    Hutton Painting & Remodeling
We are very pleased with the quality of service and the responsiveness we received from the entire team at Hutton. Although our project was small, it required several trades and the coordination of a few third parties. Hutton took the lead on the project as necessary, supplied all trades people, and coordinated with third parties. All the work performed was excellent and they remained flexible when timelines were skewed by others ensuring completion of the project in time for Christmas. This was an unplanned kitchen project which was required because of a long-standing, undetected dishwasher leak. Demolition of some cabinets, including the sink base, and removal of the countertop were necessary. Demolition is too strong a word to use because the cabinet fronts and drawers had to be preserved; care was necessary. Hutton built a temporary sink base for us so we'd have water in the kitchen, and they contracted with a custom woodworker who built two new cabinet interiors and reattached the existing cabinet fronts and drawers. At completion of the project, no one would know which cabinets were original and which were replacements. They realized our budget was an issue, so recommended sources who were more reasonable than ones we had found ourselves. This allowed us make some improvements in our bathrooms as well. An unscrupulous contractor could have easily highjacked our project and turned it into a total remodel. Because the Hutton team is ethical and resourceful, they worked with us to limit the scope, limit the cost, and ensured it didn't creep out of control. I recommend them highly.

    Handyman Matters South Pittsburgh
I am giving this low rating because they were not willing to pay a visit to my home to inspect the job for which they were quoting. I provided one picture to them via email, and they responded with details that included their hourly rates, service charges, and options for the purchase of materials. Without visual inspection of the job site, how can anyone anticipate the scope of work needed? This was a small job, but I know from past experience that small jobs can morph into large ones quickly if all things are not considered from the start. Other contractors were willing to pay a visit to properly quote and estimate; I am moving forward with one of them.

    McClelland Home Maintenance
I am a long distance landlord. I have worked with many contractors. It has been my experience that it is not unusual to not be called back, to have exorbitant estimates (maybe because I am female, maybe because I am out of town), to not show up, to not be totally upfront and do incomplete work (again, maybe because I am out of town). He has done plumbing, electrical, painting, repairs,....you name it. Michael is reasonable, dependable, and honest. He does not overcommit. He does good work. I am happy I found him years ago. The only thing- others have found him, too. He has become in demand. Knowing I may regret this - I still wanted to leave a good review because he deserves it.

I have written a review for Mike before- but it was short, and the projects small. As an out of town landlord, finding someone to do jobs, particularly small ones is a frustrating process. This year, when long term tenants were leaving, I searched out Mike. Years ago, he bailed me out of some tough jams when no one else would, because of the size of the jobs. He has always been honest, fair, and upfront with me. I knew I was going to have quite a few items to be done. I was happy to track down Mike, but disappointed that he was so booked. He is true to his commitments. Based on his commitments, he could only commit to the painting of the entire townhouse. As always, his fee was fair- and knowing I was on a time crunch, he actually showed up a day earlier than what he scheduled, which I appreciated. He watched as Handymen would come and go, all supposedly going to do the other work on the list. Days and weeks were slipping by, and I was having trouble with commitments from other workers. As the time went on, he actually took on some of the other tasks, slowly decreasing the size of the lists- and the size of my concerns. The work he does is quality. His prices are fair. He can be counted on, and completes on time. He takes pride in his work. I am very grateful! I HIGHLY recommend, and will hire him anytime.

Spice It Up Handyman-I Do It All!
Brian showed up right on time and went straight to work. He was very professional and worked fast. Other drywall companies I had quoted wanted anywhere between $400-$600 for this work. I would hire Brian again.

John was a pleasure to work with. He was very responsive and courteous. His price was excellent. He was professional and the work was impeccable. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs this type of work done. He explained everything in detail to us and made sure we were happy with the work. He assured us if there were any issues that he would come back and fix it. We will definitely use him again.

    Handyman Matters South Pittsburgh
I spoke to Allie on the telephone and she asked a lot of questions about the various jobs and then Susie called me back and began quoting the work. I repeatedly asked if it was possible for someone to come to the residence and see the work.  When she was quoting skim coating and painting a powder room and fixing dry wall - she quoted me $1250.00. I inquiring if that was correct the quote was twice what I had been quoted and she indicated that they just did a "dining room" and that's what it cost - I never mentioned a dining room.  I again asked if someone could come out and see the projects and give me a true bid on "my" projects and she again said that don't do business that way. - they know what needs to be done and you hire them and they show up and do the work.   I said thank you but I'm really not comfortable with a contractor just showing up and starting work and she went on to say okay, if I ever need them in the future, don't hesitate to call?  I was honestly disappointed to not be able to receive a bid since there were positive reviews.

We have been really happy with the service we have received from Handyman Matters.  The first time my husband was at home and said that they were punctual and got the work done no problem.  They were straightforward with what the repair required and didnt more than what was necessary.  After painting, you cant even tell that there had been repairs made.  The second time I was the one at home to meet with the repairman.  He was there first thing in the morning,  I showed him where the repairs needed to be made and he went straight to work.  The repairs looked great.
As for the scheduling, it was really painless.  I've talked to a couple of people at the company to get work scheduled and it was easy.  They explained that for small jobs like ours that the handyman would be able to just come out and no quote was needed.  They charged a base fee for the trip, a small hourly, plus materials.  She also said that if we had the materials already that they could use those instead of what they brought with them.  I would definitely recommend this company.

They were fabulous and stellar to work with. They took two days to do the work and they traveled from far away to get to my home.  They actually arrived early for the appointment. There were two technicians here doing the work and the results were excellent. I will use them again since they do a variety of work.

The project far exceeded my expectations. It started on schedule and finished within a week of the estimated date. All of the sub contractors showed up on time and completed their portion of the work. We encountered one problem with the shower stall in the bathroom.? It was too large for the space. But the Project Manager successfully resolved that issue to my satisfaction.? They dry walled the entire area and the ceiling. They used dustless sanders so their was no dust or residue in the rest of the house. The project manager was always available to me to answer questions and kept me appraised of progress and schedule changes. His customer service was excellent.
