    Timberland Animal Clinic
This happened a couple of years ago it still traumatizing to write about but I am hoping it saves people money, time and especially pain for them and their animals and maybe even saves a pets life.Dr.Becky misdiagnosed my pup by saying she had arthritis and totally ignored my pleas to do blood work, she just pumped my dog full of steroids and told me she has been a vet for a long time and knows what she's doing. After not being listened to I took my pup to Gresham Animal Clinic where Dr.Silver immediately ordered bloodwork(he was flabbergasted that the vet at Timberline didn't do any tests because a dog that young wouldn't have arthritis)They found her platelets were dangerously low and referred us to VCA in Clackamas but by the time we got there it was too late and I had to put her down, her spleen was full of blood, she was in a lot of pain.I'll never know if she could have made it but I can say that she suffered a lot unnecessarily because of them and their ego, she was only 1 and a half years old. When I kept insisting that she needed bloodwork because she was getting worse I told that they could not have me as a client anymore. They are ego maniacal and do not care about your pets, especially Dr.Becky.If you love your animals don't take them to this place.

Animal Island Domestic and Exotic Pet Care / Pet Sitting
When we came home, our kitties had been well cared for.  In addition, Katie tidied up the house so that we did not come home to a haired out house.  She even left the kitties treats and toys.  She is a great lady and affordable pet sitter.

when first entering the exam room, vet took a flea comb and combed my dog's back.2 fleas and flea dirt fell onto then prescri

bed flea meds (75.00).I took my dog home, gave her a bath and meds but there were no fleas or flea dirt in the water.then I bathed my other dog and gave her the meds.Again,no fleas or flea dirt.neither one of the dogs had prior signs of any fleas this year,or for the last 10 years! The dog that I had taken to the vet got quite ill from the meds, the other dog is okay.I have been using this clinic since 1998,so I don't know what to think about the 2 fleas and flea dirt that appeared in the exam room that day.a friend recommended her vet who is less expensive and very good.think I'll take my babies there.

    Companion Pet Clinic-Gresham
I called several vets after having a horrible experience with another local clinic regarding our puppy.  On the phone it was explained to me that this is a walk-in clinic, and honestly, if I hadn't had such a negative experience elsewhere, we never would have gone here.  I am so glad we did, though.  We got there about an hour after they opened, and put on our big-kid pants expecting to wait.  We were seen so quickly, which beats the 1.5 hour wait at the previous clinic that came with an appointment, mind you!  From the tech to the vet, everyone was very appreciative of our puppy, and our choice to bring her to them.  Such a drastic change from our earlier experience.  We discussed good puppy-owner habits, things to watch out for regarding the health of our pup, she got vaccinated and we started her on flea preventative, and will plan to always bring her back to this clinic.  Don't let the "no appointment" policy fool you, it keeps costs down, and we were still seen (with a full waiting room) in less than 30 minutes from our arrival!

    Banfield The Pet Hospital
We went to this vet Jodie Jones at Banfield after going to VCA 12 mile in Gresham. She was very clear in her diagnosis, plan and procedure. She did not charge us for the initial visit establishing the plan, she had thought about the surgery prior to our arrival and had some concerns to share with us prior to surgery. We had to decide whether to take off just the small (scallop) from our Boxer's ear or almost half the ear in case it was cancerous. We chose to start small prior to pathology. The end result was she did a very clean, expert job on the ear, was very cognizant of our dog's needs, and the results were clear. She was straight forward, concerned for the dog and very clear with us about expectations, etc. We were also impressed by Tiffany the assistant who was great with our dog...she too is a boxer fan. All in all we were very pleased with the work, attitude and professionalism of the staff we dealt with and very appreciative of Dr. Jones' demeanor and class.

    VCA 12-Mile Animal Hospital
oWe had to go to this veterinarian office three separate times for this illness/issue, causing
us three office fees, etc. The first time we met with one vet and the
next times two with another vet. The first vet was new from the east
coast, very pleasant and helpful, but the remedy did not help. When we
returned the next time we got another vet who did very little to help
except share her and quot;verbal expertiseand quot; and recommend multiple expensive
tests, medications and when each vet was asked about a bump that appeared to
be a tick reaction on his ear they said it was not a big deal, and in fact the
second vet picked off the scab, it bled and she had very little concern
about it. The growth did not go away, we had lost confidence in this
VCA and then took our boxer to another veterinarian. We are very glad
we changed...we had gone to VCA for 8 years!!! This three visit/non resolved process cost us $700 plus...VCA is overpriced, has at least one new vet who we would certainly not trust our pets to again.

With a large breed dog, it is doubly important that they have some manners. Susan taught both our classes and is terrific with dogs and their people. The classes start and finish on time and the pups have a lot of fun and pull on their leads to get into the classroom (until, of course, they are trained to walk/heel appropriately). My Doby still pulls a lot at this location only!
We will take additional classes as soon as schedules match!

    2 Cats in the Yard
Cheryl did a great job with our cats. She left a detailed list of what happened between her and each cat. The cats looked great when we returned from our trip. I would use 2 Cats in the Yard the next time I need a pet sitter.

    The Pet Set PDX
Loved the fact that our dogs did not have to sit in a kennel all day and were able to socialize with the other dogs. They provided everything that we asked for and the dogs were not stressed out at all. The only negative is that we live almost 25 miles away and driving to downtown Portland can be quite challenging at various times of the day. Now if they would only move out to east county!

    Ally's Dog Spa
I called on Friday and got in right away on Saturday. This was the second time in for one of our dogs and first for the other. They were able to get both in at the same time, cost of $50.00 each. They did a great job, did exactly what we asked and were also a bit less expensive than other grooming salons we used. The store was clean and the staff was friendly. No complaints. I will be using them again.
