    This chair is now as solid as it could ever have been. Roy reworked all of the loose joints, repaired two broken pieces in a manner that even a diligent observer would have a hard time finding and then pinned the joints so that they would not come loose for another 65 years. He does all of the work himself and is extremely knowledgeable on furniture repair. He finished the repair in about 3 months and claimed to have spent less than 4 hours on it. With the work he did, I suspect it was more time but I think that it is his way of providing good value for very good craftsmanship.

    Mr. Lindstrom returned my initial call promptly and discussed how he would handle the job. We took the pieces to his shop, about an hour from our house, talked to him about how he would do the repair. It's a small shop, he seems to be the sole employee, and he's busy. But he's very good at his work, has much experience, and I felt confident leaving the pieces with him. It took him about twice as long as we'd anticipated, but we just picked them up and he did an amazing job. The cost was considerably less than I'd expected. I would definitely recommend this business as long as you aren't in a hurry to get the work done.

    I was very disappointed. My dryer sounds the same and is doing the same thing as when I called but now it is getting worse. I spent that money for nothing. I am upset but do not have the money to get it repaired by someone else. I would not use them again. Now I have to get someone else to come out and fix it right. The tech did come on time and on the day he said he would. He was punctual.

    My business relationship with the proprietor of Smith's appliances covers a time span of well over 30 years. In today's market a business relationship of that length of time gives testimony this consumer's trust and satisfaction. Smith's is the local vendor fo GE appliances. You will likely find the same product for less at the "big box" national chains; if price is your only criterion shop elsewhere. When purchasing our washer and dryer we walked into the store with the intention of buying the newer style front loading models. The owner told us that he would willingly sell us what we were looking for but prompted us to reconsider. The more traditional top loading machines were, in his view, quite able to meet our needs for hundreds of dollars less. Yes, perhaps the newer style is a bit more efficient, but not enough so to justify the additional expense for this "empty nest" couple. And, yes, the "big box" store had the same units for less, but one must wonder if their sales staff would have directed us to the less expensive model. Delivery, installation, and removal of the old machines was included in the preice. We were treated with courtesy, respect, and good humor. These are all good reasons to shop at Smith Appliance Store.

    It was a good experience. They were helpful, and they had exactly what I was looking for. I found something on the floor, and they delivered it a week later. I wrote down the time wrong, so I was not home when they arrived but they called me and waited til I got there, which I very much appreciated.

    Buyer Beware! Inflexible Store Policies!? I recently shopped at the market, and while they have a store filled with antiques, the shopper needs to be aware that ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Period. No room for discussion. I bought a mirror that I thought would be perfect for my home. Unfortunately when I got home, it was 6 inches too wide. I called the store immediately and explained my dilemma, and was told I'd have to wait until the next day for the store manager. He explained that he would have to ask the seller, who firmly stated that she would not take the mirror back. Forget about a dealer showing regard for another dealer. Forget about ensuring customer satisfaction. I have a store and do everything I can to make sure my customers come back, and that INCLUDES bending my rules. I even offered to spend the money on another mirror on the premises and that wasn't allowed. That store has lost this customer. Buyer beware~ make absolutely sure you want whatever you are buying because they will not let you return it!

    This is a great place to buy appliances from. We shopped around Carlisle and found that the prices here were the same as in Lowe's and Home Depot, but even better because Carlisle Electronics would deliver and install them for free! Jeff, our salesman was nice and knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. The delivery was on time, and the delivery guys were very nice as well, and careful that everything made it to it's designated location without any scratches. They even moved our old fridge to the basement for us. Carlisle Appliances even handled the processing of our rebates, so we didn't have to worry about forgetting to do it ourselves.
