    MOYER CONCRETE
Moyer Concrete did an excellent job removing old cracked concrete, and collapsed outside stairway to the basement. They also installed a box drain to handle any runoff to prevent it divert it back out into the yard. I would definitely hire them again and I am in the process of doing so.

JCM & Sons Excavating & Landscaping LLC
Terrible! Sidewalk not slopped away from home, extra cement dumped in backyard without permission, water erosion for incorrect slope, landscape work incomplete, used bird netting rather than erosion blanket causing bank to wash down.

It went well with only a few minor issues. The contractor followed all the new construction codes and every thing he did was inspected by a code officer.

    Baines Concrete Construction, Inc.
Based on my experience with this company; if you are looking for a professional who will either meet or exceed your expectations, I suggest you continue looking. Here are several of the issues I had with this company. When bidding the job, I informed the owner that I wanted the slap even with the ground at its lowest level of evaluation. When excavation began, the owner informed me due to the elevation, it would not be possible. He recommended that I put a retaining wall to address this issue. We agreed this wall would bring the evaluation to approximately six inches (railroad tie) which I agreed. Needless to say, the evaluation remained over 22 inches requiring another contractor to place a second retaining wall and 40 tons of gravel. The retaining wall which was constructed by the owner took two attempts to get correct. Not certain why he used decking screws on his second attempt to correct the retaining wall. Next, drain installation. I would think a drain would be installed so water flows towards the drain. Not the case here, due to the cement slap having high and low spots in the evaluation water puddles in certain areas. Next and most important, the dimensions of the slap were not poured to specifications. When I informed the owner of this issue, he immediately got defensive stating he was going to destroy the work he had just completed because he believed that I was not going to pay for the work, which I never made any such statement. Needless to say, I walked away at that point. After several minutes, the owner knocked on my door and apologized for the way he acted. He suggested that once the building’s plate was installed, he would return and cut the excessive off in a “channel cut” and I would pay him once the job is complete. Later, that day, he contacted me and requested partial payment to pay for the cement, which I agreed. There was still an outstanding balance which he later attempted to obtain additional funds from which I denied. He arrived the day the base plate was installed and we again discussed the cut (channel cut). I believed we had an understanding that a channel cut would be performed; two ninety-degree cuts with no overlap. That was not the case, one ninety-degree cut was done and on the second cut he used a hammer drill so now the cut looks like the waves on the ocean, thus leaving a very unprofessional look to the building. At the end of the job, he asked that I make the check out to him directly; not his company, which I did not. Overall, I found the owner lacks profession understanding of his trade and ethics in the way he conducts business.

    DANCHANKO INC
I emailed Danchanko, Inc. through their website. In less than 24 hours Matt Danchanko arrived to provide estimates for 3 separate phases: the garage, partial driveway, and complete driveway. Matt made several helpful suggestions regarding correcting the issues. That afternoon I received all 3 written estimates. I have yet to receive estimates from a second contractor who I had contacted. I initially hired Danchanko Inc. for the garage floor only. It took only 2 days for removal of the old floor and to complete preparations for the new floor. The ground below the concrete was sunken even more than the concrete, which required additional stone for leveling. All stone was then compacted to prevent settling. Rebar was then inserted into the brick walls of the garage to insure that the new concrete would not settle. The floor was professionally leveled to insure consistent depth of the concrete. The new floor was poured in one day. Eight persons were inside my 25'x25' garage during the pouring. Each knew his job and the jobs of the other personnel. They worked quickly and efficiently and no one got in the way of another. I was so impressed with the quality of the finished product and the professionalism of the personnel that I hired them that day to do the complete driveway. My garage floor is now sloped so that water flows from rear of the garage (entrance to residence) to the front doors where the drains are located. My driveway is now sloped so that water runs into the outside drains and away from the residence rather than toward it. I am as pleased by the preparation work that you can no longer see as I am by the finished product that you can see. Matt and his personnel were honest, friendly, professional and never too busy to take the time to answer my many questions.

They did a great job. Brian is easy to work with. I would hire them again should I need concrete work in the future. By far the most professional contractor I've ever hired.
