    Paul S Lombardo Vmd
He?s been very good. I mean I?ve had dogs all my life and I just lost a dog a couple years ago, and he just passed at 17. ?Haven?t gotten any since, probably won?t because I?m getting too old. Paul Lombardo, we?ve had him probably 15/20 years. For overall, I would give him a ?B? because sometimes you have to wait there, not too punctua. Price, I always thought he was a little high. He does quality work. He?s always took good care of our animals and still does. He is very responsive towards our needs. My wife is still using him for the cat. I don?t think I?m going to get any more animals. I wasn?t even there. My wife said everything went well, he just got his shots, didn?t even flinch whenever he got them. That tells you something about the doctor.

Our one kitty who needed the extensive combing out was very nervous and reacted with some growling and hissing, but the tech is very capable and handled him in a loving yet stern manner and was able to complete the grooming.  Quinn is 17-1/2 and suffered injuries as a small kitten and sometimes gets very emotional.  The staff is always understanding with situations like this.  We've been with Dr. Sandy  Vaghetto for about 16 years.

    Pine Village Vet
She's further away and I worried about any emergency because my dog was older and my cat was very sick. I don't want to have to drive an hour and a half through traffic. She's very good. Our neighbor is a vet tech for her and they're pretty good. The cost is not as much as the other veterinarian. The price isn't really too bad. They also have emergency service like at night. The price is not a problem. She's in a very populated area and it's heavy traffic. It would be hard to get through there if you have an emergency. The quality is fine. She's very good. I might use her again if I have a younger animal.

We have been there several times and always have had great results. We had our dog Brinkley shampooed, cut and nails clipped. Our dog loves going there and never leaves not wanting to go back like as if it was going to The Vet. Mary has always worked with me on scheduling whether over the phone or over the internet emailing her.

Amshel's Home Pet Sitting Service, LLC

Our dogs love going to Amshel's Home Pet Sitting Service, and as the pet's care takers - we love leaving them in her capable hands.  Our dogs Chloe and Sophie return from a vacation at Gail's house practically exhausted from the amount of fun they have.  It literally takes them days to recover from all the playing and fun they have with her and they get so excited as we near her home because they know where they're going while we travel.

We were both taken back by Gail's nice home which has clearly been tweaked over the years of being a pet owner which results in it being the perfect location for dog sitting in our minds.  It features a large fenced in yard with open areas to play and trails which provide plenty of room for the dogs to roam and snoop around with a very secure fence and gate to prohibit accidental escape.  Her home has a pet door to allow the dogs to come and go as they please, but I don't believe my dogs learned how to use it just yet.  I was surprised when Gail asked us questions like "Do your dogs like to sleep in bed with you" and "Do they like to swim" because after seeing her beautiful home and pool... I would never imagine anyone wanting my two rambunctious pups anywhere near her nice in ground pool, but she welcomes swimmers and even those pampered dogs who believe in sleeping in bed!   I was worried if we'd be welcome back after I learned my more eager pup attempted to help Gail do some unplanned gardening the one day, but being the true animal lover she is when I asked if we were welcome back after the incident she responded shockingly saying "I hope these two girls will come back to see me!"

In addition to the standard pet sitting, Gail offers an ala carte list of services, some of which we've taken advantage of.  Things like extra walks, etc. which our dogs absolutely love and made us realize she truly does provide an amazing service.

While our dogs get along with just about anyone on two legs or four, I appreciate that Gail will not combine guests at her home unless the four legged guests have met and she has determined they're friendly with each other, and only with each owner's permission which is spectacular.  We've had visits where our pets were there on their own or there with another family's dog, and each service has gone without a hitch.

During one visit we were delayed on our flights home and Gail graciously waited up very late for us and even offered to keep the dogs an extra night which was extremely appreciated.  When other providers we "vetted" were much more concerned with "Where can I drop the dogs off if you don't get home on time," when the issue actually happened Gail was overly accommodating for our situation which we really appreciated.

I don't have any specifics handy in regard to the services provided for cost paid with each visit, but I seem to recall our last being approximately $250 for both dogs to stay at her home and get extra walks each day over a 3 day weekend.  I'll simply say you get what you pay for and while I originally though it was a tad pricey, in all honesty I had nothing to compare the prices to.  In the end I'll just say that the peace of mind that comes from having Amshel's Pet Sitting Services care for our dogs while we travel and seeing the happiness of our well exercised dogs upon our return has translated into me feeling it is absolutely money well spent and I've never considered looking for another provider.

We plan to use Amshel's Home Pet Sitting service for as long as we live in the region and truly appreciate the terrific service she provides.  She is an absolute pet lover and allows us to travel without worrying about our pets being in good care.

They did an examination and brought me an estimate on how much everything would cost. They clearly explained the cost differences between the different choices I could make on the types of medications my cat was getting. They were very professional and good with my cat. The prices are pretty good too. I will use this vet in the future. In fact, I am taking another one of my sick cats to them in a couple of days. This price included his examination, ears being cleaned, an antibiotic, worming medicine, and ear mite medicine with ear cleaning solution.

    Eljay's PerFECT-A-Pooch

The owner/trainers, Larry and Josh, are dedicated to canine training using behavioral responses rather than treats as the method. You have to see it to understand it--it is highly effective. Clearly they care very much for the dogs in their care. My Molly took to them immediately, and it is best to trust a dog in that judgment. They took to Molly immediately as well. Toward the end of the week I was brought into the training area to observe Molly's training and then to start with it myself. Then I was responsible for continuing training at home as well. At the end they made a video of a run-through of commands. My dog responded as I hoped and it is clear in the video that Molly and Josh had a nice bond. The same was true at the front desk area where Larry spent time. He held her, she only weighs 8.6 pounds) and socialized her with other large dogs they had trained. One great moment came when I walked in and Molly was napping on the back of a napping gigantic Newfoundland.

I have found in training my dog over the first couple years of her life that she is quite intelligent, and if training fails it is the owner, not the dog, who fails to carry through. I recommend this business to anyone seeking dog training.

Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center
With Cat #1 Dr. Payne was very patient and thorough.  He showed us the digital x-rays and where he saw the cancer.  He spoke with the oncology people there but this type of bone cancer in felines was very rare and they didn't recommend chemotherapy.  We chose amputation based on Dr. Payne's feeling that this would "cure" the cancer.  The surgery was done well but was h****** the cat to adapt to losing a front leg.  About four months later the cancer did return to a back leg.  Dr. Payne was very surprised by this and we do not fault him.  We believe his recommendation to amputate was well thought out.

Cat #2 We chose to pay the $250 emergency fee rather than wait for our vet to fill out the referral forms and wait for an opening.  There was nothing they could do.

My mother's cat was taken right away.  Her vet called PVSEC which I think helped get him in quickly.  They were very good with my brother staying in a room the second day with the cat for several hours.  We believed this helped the cat's mental state and gave him the "will" to live.  He did eventually recover but has weakness in his back legs.  The bill including MRI was thousands.

Good: These vets are the best around unless you want to travel to Penn vet school.

Bad: the referral process and waiting for an appointment can take a long time.  If you go emergency the cost is high to begin with and then you don't usually see a specialist.  It is expensive, but you are getting more than general care.

It went all right, but their prices were high. Their location was the closest and most convenient for us so we used them. They are our normal veterinarian. I like them, but they are awful expensive. They take care of just about any animal and their service is good.

I really like the veterinarian from Moraine Grove Vet Clinic. Her clinic is not really handicap accessible. I had difficulty walking. It was kind of a long walk to the front door. She is certainly is sincere and is here for her patients. The routine care is great. They give the animal great compassion and great respect. They are an emergency clinic and they are always available. They do all their own blood work on site. They did a really good care for my dog. I do find their price a little bit high but I understand why it’s high. They are very pleasant to work with.
