    They called me right away to Set up an appointment. I actually never saw anyone, they just came early in the morning, did the work and left a receipt on my doorknob. But I could see all the plugs on my lawn. It was a good price. The lawn service I used this year wanted way more.

    We have used Grasshopper Lawns since we bought this house 11 years ago. The previous owner had already prepaid the yearly service and we were so pleased with their service that we have kept them all these years.
    Our lawn is one of the prettiest on the street, the neighbor doesn't use any regular fertilizer/weeking program, and you can clearly see the difference along the grass line.

    This is a private family business and we are happy to use their services and support them!

    I called three times two years ago and had to leave a message on their
    voice mail.  They did not call back until the the following year.  When
    he did call back I told them that I went with his competitor, I also
    explained that if he has a business to run  then he should have someone
    to answer the phone line or get cellphone so that he would not miss a
    new prospective customer.

    We agreed that they would apply a vegetation killer to kill a very aggressive weed in our lawn.  The vegetation killer was applied in September.  They said they would return the first week of October to aerate and seed the lawn.  They didn't show up or phone us, so I called and was told they'd be here on October 11.  It rained on October 11, but not all day.  I called them and was told they'd still be here that day, but they neither called to cancel nor showed up.  I called again on October 14 and they told us we're now scheduled for October 21.  We told them that was too late for this type of work, but they said it shouldn't be a problem.  On October 21, Tru Green didn't show up or call.  We called them at 4:20 PM and told them not to bother coming.  We cancelled our business with them and asked for a refund.  (We had pre-paid for this service.)  They said we'd get a refund in 5 - 7 business days and they did issue a credit to us.  We should have cancelled the first time they failed to show up or call.  Now it's too late to reseed the lawn so we have a brown back yard until next spring.

    I explained to Chris what I wanted done, but didn't  have a picture in my head of how I wanted things to look.  I  had explained I already had one estimate and was waiting for another gentlemen to come the following week.  As we talked he went right to work sketching the area and made note of everything I said.   He explained why expanding the patio up against the house would look too hard and suggested some river rock and a few plants to give the front a softer look.  As he sketched he explained in detail what would be done and what materials would be used, while I looked through his portfolio of work and letters of jobs well done from prior customers .  To my surprise, two hours later, he had a finished sketch and wonderful ideas to beautify my dug up front yard.  The time just flew was like talking to an old friend.   Chris spent way, way more time with me then the first guy and was doing 3 times more work and was charging $2000 less.  There was such good karma and vibes during our entire visit and I could tell how much he enjoyed and took pride in  his work.  I asked him to draw up a contract to sign and the following day I called and canceled the appointment for the third estimate.
    When the work was to be started Chris and his crew of charming gents were on time and started right away.  Everything was prepped in the afternoon of the arrival to be completed the next day.  Throughout both days I would check on the progress and chat with them.  They worked non-stop and were very entertaining to watch.  They certainly work well together and as a team.  When the job was done, Chris and I walked around the house.  There were a few extras surprises that Chris and the gents did, to my delight, that weren't discussed or  included in his sketch, which again proved to me how much pride was put into this job.  Everything was cleaned up and no trash of any kind was left behind.
    The reason for this survey is to find out if I would recommend Scenic bet'cha.   I was pleased with all aspects of the company and the beautiful, great  work that was done.   My hat's off to the gents for a simply maaahvelous job.  You made me a happy camper.  Peace guys!!!!

    I have lived at this address for the past 7 plus years, and hired TruGreen about 6 years ago (the first spring after I'd moved in, and found my lawn covered in dandelions).  Their service performance has been adequate (my front lawn, at least, has been thick, green, and weed free) but their customer service has declined year after year.
    When I started up with TruGreen, I would receive a postcard with planned dates of service.  This was helpful in planning when to get the grass cut.  Sometime later, the postcards stopped on their own, and I had to call to receive them.  After that, TruGreen stopped sending the postcards all together, and they opted instead for a phone call "heads up" of upcoming service.  This also went away.
    Treatments are supposed to be every 4 to 6 weeks.  TruGreen began the practice of squeezing their treatments closer and closer together.  At one point, I was certain they would be Winterizing my lawn in July.
    Apart from all this was the never ending assault by them to push additional services.  I didn't mind when they would leave an evaluation with samples of my "alleged" unhealthful trees and shrubs; I did mind phone calls and messages mutliple times a week.
    This past Spring, however, when they put the first two treatments down only one week apart, and while there was still snow on the ground, I'd had enough.  I cancelled their services and have now hired a private lawn caretaker at half the price.

    That went very well. They are coming back to do more work like edging and mulching the flowerbeds. The experience was very good. They are excellent. They came out promptly, did a nice evaluation, had the contract ready to go and it has been very good.
