    I had a door opener that had power going to it, but would not work. I called and they came out the next day. They took the time to 're-install' the track location and realigned the chain drive so it was no longer binding. They did not stop there....they adjusted and tweaked everything so it would work smoothly. I had a second door that I do not use that often, they noticed that the track and head were not lined up properly, they took the time to put a bracket on it so it was better aligned. My car has a Homelink type opener located in the visor, they tried to calibrate/match it with the opener they fixed and could not get it to accept the codes....they made a point of coming back the next day to program it and make sure everything was working. They were polite, took the time to explain what they were doing and answered any questions I had. I would definitely use them again. Oh, I forgot to mention the price the charged for all the work they did was more than reasonable (it was so low I asked if they had made a mistake)!!!

    We have used JD Construction's services for many years. We continue to hire Joe Dively for a variety of reasons. He does quality work with attention to detail. He is accessible and always returns phone calls and emails in a timely fashion. He listens to your questions and concerns and tries to come up with solutions. He submits invoices promptly and issues receipts as so as you pay. His company really cares about your needs and they are pleasant to work with.

    Joe was great. Installed door in a day. Did all the trim staining of trim & insulated around door. He also cleaned up everything & disposed of old door & wood. The price was great. He is very clean & tidy.

    Very well done. Explanation of services, price estimate, craftsmanship and cleanup were all professionally done. Price was a little high, but well worth it. I'm willing to pay more for better quality and that is what BH provided.

    Mark from Window Perfections came out to give an estimate on 3/6/14.  He talked about his company Windows Perfection, their services and was very knowledgable about his product and services.  I cannot say enough about his ethics, professional and his knowledge in the window industry.   He pointed out some finishing details on some other windows we had replaced before and how his company would complete the work they performed.  He showed us some pictures to demonstrate the differences and also had sample windows of his product.  All I can say is when you see his company's craftsmanship versus other window company's, their is quite a difference.   He also had a very nice slideshow highlighting work that he has performed in the past.  Another thing that stuck out to me regarding Mark is that he did not use any high pressure sales tactics that seems to be common within the window industry.  
    After giving Mark the green light for the window and door replacement he sent out his crew leader on 3/18/14 to do some final measuring.  Again the professionalism and courtesy they showed while in our home was top notch.  He also talked about how they will finish the windows and again the attention to detail they portrayed was very impressive.
    I received a call from Window Perfections to schedule the installation date on 4/14/14 and the time that they expected the crew to show up.  The 2 gentleman Brian and Randy again were very professional, and very respectful of our house.  They tarped the floors, to eliminate messes and vacuumed up the inside as they went along.   We did not have to clean up after them at all.  Due to a rain day the crew communicated to me that they would not be in the next day to finish the job but would be out early the following day.   At the end of the job they made sure we knew how to operate the windows.   They also installed some additional trim to make sure the windows and door looked just as sharp inside the house as they did outside
    They cleaned all the windows before they left to make sure their were no blemishes on our new windows.  They found two blemishes and ordered two new sashes for us.  The crew also answered some questions about the windows we had installed the previous year that seemed to have some problems this past year.  He made some recommendations and took the extra time to even correct a couple of problems on the other companies windows.   
    Finally Mark the owner of WIndow Perfections followed up on Friday 4/18/14 to make sure we were completely satisfied with the job.  He asked if we had any additional concerns or problems that were not addressed.  Again he mentioned the two replacement sashes were ordered and would be here in a couple of weeks and someone would be around to replace them.  You definitely get what you pay for with Window Perfections, which is a high end windows with quality service, installation and a company that has strong ethics and good morals that lack in some of the other businesses within the industry.

    Overall I rate them very poorly.
    They were not honest with us from the beginning. The folders they give you with their thier work standards...say very clearly thet Solarshield never uses subcontracters. The workcrew that eventually showed up to perform the work told us from the first day they were subcontractors. The owner of the subcontracting business even gave me his card (which I still have) and told me that Solarshield was overcharging us for the job and that the next time we needed any work done, we should call him.
    We first contacted Solarshield in early June of 2013. We met with the salesmen and came to an agreement for the work to be done. They told us they would be able to start in 4-5 weeks. At that time we put 1/3 of the full price down in cash. We had dealt with this salesman previously when he owned another local construction company...and he had treated us very we were not hesitant to enter into a contract with him. He had sold his business to Solarshield and he assured us that they did excellent work and that we would be very pleased with any work they did for us.
     When the second week of July came and went with no sign of the work being started we stopped by their office and inquired. The salesman who we met with in our home told us the next day that they had simply forgotten about us and he was very sorry and that the work would be statrted shortly.
    They came to start the work around August 1, 2013. They began in the garage and at first they seemed to be pretty good. However...we began to notice problems when they were finishing up the drywall in the garage. The seams were showing through
    the mud they had put on to seal them. It didn't appear that they had used any tape to cover the seams up when applied the mud mixture. When we questioned them...they assured us that they had used was just that the quality of the drywall was not good and it was moving due to the settling of the house. They said they would remud the seams and we wouldn't even be able to see them when they were done.
    They remudded them and never bothered to sand them down to get ready to paint. The contract we signed with them was clear to say that the walls were to be completely sanded and ready to paint. (We were going to do the painting ourselves.) As it turned out my wife and I had to apply more mud mixture and sand the seams ourselves before we could paint.

    The most frustrating part was that they never cleaned the was a mess! Dust was everywhere! In our minds...ready to paint means that the walls and floor would be wiped off and ready to have paint applied to them. They didn't see it the same way.
    From the garage they went onto our bathrooms. They removed our old counter tops and when they installed the new granite ones they damaged the walls. The damage was not huge...but they never made any effort to fix it. This happened in both bathrooms. They installed the new sinks and proceeded to put the old faucets back on! When we asked where the new faucets were for the sinks. they responded that they had no idea what we were talking about. We said that they were included in the turns out that neither the men doing the work or the project manager had even read the contract. They didn't know about the new faucets or the new toilet in the master bath.either. They also used the old plumbing to install the new sinks...and when they were done in the Master of the sinks had a major leak and the other had the knobs installed backwards. It was unbelievable how sloppy their work was!
    The worst part of the job was the terrible workmenship when they installed the new front screen door. They were supposed to replace part of the door frame as it was damaged. But when they installed the door the first time (it took them four times to get it almost right) they left the old rotted wood n place. The last time they took the door off to fix the frame they had to redrill the door because they had changed the way it sat in the frame. Instead of showing us what they had done...they covered up the extra hole with the closing wife noticed the hole when she cleaned the door a few days later. By this time the workers were long gone and Solarshield never came back to fix the problems and despite many phone calls to them...they have not been back. They were supposed to come and give us all the warrenty information...but they never came. 
    The biggest mistake we made was in trusting the original saleman we had dealt with in June. We had twice before in our lives worked with him and his company and he was genuinely interested in getting the job done right..We called him and he did come and looked at the shoddy workmanship. He aploigized to us and said he would make sure that everything was made right. As I said earlier, when he owned his own business he had done some major remodeling for us and the workmanship and proffessional ethics of his company were excellent. He even gave us his on personal cell phone number and promised that he would see to it that our issues were taken care. We mad the mistake of giving him the final payment for the job...and you guessed
    it...we never heard from him or Solarshield again.
    While the work that Solarsheld did for us was not terrible...for the amount of money we paid was not done with the attention to detail and finish that we expected. Based upon y experience with them...I do not recomend them.

    Outstanding work, very prompt, excellent customer service. We would without question call on AJ Mercer and team next time we need projects completed. We have used AJ Mercer on multiple jobs over the past 10 years and haven't had any problems. Everything Jim said he would do was done with professionalism. He and his crew have always been prompt and picked up after themselves.

    Well, they only worked from 10 to 4. I bought the doors, wallpaper, tiles, and paneling prior. Doors cut wrong. Wallpaper falling down. Door handles don't lock. The doors of some of the rooms still need a second coat of paint. I still see the old paint. Countertops are not sealed in, and the trim going around was not trimmed or cut. It catches on everything. Before he started, I took all of the wallpaper off to make it easier for him. He said caulking was extra so stains wouldn't appear, but they do. Had to call him to finish it. He never came back. He was to paint outside of the house. He was evasive about the color work that still needs to be done inside. He was the worst; he barely worked. It started in February and stopped in August. No invoice even though I kept asking for one. Got it in December. He states I owe him $1500.00 more.

    This actually occurred several years ago:
    My husband and I had wanted a replacement for the front door of our  home.   We had seen the exact color and design of the door presented by this company at a local home and garden show.  Unfortunately the sales persons, which were two men, refused to do busineess unless we were both present.  I had explained  that my husband's working hours as a physician made that almost impossible.  They actually told me that they would not deal with a woman by herself!  What an insult!  So, guess who did not make a sale.......  We went to Lowes and got a better door at a better price. 
    I sincerely hope that over the years they have changed their policies. We have  made certain that our friends and families have known about their actions and unrealistic treatment of thier customers. They missed out on a lot of remodeling jobs because of their comments to me.

    They did a nice job. I was happy with the installation and with the doors themselves. They have a lifetime warranty on the patio door and I am very pleased with their work. I would definitely use them again.
