    Through his excellent commuication skills, Dr. Nicholas Unis assures and reassures that you have a complete understanding of any procedure you are about to undergo. You are comfortable each step of the way. Our family appreciates having this type of care. If you don't understand something, he takes the time to explain it and will not proceed until you are comfortable. You rarely find this kind of compassion.

    It had been a while since I saw a dentist (moved to the area and just didn't get around to it), then on vacation I broke a tooth.  I was able to get into see him relatively fast as a new patient.  Had a cleaning and he filled to old fillings needed replaced on that day and scheduled an appointment for the crown on the broken tooth.  Temporary crown and prep for crown has been completed.  So far, I am very pleased with his entire practice.  He's personable, and explains the process (first time for me to have a crown).  He is gentle and compassionate.  I have always said I am h****** finding a dentist I really like and trust as an adult, not due to any negative experience, it is that my dentist growing up was my best friend's father, and he was an amazing dentist, so my expectations have been set high for the dentist.  I must say that Dr. Skoff reminds me much of my childhood dentist, not just in his practice, but even in his interactions with me as a patient.  I highly recommend Dr. Skoff.

    I went to the Monaca, Pa location. The dentist was a little ruff. His bed side manner was pretty tough. He did numb me up pretty well. I dont know If I want to go back to that dentist though. Other than that the staff is very friendly, the waiting room is very neat, and comfortable.

    I'm never disappointed when visiting Dr. Jovanelly's office. In fact, I always feel better after leaving there which, isn't that really the point? His staff doesn't treat me like a patient but like part of the family. The staff is incredibly accommodating with appointments, the hygienists do an amazing job at cleaning and Dr. Jovanelly is thorough and informative. I have been coming to Dr. Jovanelly's office for many years and they have always kept me problem and cavity-free. I will continue to go there for many years to come.

    Their staff is very friendly, and they call you to remind your appointment.  They take care of any extra things.  They consult your insurance company if you need anything additional, and they get the price for you before your next appointment so that you are aware of it.  They are very friendly.  You can get in there and get out without having a long wait.

    I had not been to a dentist in years and was having some issues with my teeth. I called and made an appointment figuring it would be several weeks. I was pleased that they were able to see my within a week. Once I got there I was treated very nicely, taken to an xray room where I got pictures taken. I was seen by a dentist quickley and he explained what issues I had and several choices I had. In the past, dentists would talk down to me because of lack of dental care. These guys did not talk down to me like other dentists had. I chose to get an upper denture so they explained the costs involved, payments, etc. When the day came for the extractions, I was seen by Dr. Woods who really made me feel more at ease. They removed the teeth and fitted me with a temporary denture. The follow up has been very good and they have set appointments to fit my scheduled since I travel. I will be getting permanent dentures in a couple of months and will update then.

    A little more than 4 years ago, I saw Dr. Ungarean at his recently purchased practice on Baptist Road in Whitehall near the Caste Village shops. He seemed very personable, so I decided to stay with him a while and see how it went.

    In late summer of 2008 I was having pain in the upper left molar. Dr. Ungarean advised that I'd need a root canal. I asked his receptionist (who also does the billing) how much this would cost. She seems professional and competent, but severely lacking in the cheerful friendly personality my old dentist's receptionist had . I was told it would be approximately $1,000.00.

    I hesitated, as Dr. Ungarean did not accept any dental insurance at this office for some unknown reason. This office is already 15 miles from my home. I made the drive because my old dentist was a 100% pain free dentist for more than 20 years, so it was worthwhile.I could not consider going more than 30 miles one way to see Dr. Ungarean in Beaver County, but if he was as good as my old dentist, I'd make the trip.

    After some debate, savings and more pain, I agreed to the root canal. I went to Dr. Ungarean's office and he took some molds of my teeth and did a lot of drilling. He was able to anesthetise my mouth instantly, so I never felt any pain. He put in a temporary crown, and advised he was all done for now. I asked what he meant. He said he does not do root canals but could refer me to another dentist who does a good job. This was a surprise, as my old dentist was a full service dentist and never had to refer work out.

    I went to see the specialist Dr. Ungarean recommended. This Dr. Czontkowski wanted $1000 in cash up front. His office would not accept a credit card or a personal check, nor did they take my insurance either. They also refused to accept terms of any kind, such as 50% before and the rest next month. NO - CASH ONLY was the firm response. I was already committed, as my tooth had already been prepared and could not stay like it was long term. I paid the money I was expecting to go to Dr. Ungarean, but thought that since this Dr. Czontkowski was doing the bulk of the work, perhaps he paid Dr. Ungarean for me from this $1000.00. No such luck. Dr. Czontkowski did a great job, also adept at keeping me pain free throughout the entire process.

    I returned to Dr. Ungarean, and he said he needed to fill the tooth now that the root and nerve had been drilled. Finally, he placed the temporary crown Dr. Czontkowski had put in. Dr. Ungarean stated that the final crown had to be readjusted from the molds so it would fit in accordance with what Dr. Czontkowski had done. It sounded reasonable, but I'd thought that I was supposed to have the entire process finished at that appointment, and here I was, needing yet another one.

    I went to the receptionist to schedule the final appointment. She gave me a bill for $1,550.00! This itemized $1000 for the root canal and $550 for "additional procedures". She could not explain what the additional procedures were. I told her that I'd already paid the $1000 to Dr. Czontkowski, and was told that those were his charges. I complained, because she had told me it would cost $1000, but here I am with billing that totals $2,550!

    Dr. Ungarean was not available to discuss why I was being charged 150% over the quoted price. Later, I called the office several times and asked to have Dr. Ungarean return my call to discuss this. I never got a return call. Finally, I started to receive collections notices, which I protested, as the work still has not been completed.

    Shortly thereafter I became extremly ill, and spent the following 9 months in the ICU, hospitals, and a nursing home. During this time, I lost the use of my legs and have been confined to a wheelchair. I returned home to a mountain of mail. In the mail were a number of collections notices from before I got sick. The collections notices from Dr. Ungarean finally stopped, and my credit rating has been damaged severely. As of today, I still have the temporary crown.

    Even now, three years later, I do not feel that a bill should have been sent at all. The work still has not been completed. I will not schedule with Dr. Ungarean until the billing issue is adjusted to a reasonable level more in line with what I was quoted. While I have never received a return call from Dr. Ungarean, the receptionist did mail my my dental records after I called to request them.

    I would not return to Dr. Timothy Ungarean based on his billing practices.. While he seemed to be a very skilled dentist and very nice person, he does not communicate well the scope and limitations of his practice. I was not told that I would need the services of another provider, at additional costs. I was quoted $1000 but charged $2550. There has been no explanation or adjustment for being more than 150% over the quote, and apparently they have dropped me as a patient, even if they don't know how gravely ill I became when this case was almost resolved.

     I found the cleaning to be very good.  The dentist was very professional and thorough.  He took his time, went through the x-rays with me and advised me of my treatment options when needed.  The office staff was friendly and professional.  My wife had a similar experience and inpression of the practice.

    Much better than I thought! Very little pain even though the tooth was severely infected and nerves were very inflamed. Dr. Barbuto extracted the tooth quite easily, and I was so relieved! Everyone in the office is very nice, especially his assistants. They make you feel very at ease. I highly recommend Dr. Barbuto. He's nowhere near retirement age, but if he ever retires, he will have to pull all my teeth first, so I can get dentures and never have to go to a different dentist! :-)
