    Davis Contracting
The overall experience was fantastic. Todd was very professional and knew the best way to accomplish what I was trying to do. He had great communication with myself and my husband along the entire process. I have tried to hire other contractors in the past and felt like they we ripping me off, his pricing is very reasonable and fair. I would highly recommend this contractor.

    McCann Home Improvement Pittsburgh
It went GREAT! I have a small bathroom in an 100 year old house. This was the first big job we've done. I had visions of what I wanted and Anthony guided me through the process to make it happen. Anthony's ultimate goal was to make to me happy with the final product. Anthony and his team are meticulous in their work and he wants everything PERFECT! The attention to detail in the custom subway tile is amazing and we now have a custom, functional, beautiful bathroom. Another other thing I'd like to mention is character. Remodel fell during our family vacation time and I had NO problem with Anthony and his team being in our house while we were away. And finally, I have an almost 80 year old father who is a retired contractor. Anthony and his team were patient and respectful, even though I KNOW my dad delayed their progress at first. Needless to say my dad stopped coming by b/c he knew he no longer needed to supervise! Thanks again Anthony!

    Gilbert Tile
Bill Gilbert arrived for estimate two days after initial contact. House was built in 1956. Original owner installed 4" plastic tile in entire bathroom, including around tub/shower. Bill was the only remodeler I contacted who thought it possible to replace only the area around the tub/shower. His estimate was $3,000 less than closest.. One contractor wanted to gut entire bathroom at $12,000 +. Others wanted to do the tub surround system. Bill and Bob arrived on time and started to remove existing tile and plaster. After five minutes, it became apparent that the side wall was soaked through to the studs because original tile had not been sealed and no moisture barrier installed. Apprentice previous owners only took baths. Side wall plaster and studs were soaked up to a height of about 6 feet, and some moisture damage had started on back of bedroom wall, adjacent. After some consultation, we decided it was best to take out a small section of the bedroom wall and install extra studs beside the ones that had been water damaged. This added about 3 hours to the project total time estimate. Bill and Bob were fast, efficient and, I might add, great to work with. Funny guys. Project lasted 2 1/2 days. They tore out existing tile and walls, cut out a 3 x 5 section at the base of the bedroom wall, added insulation to the exterior bathroom wall, then installed cement board, including in the section of bedroom wall removed. Installed and ducted ceiling fan, which required working in the the tight. hot attic in 90-degree temps. Installed ceramic tile in tub/shower area. Installed new scald-proof faucet, shower head and faucet. Taped and sanded bedroom wall replacement section, making it paint-ready with no additional prep work required by me. Cleaned thoroughly. hauled away old materials. I would not hesitate to fire Bill again for any further kitchen/bathroom remodeling.

It went great! It took a while to get on the schedule but they showed up on the day they scheduled even with it being far in advance. The work was done meticulously and AJ couldn't have be nicer. I would highly recommend this company to anyone based on this experience.

    Gilbert Tile
I had a prompt response and received an estimate quickly. He was willing to build a closet in our bathroom as requested, but not willing to do any cut outs in the shower walls (for shampoo etc.). Also I have an awkward door into the bathroom that blocks the hall and wanted to find a way to make a some type of a sliding door, but he said I'm better off just keeping it as is. This is our main bathroom and I have some specific requests. I just dont think it was the right fit for what I'm looking for on this job

    RK Construction LLC
I met with Ryan Klimovich, the owner of RK Construction, a few weeks ago at my house. He came out to do an estimate on finishing a room on the lower level, as well as update an adjoining bathroom. Ryan was right on time for our appointment and he was professional throughout. He took his time to carefully evaluate the space and the ideas we had in mind for our planned renovation. He certainly did not rush anything. By the time we were done looking at the rooms (about an hour later), he left me with a much greater understanding of the details of the job. We've never done a major renovation, so this was all new to me. Ryan made it easy to understand.
A few weeks later, we received a follow-up phone call and a detailed estimate about the job. Ryan advised that we not do the bathroom because the proposed upgrades that we wanted were going to cost more than the improved value of the room. I loved the honesty that he had, even while this advice was possibly taking money out of his pocket. He also explained that we could go through his estimate and pick and choose what we wanted to do, add or remove things, or upgrade/downgrade components that he had listed (i.e., save some money by buying less expensive windows).  Because he laid everything out so clearly, this made us understand where our money would be going.
That said, we've decided to hold off for now on getting the work done. I think Ryan's estimate was very fair for the amount of work that was being described. However, my wife and I greatly underestimated what our project would entail. We would have only been able to do a small portion of the work in the room, and we didn't want to do that. I plan on holding onto Ryan's estimate and giving him a call sometime in the near future when we've set a little more money aside for this project.

    Pittsburgh Painting and Drywall
It went well.  The owner John Scumaci responded quickly to all our calls and was able to come out and give us a free estimate the day after we contacted him.  We agreed to the price and John and his worker came the next day.  It was a two day project and they called each time before coming and they were punctual each time.  The wall came out really well and he cleaned up when he was done.  We would definitely call him again if the need arises.

    Quality Granite Outlet
Wonderful experience from start to finish! After pricing laminate and being shocked at the cost, we decided to price granite after receiving a recommendation from a family friend for Quality Granite. I checked their website and decided that their promotional Package B granite at $38 SF installed would probably work fine for us. We were assisted at their showroom by a very friendly, professional woman named Hong who worked up a quick quote based on the 45 SF estimate we gave her - $1,950 total for a Package B granite, single-bowl sink and single-handled faucet. I was very happy with the price!
Two days later, their estimator, Vincent, came to measure the cabinets. What a wonderful guy! He was efficient, thoughtful and very helpful. We had a few questions and he took the time to thoroughly explain everything to us. After he had finished in the kitchen, we asked him if he could take a quick look at our shower which we were getting ready to tile. We wanted a granite or marble seat & threshold. He quickly measured them and advised us to come to the showroom to select a material so it could be priced. Then, to my surprise, the next day he called to let me know he was in the area and asked if he could make a template of the shower seat! That's real customer service! We went to the showroom that weekend and found a lovely granite remnant for those two pieces which added only $100 (furnish only) to our bill.
Missy called to confirm our pricing and set the installation date. I asked her if I could choose my slab and she sent me to Mont Granite in Crafton - again, I was really happy with the customer service there as well! Just a few days after I chose the granite, Quality Granite contacted me to let me know they could move up my installation by 3 days but we weren't quite ready so I had to decline.
On installation day (only one week later!), Vincent along with another gentleman returned. They did a great job navigating our old house to get the larger, L-shaped granite into the kitchen. The hole for the faucet was drilled out onsite. They installed the counters, bar, sink and they placed the faucet - we did the plumbing. I would say the entire install took maybe 2 hours (?). We are thrilled with our beautiful new counter tops and I've recommended Quality Granite to several people already!

    A J BUERKLE PLUMBING HEATING & A/C CO

We had been away for several weeks and when we got home and my husband turned the water on, water from the second floor bathroom poured into the first floor kitchen through the ceiling and into the bath through the ceiling and the fan vent.  It even ran down the walls into the basement. Fortunately, my husband could turn off the water to the second floor without disrupting the water to the rest of the house. This happened on a Sunday and we knew service charges would probably be higher than on a weekday. So we called Mr. Buerkle on Monday.  He came out to assess the damage and gave us an estimate of repair costs, explaining that he couldn't be specific until the ceiling was opened and he could see exactly what needed to be done.

His plumber, Ron, arrived about 2 days later and completed the work in one very long day without a break (no pun intended).Ron

was careful to cover the floors and sink, etc. to avoid  material from the ceiling damaging anything and he also cleaned up and hauled away everything.  He also gave me some of the burst pipes to show the insurance adjuster.

Because there had been water in the ceilings, we had to allow all of that to dry before having the ceilings closed up and Ron wanted to make sure there were no residual leaks.  There were no more leaks.

So a week or two later another person, I think Mr. Buerkle referred to him as a finisher, came to close up the ceiling and texture it to match the parts that hadn't been opened.  He was not an employee of Mr. Buerkle's, so he was paid separately.  The work he did was excellent.

We were so pleased by Mr. Buerkle's quick response and the workmanship of his employees and subcontractors (if that's an accurate term)for this problem, that we hired him to replace the stationary tubs and drain in our laundry room and then tear out and remodel our basement bathroom.  Again, we're very satisfied with all of the work that was done.
