at this point and very happy with our decision to choose J&B.

*UPDATE - all work is now done! They finished up around 5 weeks after the start, which was right on schedule. Ours is a totally different house now, and I can officially say it was well worth it. Jason and his entire team were excellent throughout and even did a small bit of work that was not in the contract at no charge for us. I have other things in mind for this house, and you can be sure I will be contacting J&B to have them done.

8 Point Construction & Remodeling Inc
We highly recommend 8 Point Construction.  We had three contractors bid on finishing our basement.  8 Point was the first to get their proposal back to us.  They were also the least expensive. They were able to start the job 2 weeks after we met, which was sooner than anyone else was available.  They were professional and courteous.  They showed up timely at 8:00 AM every morning and completed the job in the time promised.  They had good ideas on how to design things and the finished product looks great.  They were prompt in their communication and always returned calls and emails.  They also replaced our attic steps and did some minor siding repair as well.   I would highly recommend them.
