After calling for an estimate, Charity asked me to give them a chance to give an estimate. I waited for their estimate and chose them because Charity and Jose were so professional and nice. Jose was GREAT as the foreman of the crew who did the work. They did a good job when they did the work in Oct of 2016. It looked great. However, 5 months later plants that they were supposed to have removed grew up through the asphalt. Jose came by to look and said they would fix the issue. I called the office NINE TIMES between April and October to try to get them to fix the holes in the driveway. Charity told us numerous times they were going to fix it. She asked me t OK entrust her. She told my husband once that they would be here on Thurs or Friday if that week, but they never came. They are now closed for the winter. After 13 months of nagging Charity in the office, this week (Nov 13, 2017) we finally paid to have someone else fix our driveway before the winter snows did further damage. We will NEVER use this company again and will tell family, neighbors and friends about our experience. Very disappointing.

I originally called D and H Paving. Apparently, from what I could figure out, they would not take the check for D and H Paving when they came. They said they were a different name. So it looked to me like D and H Paving sub-contracted this work out to somebody else. It ended up being somebody by the name of Henry Carroll. It cost $300. I thought it was high. The top coat is starting to wear off even now and it has not even been a year. I thought the price was higher than it should have been. My interaction with them was fine. I thought it was a little light. It could have been put on a little heavier.

It was great. They did very good. I use them year round. They do all my lawn care and all my snow removal. They trim the shrubs. They just do everything. I've had them for 12 years. They usually come once a week. The workers are great. Mowing for me is $52, including the tax. That's trimming, blowing off - the whole nine yards. They pick it up and take it away for me too.

Perfectly. Our old driveway was in disrepair. I called Community Paving because they were doing the same job at a neighbor's driveway. They had an adequate fleet of equipment and crew to get the job done quickly and efficiently. When I called (on a Tuesday), I found out that he had another driveway scheduled in our neighborhood on Thursday. The owner, who was onsite at that job, walked up the street and called me right back with a quote. Their quote was well within range (at the lower end) than previous ones we have gotten over the years. We were able to get ours done the next day when they were back in the neighborhood (Thurs).
The owner Greg Myers was out at the site (our residence) first thing making sure that everything was in order between our house and our neighbors. He introduced himself and showed up at the end to inspect the job. You can tell that he takes great pride in the work that his company produces. He's said he was very happy with the results. We were 'thrilled' with the result. It has totally transformed the look of the front of our house. Incredible curb appeal. Not only is the paving seamless (and our driveway is 20" wide). They also edged the sides, sprayed for weeds, placed a nice ribbing at the end of the driveway --and took it the whole way out to the road. We had about a 6" gap where the road must have met the driveway at one point, but when repaving the road workers had not come over as far. They graded it so that when it rains it should go past our yard now and run straight down the road. They guarantee their work for two years (the recommended amount), but if you check around many only guarantee their work for one. With proper sealing, Mr. Myers said it should last us 30 years.
I highly recommended this company for their quality of work, professionalism, and honest business practices. I knew that it would look better, but wow!

Never showed up to do the work. Made repeated efforts to contact him by phone and email to his business. Got his personal cell number from a third party and called him. Lots of excuses and apologies. New start date set for mid-September. Not happy with the new start date and began having suspicions. Started doing some research. Bad review on business Facebook page as well as Angie's List. Found out that Byers had never ordered the materials from his supplier nor had he ever applied for a building permit. Sent him a certified letter effectively firing him  and requesting our deposit be returned. Gave him a deadline to return the money. He missed it and I filed a report with the police. Byers called me after I had contacted the police and he promised me I would get my money. He just needed more time. I gave him one more week or I would follow through with criminal charges. He refunded our entire deposit on the last day of his extension. I have heard that he has done this before. I told him if he returned our money that I would not pursue criminal charges.

We purchased the house about a year and a half ago and had to repair the garage door system- unsure how old it was, but it was pretty old, it didn't even have safety cables on the springs! Now, it works perfectly and is much quieter than before.
Mike, one of the owners, was awesome. He came out a couple of times to do the estimate and complete the work, which required three trips- once to work on the spings and cables, once to install the weather-stripping, and once to install some wood along the base of the garage door to get the weather-stripping to go all the way down to the ground. As I said, it was a very old garage door system. For the estimate, Mike walked us through everything, explaining exactly what was needed and why. He was on time, called when he was on the way, and a very nice gentleman. He even offered to set up the transmitter in my car to open the garage door for me.
Heather, the office manager, always returned calls promptly and helped us schedule the work.
We will definitely call them when we are ready to replace the garage door.

First of all I want to say that after I read the previous reviews I was shocked.  My experience was quite different.  Larry was exceptionally fast to respond to my initial inquiry and came the same day to hear what I wanted to do.  He then came back two days later with a quote that I was pleased with so we drew up a contract.  I was also pleased with the efficiency of completing the job (considering they lost 3 days due to the rain).  I would definately recommend him.  It was really hard to find someone that was willing to do this job for us.  Most places we called wouldn't do it at all or would do only the excavating or only the concrete pouring.  After reading the negative reviews that were posted mostly over 1 year ago I did ask Larry about them.  He explained to me that he had some problems with previous workers that are no longer with the company.  I made sure to tell him to use me as a reference for further business as I have a brother-in-law that worked in a similar field and I know most of his work came from referrals.

Got quotes from several contractors and selected this company because they were the lowest bid. The contractor gave me three references. I contacted each of them. They all gave good reviews. I live in a homeowner association development and I had to get approval from the association before starting any work. As part of the approval process, the contractor provided a hand-drawn sketch of the project including dimensions of the change and proximity to the home & property line.
The contractor didn't do all of the work himself - he had several crew members working on the project. They broke up the existing sidewalk and it took them longer than normal because of the poor way the existing sidewalk was constructed. They built the forms fairly quickly and put in 3/4 stone as a sub-base. The project took longer in the beginning because he had several projects going at the same time, so it was a few weeks until they were able to pour the new sidewalk. They used 3500psi mix concrete.
They removed the forms, took away all of the old concrete, swept the concrete to give it a non-slip texture and graded the dirt around the sidewalks to match the existing lawn. As a last step, they applied sealer to all of the sidewalks.
In all, it took two months to complete the project.

A neighbor had a walkway & patio done at their house & recommended Western Maryland.  I called them, left a message, and the owner called back later that day.  Within a week, he was at out house to see exactly what we wanted done and offered some helpful suggestions.  A friend & I removed out existing deck (minus the inground pylons) but we weren't able to remove the lumber from the backyard.  When they arrived, not only did they remove the pylons from the ground, they removed the deck lumber at no additional cost.  And when I realized that in the planning stage that we didn't include steps from our sliding glass door to the new stamped concrete patio, we were able to add them to the plans without any problems!  While we aren't planning on any additional concrete work, if we were, we would definitely use them again!!

We needed to replace a 33 year old garage door system.
All parts were failing, including the door and door opener unit.
We shopped around this area at several businesses and settled on Cumberland Garage Doors.
They went out of their way to explain what is available and show us different products.
When we decided what we wanted, they offered different payment plans.
We ordered in mid-winter and they installed in mid-winter ALL without any glitches.
We are so very happy with what we have there now compared to the old door.
Everyone tells us how 'pretty or nice or fancy' that door looks on our home.
My wife even added some magnetic winter birds to accent this already beautiful door.
We comment often just how much difference simply changing that door system made on the house.
We certainly would refer anyone to this business at anytime.
    Thank you
