    Treadline Construction
This was a big job with maple floors in the kitchen, family room, entry, stairs and upstairs hallway. We are so happy with the new look and couldn't be more pleased with the quality of work from Alex, Oleksi and the team of guys who worked on our home. Their skills and professionalism were impressive and appreciated. Thank you Ovi, Kelly and all the guys!

Tony came to our rescue on this job! We had hired another company to replace a lot of our exterior window and door trim due to dry rot. The rot was only in the trim and had not penetrated further into the frames or other sub-structure. The other company was insisting on pulling out each window just to replace the trim and charging us hourly. After 2 days, we realized that the job was going to cost us upwards of $30,000 or more at the rate they were going and so we canned them. But that meant that we were stuck with half of our windows demoed in November and 2 weeks of rain coming. That's when I called Tony and asked if he could come out and take a look at the mess and see what he could do. He affirmed what some other people had told us - that it was not necessary to pull out each window for our job. He spent a lot of time looking at each window and door gave us a very fair bid to finish the job. He and Ben started work the very next day after we accepted his bid and worked through the weekend to get the job done including painting the trim and door before it was supposed to rain on the Monday. The work included replacing the trim and flashing, fixing the siding that had been demoed by the other company and replacing our back door and frame. I told him what kind of door I wanted but have to admit I was a little nervous having him pick it out for me. He went to Home Depot and sent me pictures of 3 doors in our price range so I could pick the one I liked the best. I had not asked him to send me the pictures. It was very thoughtful and shows the attention to detail you will get from him. I really like our new door! The door was tricky to put in and took him longer than expected but he did not charge us extra. He did not 'nickel and dime' us and we are very happy with his workmanship and he and Ben are both very nice and trustworthy people.

The job went excellently. The installers, Adam and Adrian, were thoughtful, friendly and on time each day. The difficult lacing of the flooring was done so well that you cannot  notice any of the joints. The old floor was sanded and stained to match the new flooring so well that there is absolutely no noticeable difference between the old and the new.
The project was completed on time. The workmanship is excellent and there were no surprises from what we had discussed or with our signed contract. We would absolutely recommend Treadline to anyone that needed hardwood flooring refinished or installed. The owners Ovi and Kelly are great people and Ovi worked closely with us through the planning of the project.
The results of their work exceeded our expectations!

Above All Fences Decks & Construction LLC
A few days before they were scheduled to begin (June, 2014), they called to say that they were moving up their schedule, and would begin a day EARLY. Old deck, railing, and half-cover were quickly dismantled on Monday. By Friday, both the rear deck, stairs, and front porch rebuild were DONE. Not anticipating such fast work, I had to scramble to get them their check. They used 2x6 cedar planking on the deck, and though I was concerned about it's appearance, they made it look very neat, and of course it was the cheapest way to go. Their workmanship was excellent throughout the job. The front porch composite looks especially nice on this older house (built 1980).The fence replacement was scheduled separately, and because their crew was already booked, we did not see a new fence until mid-August.  Again the work was quick and neat; old materials removed cleanly.
A very minor issue: since we had not done work like this for 20 years, we forgot to anticipate material deliveries, and we needed a little hand-holding to make room for everything. It all worked out, again speedily, and nothing was stacked in odd places for more than a day or two.
Above All Fences & Decks are trustworthy; they try to save their customers money. We have recommended this company to our friends, without reservation.

    Ed Gause Construction
We had some storm damage to a railing that surrounds our back deck.  Ed was recovering from major surgery, so we were happy to wait a couple of weeks for him to get back on his feet in a professional sense.  Ed came by to look at the challenge of doing a repair that looked good as well as being as attractive as the original installation.  He spend a half hour inspecting the damage and taking measurements. Within a day or two, Ed had researched what was necessary in terms of hardware brackets. The following day, he phoned to say that he was ready to go to work. The project went forward without any problems.  Ed has an "old-fashioned" commitment to quality and craftsmanship.   I cannot say enough good things about our experience with his firm. And, to add icing to the cake, Ed has a great personality and a wicked sense of humor.

I usually wait about a year to put in my comments, that gives time to make sure the job stands up to the test of time. Above All Fences did a great job and the fence is about as perfect as it gets. Hard workers, great job. at a really fair price.

    Refined Restoration
Randy solved a real problem for me - the previous owner had built an outside "garden" sink out of WOOD - which had rotted and fallen apart. He tore it off and designed a new sink and counter covered in freeze-proof tile and weather-proof plumbing. It is beautiful, wonderful to use, and easy to winterize. He was professional, on time, tidy and a person who obviously enjoys his work. Best of all he values quality and attention to detail. Delightful to work with him. He's also give me tips for other tradesmen that he trusts to give good service and they've all been wonderful too!

    Interstate Roofing
I had a major leak in one of the bedrooms and other smaller leaks throughout the house.  Sean Clay did the inspection and gave a professional explanation of what needed to be done and the materials that could be used.  I had a couple additional items done such as replacing one of the fascia boards (which had dry rot) on the attic peak and adding soffit vents.  The roofers were professional.  They stayed focused and worked hard.  The first day was a very long one and they didn't stop working until the new ice and water barrier material had been laid which was a good thing since it rained the next day.  The total job took about three days.  They cleaned up the grounds around the house very well.  I am very satisfied with the new roof and I would recommend hiring Interstate Roofing.

    Deck Masters, LLC

The entire process was very smooth from beginning estimate and planning meeting to completion (9 business days of actual construction); 3-week lead time which was better than their direct competitor in the area with 7-8+ weeks lead time  (from planning to project start date). This company, Deck Masters (Portland OR) has a small crew who are completely professional; project was completed on time and within the price estimate and the result was outstanding. They were about $2K less then direct competitor!

The crew consisted of Mike, Brandon, and construction supervisor, Matt.  Everyone was a pleasure to work with.  They arrived on time, finished on time (9 days), worked through one terrible day of very heavy rain and hail and always had a smile on their face...and they really care about doing a stellar job!  The deck they resurfaced (and repaired rotting stairs at a reasonable, additional charge) is a work of art.  I worked closely with Chris the sales and project manager for Deck Masters (and construction supervisor, Matt) and it couldn't have gone any better --  quick communication and follow up to my questions; he was aware of what was happening with the crew at all times, and was quick to communicate with me concerning any additional work needed/price adjustment, delays, etc., were fully communicated to me and discussed along the way (mostly via email).  I was informed the first or second day that there were issues with the initial home/deck construction done back in 2003 -  bad nails and some of the steps were rotting - 11 years later.  Chris gave me a very fair, reasonable price adjustment on labor and materials and I saw proof of the materials that needed replacement, etc.   This was something that needed to be rectified before they proceeded with new decking materials.   Their prices were great...quality of work is outstanding...and their small crew is professional, respectful, honest, hardworking and they always cleaned up after themselves.  My deck is SO beautiful and we will no longer have to worry about it peeling, warping, etc. in our tough Oregon climate.  If you do this type of composite deck remodeling (e.g. TimberTech) go all the way and have lights installed on the posts and step risers - it is like the icing on the cake  -- beautiful beyond belief with exceptional craftsmanship.  The project pictures are posted on the Deck Masters website.  This was an amazing, though expensive project -  but worth every $$$.  Thanks, guys, for a job well done!  Mary, Cliff and rascal kitties (Tualatin OR)

    PACIFIC WEST ROOFING

Pacific West did an outstanding job replacing our roof. Matt was very knowledgeable about the material options and did a great job showing the quality of work we would get from the company. He actively steered us to an excellent choice of shingle and was available for all questions. Matt knew a lot about ventilation, more than the other companies we talked with.  The installation crew was professional and quick to answer our questions and take care of small requests we made.  Pacific West was quick to fix damage to our garage ceiling (a heavy metal anchor fell through the ceiling) and the repair was done very well.  We highly recommend Pacific West Roofing and feel the entire experience was extremely positive.
