  • BUYER BEWARE!! I recently purchased a 2004 Dodge Dakota from Delta Motors in Bloomsburg, PA. The truck was purchased in December. The truck would need inspected within a short amount of time. Upon inspection at a local and trustworthy shop, the following items were found: 1) Seal in the differential was leaking heavily. 2) A bad bearing that needed replaced 3) The front right brake was not functional, due to cable being installed incorrectly. The brake was mechanically locked-up in the open position and would't close. (Obviously a safety violation when selling a car) 4) The emergency brakes were not functional due to the backing plate being in such poor shape. Due to the extreme amount of rust (far more than normal wear and tear), one could argue that it is possible that the truck had been sitting in water for a prolonged period of time. This would also explain some of the other rust issues that have surfaced since the vehicle was purchased. I have kept all the original parts that were defective. This vehicle was sold NOT SAFE. The vehicle was sold not nearly inspect-able. I purchased the truck for around $5500. The bill to fix this truck to be SAFE AND INSPECTED came to $2600. I had to call and visit the dealer 3 or 4 times before I finally got a call back. We requested that the owner take the truck back and give us a refund. To which he exclaimed "Yeah, I can tell you that isn't going to happen." Yet, this conclusion came without him even looking at the truck or the defective parts. That seems strange... His only resolution was to bring it in as a trade in (for which I will get next to nothing)... i think it's safe to say that I won't be returning to delta motors.

  • I've had real good experience with Advanced Auto. They're really reasonable. I'm completely satisfied with them. What stood out the most was their knowledge and their ability to diagnose problems and their confidence. They did the work and it was reasonably priced. It was satisfactory. I have no complaints. I would take my car there for just about anything. They're really good at finding problems and fixing them for a reasonable price.

  • On my model of truck the intake had to be removed to replace the knock sensors (major job). The brake issue was bothersome since the pads and rotor were good. It turned out to be the wheel bearing that was causing the ABS to actuate at low speeds. All work was done satisfactory and at a reasonable cost.

  • I had taken my son's 2005 Buick LeSabre to Independence Ford (Honda, Toyota, GM) because it was and quot;clunkingand quot; when shifting and getting worse. They told me I needed a new tranmission (2300+/- or rebuilt 1800+/-). I made an appoinment at Vic's. He used a computerized tool (my words) to get an idea of the problem, he and I went for a drive. He told me what the problem was, when he could fix it and how much it would cost. He, also, told me there had been a bulletin out on the problem I was having with the transmission.
The actual amount was $50 less. The car was fixed when promised. The transmission is like new.

  • We were looking to purchase a new SUV and was approached by Dwayne. He was very knowledgable and professional, going over every detail and impressing us with features. After we went for a test drive, we ended up talking numbers and it just ended up being above our current budget. Looking back, I wish we could have made it work, but it will give us an opportunity to revisit Alexander Kia and explore the new model year features.

  • Having a father who is a mechanic, I tend to be a bit more critical of the care that my car receives. I ended up being in a bind and needed to have an oil change on my wife's Pontiac Sunfire to which Walmart's auto technicians did extremely well. Whenever I take my car for an oil change, I ensure that the filter isn't double gasketed, that the oil pan plug is tight and that the oil level is right. They made sure to do it properly and my car's interior remained clean as well.

  • I lease the car for my business. The service is ok, only because I have only had oil changes. I bought a cleaning franchise, and when I called the headquarters to get a company vehicle they recommended me to Bonner Chevrolet, which I talked to one of the owners, and my experience with him was great.

  • My husband's car had a damaged fender that would require body work and paint. He was provided with a complete detailed accurate estimate. Work wasn't able to be scheduled immediately, but was done near the holiday season and he was still able to drive the car while awaiting the work, so that wasn't an issue. The employees were all courteous and professional, and the final product looks brand new. We would definitely work with them again should the need ever arise.

  • Jack Williams specializes in tire care and replacement. After the service was completed and prior to leaving the parking lot, I checked the lug nuts and found one lug was finger loose.  I walked in and told the shop tech, Jason who came out and looked at the lug. He left and came back with Tim and a torque wrench. They went around and re-tightened all the lugs which were not tightened to spec. The fact that one lug nut was finger loose and that none of the lug nuts were tightened to spec with a torque wrench tells me that this company cares nothing about customer safety let alone customer service. The shop tech off handedly appologized over his shoulder as he walked away and Tim kept his back to me and said absolutely nothing over the incident.
I was called during the services to tell me that the alignment was out so I asked them to do the alignment. I received no report showing the original alignment numbers and the correction. This report has been a standard part of every wheel alignment I have had done to this car since it was purchased new in 2003.
That night, I checked the tire pressure after the tires had cooled from the drive home. As I thought, all tires were between 38 - 40 lbs pressure which is well above the OEM spec listed on the door of 32lbs front / 34lbs rear.
Overall, this is the absolute worst tire service I have received since I started driving 30 years ago. I am leaving for a trip to Washington D.C. tomorrow. If I had not taken the time to check the lug nuts, which was Jack Williams responsibility to guarantee were replaced correctly, I would have potentially lost a wheel and that is a best case senario. am sorry, but this is totally unacceptable service by any standard, even in the U.S.ck
