From design to execution, Jim and Marty did an excellent job with our kitchen renovation. Job included removal of wall and reconfiguration of a powder room and complete kitchen overhaul. Highly recommended and professional. As we met with subcontractors, Jim and Marty were described a super team - based on the final product, this is accurate. They did a wonderful job with our kitchen and powder room remodel.

Far and away the best contractors weve ever worked with and weve worked with many. Everything went very well, from the start of the design process to the last of the finishing touches. The crew, in this case Dan and Jesus, were highly experienced professionals, friendly and easy-going, and as non-disruptive to our home life as anyone could imagine. This renovation was for a bathroom in our hundred year old house and began with a complete demolition back to the studs and joists and old plumbing. This alone was quite a feat. It took 5 days and removed 3 tons of debris from our old bathroom. Each day the debris was hauled out the the surrounding area was cleaned up, down to dusting the floors The quality of the workmanship was excellent and exceeded our expectations. No details or finish elements were ignored. As with any renovation, a couple of issues came up which were promptly resolved to our satisfaction with little or no debate. Overall communication and follow through from K&B was outstanding.. We used their recommended vendors (plumbing, tile, countertop and glass doors) and found them to be to be extremely helpful and professional. The project did go slightly over budget, largely due to changes/additions that we requested. We couldnt be more pleased with the final product, or with the process of getting there. We love our new bathroom, as do the friends who have seen it. We would happily work with K&B again.

First, Nicholson remodeled our kitchen. They are very professional and a pleasure with whom to discuss, plan, and work. Their craftsmanship is excellent! They work very efficiently and complete the work in a timely way. They clean up thoroughly each day. Nicholson did a such wonderful work, that we had them remodel our bathroom, as well. In addition, when our next door neighbor saw our remodeling, they hired Nicholson to remodel their kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Needless to say I highly recommend them.

Took 2 days. Initially I was going to have the stairs going in an opposite direction but Ian pointed out a major fall risk and went the other way...which looks a lot other contractor had appointed that out during the consultation. Service was and exceeded my overall I think the price was very fair the quality workmanship...would definitely hire again. Ian is very laid back and wants to keep his customers happy!

We had a few surprises and delays due to unavoidable condo rules, building permits and original construction requirements, which cut a week off construction timetable. But problems we thought were insurmountable, Ken easily solved. He has so much construction knowledge and good common sense. In the end, we had to move in 3 days before remodeling was complete, but that was a minor inconvenience. Ken stuck to the original budget (almost unheard of!) and worked until we were completely satisfied. Our new apartment is a showcase.

I thought the easiest solution was to remove the soffit and rehang the cabinet flush with ceiling, since our soffits screw onto the wall. Dan, ever thoughtful and deliberate (though down to earth and funny), discussed what I had planned (hanging a cabinet high, without soffit) and pointed out as kindly as possible that at 4'11", I would never be able to reach anything in that cabinet ever again! He thus removed and then recrafted the soffit so that the cabinet fit over the refrigerator but still hung low enough that I could climb up on a chair and reach things. He also brought my dog treats, which was just awesome!

The enclosed porch was the worst it needed structural work. All the carpentry work that was done was professional and the guys were great. The living room and dining rooms were skimmed(I wanted the walls scrapped to plaster, but they didn't seem to want to do that so I relented) There were two painters - one did the walls, he was OK but started painting over the white woodwork. That was fixed but the color was still coming through. I got my paintbrush out and fixed it, The other painter was not a painter. He was doing my 200 year old woodwork. There was no prep done, no sanding or scraping. They had to fix a lot of peeling spots and the biggest spot happened 3 months after they left. The entire rail of a sash peeled. They did not want to come back and fix it. I fixed it. I should not have had to do that. I hired what I thought were professionals to do this job. the way the wood work was painted I could have done better myself, but I hired "professionals" for this job. and did not get a professional job on my woodwork.

It went extraordinarily well.  As a result of Andrew's professionalism and that of his employees, I am hiring him to remodel my kitchen.
He makes himself available by both email and cell phone and shows up when he says he will.  His employees were very careful with regard to my furniture, etc., and took a great deal of pride in the work that they did.

With regard to the question below, I have already shared my experience with some of my neighbors.

Even though my roof ended up costing almost twice what the original estimate was, I know Castelli gave me a fair deal and did quality work. The thing about my roof was, all the plywood had rotted out, to the point where even a couple of beams needed to be replaced. I had no idea the roof was in such bad shape (I just bought the house and the inspector said the roof needed replacement, but he did not indicate the truly emergent situation), and the roofers didn't either. I guess it's one of those things you can't know until you "open the hood." Once they did, it was apparent that there were more than just a few mushy spots. I saw the rotten plywood in the dumpster, it was legit rotten and there was a lot of it. Marcy called me to let me know about the extent of the damage when the workers discovered it, and while I wasn't overjoyed to spend so much more than I had budgeted, crap happens and I'm glad Castelli took care of it for me before there was water pouring into my living room or worse.
Marcy, Alex, Mike and the rest of the crew were very easy to work with. They were responsive, courteous, punctual, and hardworking. They did a ton of work in a short period of time (even working on a holiday), and were always polite. I'm a little overprotective of my young child and mother-in-law, but I felt comfortable leaving them in the home during the day while the men worked on the roof. And Marcy kept me well-informed from the first contact all the way through to the end of the job. Actually even past the end. Some strong winds pulled my chimney cap loose a couple days after the roof was completed. I assumed this was something related to the work they did up there, so I called and Marcy sent someone to check it out that same day. He said the cap was kaput but affixed it to the chimney as a courtesy. Castelli didn't have to do that, but they did, without hesitation. That says something about their integrity, and their superior customer service. I'd recommend them to a friend, definitely.

Great service and value. Easy to communicate with and completed the work efficiently. Work done: repaired banister, stabilized a platform bed by fixing the bed raiser to the bed, boarded up a basement window, unlocked a jammed cabinet, hung a picture and a mirror, tightened a toilet seat, removed two wall sconces.
