Door Installation reviews in Bensalem

    Bucks County Contractors
This is a review at the 15 year mark, which is 5 years past the warranty period. I was prompted to write this due to a recent discovery during a bathroom remodel which exposed the outer walls to the last siding work. See photo. The project originally covered the replacement of most of the windows in the house, the front door, siding, Tyvek wrap, gutters and roof. The work was done in a timely manner and Paul was prompt in getting back to us when we reported issues. Paul honored his warranty when during another remodel 4 to 5 years later when it was discovered that the roof had been leaking into the house over the years, staining an area of carpet that was under furniture. We also had some strange leaking in the back of the house from the beginning, but we never discovered the cause at the time. Paul tried to spray water at the back of the house but didn't discover anything. We then had a dripping leak 4 or 5 years ago into the family room, but we hired a roofer off Angie's list to diagnose and fix that problem, since we were probably out of warranty at that point. The other roofer discovered a problem on the edge of the roof tiles that were cut a little too short, also had a flashing issue and let water run in and behind the siding when rain and wind allowed the water to run in. See gif image of leaking. The recent discovery was an area along the sloped back roof line that meets the back of the one bathroom. The bathroom contractor called me in and showed me something that was unexpected. I've attached a photo between the 2x4s. What is seen is the back of the Oracle insulated siding and some roof flashing on the right side but not continuing down on the left side, and daylight can be seen at the roof line and a little at the siding joint. Not sure what happened. I wouldn't have expected to see the back of the siding if at least the Tyvek material was used as it was in the other areas and if the sheathing was fixed. And I'm not sure what's up with the flashing like that. I don't think it should have just been covered up with siding like that. From what I recall Paul may have had issues with his subcontractors or temp workers at the time since he had to have them redo some areas. It's disappointing to find this due to my concerns back then. The front door has held up well over 15 years. Gutters have also done well. No major problems with the windows, expect for maybe an interior manufacturer staining problem inside the glass. A large portion of the siding has held up through various wind storms. I don't recall any sections popping off. The large portion of the roof, which I believe was a 25 or 30 year GAF Timberline shingle appears to be doing ok. Most leaking issues appear to be related to flashing and edge interface area problems, such as incorrect flashing and broken sheathing again which was related to dining room leak; although we didn't ever have any interior leaking issues during the first 15 years of the original builder's roof and siding.

    M&N Frameless Shower Doors
My experience with this company was great. They answer calls or texts right away. Any questions I have are all answered. The workmanship was impeccable. As well as the quality of the doors. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking for shower doors. They will not be disappointed.

    A B Graham Contracting
Our new bathroom is beyond our wildest dreams done very professionally and at a very fair price. Even during his visit to provide an estimate the owner Andrew, or Drew for short, was very pleasant and took as much time as needed answering our every question and explaining every detail about the process and materials. He was so patient he even took time to answer some detailed questions about future projects we are considering. Unlike the two other contractors we received estimates from A.B. Graham did not limit us to the company's catalog or showroom of choices of the tiles, vanity etc. Instead we able to shop and provide exactly the vanity and tiles and shower heads we wanted. Within days we had a detailed estimate itemizing 31 separate activities each with a price quote and description of each material and process. His quote was very competitive and we were pleased to give him our business. My wife and I made many changes upgrading our original plan and Drew, who did the majority, of the work himself with help from Joe had no problem altering the original plans as we went along. All the fancy upgrades including additional labor increased the final price just a bit but we got everything we wanted additional for less then I thought the extras would cost. I am already planning on working with A,B, Graham again. Fantastic work from a skilled professional at a fair price.

    Bob's Home Services, LLC
Bob and his helper installed a 200 lb barn door that I had custom made for a formal living room entryway. No drill holes came with the rail since it was custom made. Bob carefully measured, drilled and installed all the hardware. He also decided to add a header board to support the weight of the door, which they also painted for me. Install took 6 hours. They swept up my rug when they were done. Nothing was left behind. Went great and my door looks fabulous

    Portal Handyman Services
In response to Joe's response on my review. Yes I hired you again to give you another chance because everyone makes mistakes. How can you say I misused the doors when you never came out to check on them, you were rude, unprofessional and inexperienced. The person that came out to fix the doors properly stated that you did not cut the doors properly and also did not mortar them or sand them. I ordered the wrong size doors? I measured the way you instructed me to measure and orderd them according to the measurements. I think we know who the real liar is here. It's ok I know you're trying to protect your brand but if I may offer you some advise, gain a little more experience first. Yes I filed a dispute on Thumbtack and I wouldn't say I lost because that's really not a win or lose platform. To correct you my availability was after 4:30 not 6 you chose to come at 6 so that you can wait for your helper. Wow! I can say a dodged a very large bullet by not letting you install my window and everything else you gave me an estimate for. I did refer you to a friend and you had to leave for the day to get help because you were once again inexperienced. Thanks for your response though.

    Portal Handyman Services
Joe Korabik of Paradise Property Services also operates or formerly operated Portal Handyman Services which is the business name I hired him under. Everything started off good (pleasant attitude, communication and prices etc) until the work began. I hired Joe to install 5 slab doors. He brought along his helper and it took about 5 hours to install 1-1/2 doors, it took about 3 visits to get these doors installed. After the first visit I noticed on one of the doors the hole for the doorknob was cut wrong but the knob was still installed leaving a big visible gap. Neither Joe nor his helper mentioned this to me so I texted Joe the next morning and he stated that his helper didn't tell him until late, hmm. Fast forward to all doors finally being installed, I had to call him back because one of the doors was not closing properly it was rubbing when closed so he took the door off and cut it but it still rubs (it closes so I left it before it was made worse) and the other door wasn't latching he made some type of temporary adjustment until where now the problem is happening again along with a loose hinge that can't be adjusted because the hole is stripped (which by the way he's claiming it's my fault because I probably rough handled the door and/or slammed it. Another door that was installed is not closing at all and he blames that on the house settling even though the doors were just installed a few months ago. I text joe and ask if he can come and look at the doors he said of course and he would let me know when he can come by; a week goes by and I hear nothing from him so I text him on a Friday then Monday I email him, I send him a message on Thumbtack and no response. Seems as if there's no paid work for him to do he's not interested in your requests. I referred Joe to a coworker and I regret because he is unprofessional and doesn't not stand by his "100% guarantee and his good communication skills" that he claims he has. Lesson learned and for now on I will pay a few more dollars for good work and professionalism! Very disappointed! All of his 5 star reviews are from his friends!!. I've had to since hire someone to repair all doors that he installed.

    Power Home Remodeling
Every time it went off without a hitch. I know that many complain about the presentation being very long. It was long, it was also very detailed and everything was explained. They arrived on time for each job, did the job, cleaned up and then there was a follow up inspector to make sure it was done correctly. This was followed by phone calls at one month, 3 months, 6 months and one year to make sure everything was still to our satisfaction. There was one minor issue at the one year mark which was fixed within 24 hours of the notification. They will get the siding job when I'm ready.

These guys are great! So here you go: 1: Called or texted before each visit. 2: Kept the impact on our lives at a minimum by discussing the project thoroughly before starting. 3: Stayed true to the schedule. 4: All employees were very polite and cleaned up after themselves each day by vacuuming and wiping down surfaces. 5: Minor changes were required due to unknown factors and they were very fair and accommodating. These were primarily code issues that needed to be addressed for our safety. 6: Certain suggestions were made to increase pressure in the shower prior to construction after I mentioned we were unhappy with the pressure. That was addressed nicely which brings me to my next point.... They listen to what you want and do their best to make that happen. 7: Not for one minute did I feel like I was being led into anything other than what we requested and what was required to do it right. 8: Schedule was kept, work was done beautifully, we paid remaining balance and they were done. 9: However, we did receive additional calls to make sure everything was operating correctly...Nice! 10: Professional, Clean, Supportive and just really nice guys (everyone of them). On another note: My wife and I were considering just changing the shower by adding that latex stuff as an enclosure. We were quoted by two companies between $6,000 & $11,000 for just that. The company that quoted $11,000 tried to hard sell us and came down almost $3,000 in a 1/2 hour discussion with the old buy now and save routine. For this job, ATV said, we'll handle the labor and construction materials (behind the scenes stuff) for around $XXX and you buy the tile, shower door, vanity or whatever else and we will install for the whole bathroom! That gave us the option of keeping our old vanity, putting up a shower curtain rod if we wanted...whatever. It turns out we bought all new stuff but THAT WAS OUR DECISION and had no impact on their cost whatsoever. The bathroom is my design and their build but they can do both if you want. So.... if you don't like something in the not their fault. All said and done.. Around 10K in labor and 3.5K in materials. Weigh that against the $11,000 miracle latex shower enclosure and remember that you will be looking at a total bathroom remodel. To be fair, the guy at 6K was probably a fair price but why go with plastics when you can do real stone and ceramics...check out the shower! I need to put a bluetooth speaker in their for my half hour showers I've been taking (overhead rain, jets, wand).

    Geno's Siding & Roofing LLC
Everything went very well on the project. Adjustments were made to the project while it was going on and it all still went smoothly. We are very happy with the end result. Our home looks like new again and it has a much more modern style to it. The original siding was aluminum that was about 40 years old. We now have the Certainteed Perfection Shingles in charcoal along with GAF Charcoal roof - which looks about 10 times better than the old exterior. We also had a new wider door installed. While you can't tell from the picture, the aluminum trim around the windows is custom bent so it isn't your typical flat & squared look. We are very pleased with how this was done - especially for our bow window. One thing that really helped give the house a modern look was extending the roof on the sides by about 5 inches. This gave us an overhang in areas that were originally just flat. This made a big difference in the overall look of the exterior - for the better. There were also 5 new motion sensor lights installed around the house to help with the security. There were 3 crews that did the work. One crew took care of the roof of the house and shed, while another crew took care of the siding, doors, trim, and lighting. There was another crew that came and installed the gutters in less than 2 hours. Overall, we are happy with the punctuality and sincerity of the workers. Not all of them spoke English, but that didn't matter. They were all polite and did good work. We'd like to give a special thank you to Russel & Arthur for the work they did on the siding and trim work - it is exceptional and we're glad they took the time to make the house look great in the end. The price for the whole project was on the lower end of the estimates we received. We got estimates from 8 different contractors. The deciding factor was Geno's willingness to get the job done right in addition to all the positive reviews on this site - which are will deserved. We recommend Geno's siding to anyone looking to get any exterior work done on their house. I've attached a couple of before and after pictures so you can see for yourself the work that was done.

We had already moved out of the house and even to a different state by the time Chris started the work so we were not able to supervise it... Chris sent us very clear before and after pictures of each piece of work as it progressed.  I felt completely secure in allowing  him to use the realtor box to access the key for the house and knew the work would be done as requested and in a timely fashion...  My only regret is that we have moved from PA to DE just as I found the perfect handyman.
