  • Splendidly! They cleaned the fan and replaced the battery on my MacBook while I was learning everything I needed to know about the iMac. I walked out with a fresh clean laptop and an iMac on the way. And it took less than an hour! They are so much more technically savvy than the Apple stores and so much easier to work with. I knew based on my previous experiences with them that when I needed to purchase a new Mac that I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

  • Marvin was very professional. He spent over 2 hours on his time to explain what he was doing and the reasons for. He even called Comcast when there was a problem getting internet service. I highly recommend his services. Bill Quinn

  • They kept me informed of the laptop's progress and even helped with an issue on another laptop I was having when I went to pick the computer up. Price of repair was less than initially quoted.

I've worked with James and Marcus over the years. Efficient and cost-effective.

  • Marvin was very professional.  Arrived about 45 minutes early and called from the driveway to see if he was too early.  He spent two hours, mostly with my primary laptop and was patient in explaining everything he was doing and why.  Gave me lots of tips to avoid problems in the future.  Installed virus protection software for free.  He also checked my old laptop and removed spyware from it as well.  The problem I had called about - Outlook not receiving mail - he fixed right away.  Both machines are now working smoothly and are much better protected from invaders from Cyberspace.  Would not hesitate to call him again rather than spend many hours trying to figure it out myself.

  • Overall I was very pleased with the work they did.  They returned my computer very quickly and the charges were will within what they estimated.  I was very happy with their service.
I found that my printer was not connected when I went on the next morning.  I called, they found that they would need to make a house call to complete the connection.  They gave me a time of 10:30--they were here at exactly 10:30 and were done within 5 minutes, no charge.

  • Patty was very professional and provided sound advice as well as fixing the problem of many popups which
slowed down the machine. She ended up removing many prograns and add ons that slowed down the computer.

  • They have done 6 complete different system upgrades for us over the years. Three desktops and three laptops. They are wonderful. All of the PC's work great after he works on them. If you run into any issues, he will access your computer online if you give him permission, and fix the issue. They are very fair financially. They are usually out to our home within three days. We have alot of trust in them, and they do no work on Apples. I have used them for about 15 years.

  • Fry's in Wilsonville is like most of their larger stores - pretty overwhelming selection of computers, software, appliances and electronic gadgets/equipment.
If you're looking for low-end but serviceable laptop, desktop or appliance, this is the best destination I've found in the state. Their strength of vast selection can work against the consumer, though; the store is so large it is only reasonably easy to navigate, and, although the staff's attitude is helpful, there are not enough of them to help on crowded weekends (think and quot;nearly-Costco crowdsand quot;) and their opinions on equipment vary a lot by individual, often disagreeing with Consumer Reports or CNET reviews. Best method I've found to use the store: Do your homework upfront regarding brand names and specifications, then go to Fry's to get the best price. If you're rushed, talk to more than one salesperson (the individual salespeople often don't like this) and consider several opinions.
Their repair shop is knowledgable, thoughtful, but opinionated. Without asking, they will upload the free versions of anti-virus software and anti-malware products. If you can't specify technically what you want, to be fair, they are left to their own guesses when repairing your pc or laptop, and actually, everything they've done (including the uploads) were what I would have done if I had read more on the subject.
When in doubt, especially if they have an on-sale but little-known brand, I recommend (only in this one instance) you buy their warranty - but remember you have to deliver your purchase to the shop. One other recommendation - follow their sales ads and wait for your product to come up, then go early on the Friday or Saturday when they start the sale - they run out of sale items!
Overall, Fry's beats Costco by a lot on selection, Wal-Mart and big box stores on both price (not so much but noticeable) and selection (very noticeable), and loses to all of them on store organization. Overall their salespeople are very helpful but once in awhile you can hear someone talking over their head. If I am in the Portland area usually I can my considerable computer needs filled for the best price there, and sometimes break my rule and don't check the competitors - so far I haven't been stung!

  • I've used The Service Department so many times and for so many years that I've lost track. They've been in business for three or four years and are increasingly busy, have added employees, so I'm thinking they have other happy customers, too. I never hesitate to refer people to them for computer and related questions and services. Am invariably thanked by my referred friends because of The Service Dept.'s. excellent attitude, helpfulness and overall good work.
Which is not to say, of course, that there are not bumps, because computer service and maintenance is a terrifically complicated thing. But they've unfailingly taken me through to the end with courtesy and helpfulness, despite me being so obtuse about what I'm describing or asking or what they're saying/suggesting or doing.
They've done a number of things for me, including but not exclusively, removing and resetting things for me after malware or virus infections. After which I've installed the AV and malware programs they've suggested. A couple of times I got myself in trouble by changing settings or trying things that got me all balled up and they've brought me out of it. Once I complained that since my system was several years old, I should get a new one, shouldn't I, instead of trying to fix the current mess I've made? Well, no, says Marcus, you know what you've got here is really quite alright.
But then one time I wanted to go from XP to Win7 and he took care of that. He's helped me add memory and all that. But of course I was really looking for an excuse to buy a new computer :-). Which I've gone ahead and done a couple of times. And in mentioning that I'll also add here that Marcus has been good and even-handed about brands. Not that he recommends something specific, but as I mention a brand name or two or three, he's good about saying which he's had in most for repairs, or issues with this or that, or that this or that brand/model seems good to him.
Oh, and I've added memory chips and things a couple of times, and since The Service Dept is just blocks from Fry's, if he doesn't have what he needs, I just run over to Fry's, buy what Marcus says is required, bring it back and he puts it right in. Now, how is that for service?
They can help in person, over the phone or by remote and quot;team viewer.and quot; The cost is **super reasonable. Check the schedule on their website. But the service isn't and quot;cheapand quot; in terms of quality. They can also come to where your computer is, but I've not used them for that. I've just taken my tower/laptop/questions/issues into the shop if Marcus isn't able to help by phone or team viewer.
Oh, and need used equipment? I got an extra monitor, super specs, for $50. My friend got, inexpensively, a rebuilt laptop to take on trips because she keeps losing hers or having them stolen.
The Service Dept.'s hours are great. They're open on weekends, are there from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, Wed thru Sunday, only closed on Mon and Tues. And it's not unusual, if I forget and call on one of the closed days, that Marcus will answer the phone and help out anyway.
These are good guys. Geeks, but good guys. :-). I never hesitate to refer anyone to them. The guys are not infallible, they don't walk on water. But they're frank about what they can do or not, what it will cost, they give their best estimate on the time it will take to get the machine back to you, and pretty much get things done by then or earlier.
There is another partner, James, but I rarely have interaction with him. Almost always it's Marcus. Seems like he's the main one that comes to the front desk or answers the phone. I learned about them thru our local weekly paper's little article when they first started up. I'm impressed that what began as two young guys having the shop open a couple of days a week while keeping their day jobs has developed into full time for them and the addition of several employees. They're doing something right.
Taken all together, I can't recommend them highly enough.

  • I used the most amazing person I have every met to repair my computer! The business is owned by two local guys. One thing I really like is that they are open Wednesday to Sunday. They take Monday and Tuesday off. But when do you usually have computer problems? On the weekend when every body else is closed! I also like that they come to your home, and their prices are ridiculously reasonable. For the last repair, I spent $150, and $100 of that was for software. They get the highest, best grades possible! They are my go to! I am not touching anything without calling them first.
