I wanted to give them an F for fantastic, but your rating system wouldn't get it! I was selling my house and an inspection came up with mold in my attic. I was devistated, but called the best. Ryan came out first, to look things over. He gave me an honest appraisal of what was there. His crew showed up and it was total professionalism from the start to the finish. During the process my family and I were protected from the mold. Set up and clean up each day was precise so I could have a normal life. I have dealt with many companies in the past, but they go way above in all things! If I could rate them higher than A I would.

Rondy did a great job. I'm all about punctuality and as I rolled up 10 min early to the inspection Rondy was already out front starting to look around and inspect what he could without going on to the property (water lines, reviewing roof conditions, driveway, etc.). Already a great start to the appointment. He was very thorough in the inspection and kept me up to date and showed me everything that he was seeing. Explained what he saw, what it might cause if it weren't fixed and urgency needed. Always answered the questions I had and followed up with a recommendation if it were something that I was looking to change. Very personable and professional from start to end. He fielded my initial call and explained the process and followed up immediately afterwards like he said he would and we had the inspection scheduled the next day. Inspection took about 3 hours. We finished at about 4pm and he had the final report written up and sent by 10pm. Was very pleased with his work and would recommend his service to anyone looking for a home inspection.

    Environmental Works LLC
Our home sale Inspection involved a radon monitor set in lowest room for 2 days to register radon levels.  Ours was about 6. and a squeak over the 4.0 limit, thus requiring a mitigation venting system to be installed.  I called 2 companies highest rated on Angies List.  Both scheduled hours apart same day for estimate.  Both estimators very personable.  Huge difference in price, despite identical approach + materials.
Environmental Works won the job.  What an impressive team!  We are immensely pleased with every aspect from phone contact, scheduling, initial inspection and then installation, E.W. is an exceptional company!  All persons were genuinely cheerful, clearly felt  pride in their work and demonstrated the best in customer service.
On my first call, I was offered a 'tentative hold' on their next avail appt reservation, which frankly saved the job for them & me, since I'd almost dismissed them thinking it wouldn't work.  Until Candice asked "would you like us to hold that date until you can confirm it by tomorrow?"  Yes please!
I still booked a 2nd company for a sensible 2nd estimate to compare.
The 2nd company is also highly rated on Angies List.  However, they would charge fully $700 more.   Why is that?
    > Both estimates occurred the same day, well spaced apart &  knew nothing of the other company appt.
    > Both companies gave detailed descriptions of IDENTICAL materials used, same layout.
    > Both companies aim to improve upon the legal 4.0 max pCi/L (picocuries?)  and aimed instead for the World Health Organization (WHO) action level of 2.7 pCi/L
    > Both companies offered the 10 yr warranty WITH THE PROPERTY, so warranty remains effective even after we move next month.
    > Both companies would install system, set up monitor / return after 48 hrs to ensure the reading reached the desired 2.7 limit.  IF NOT, the both companies would tweak the system to achieve the reading at no additional cost.
    > Both companies would send a 2 man team, (although E.W. 2nd worker was not needed until later in the full day process).
Unable to find a difference between the work, the materials, the layout, the radon reading goals, the warranty or any aspect of the job, WHY would we pay $700 more?  I wonder if the 2nd company is simply in such high demand they can ask for & receive the higher fee?  People doing their due diligence (such as reading this report) can decide for themselves.
Having decided upon Environmental Works we proceeded to book the appointment so kindly "temp held" for us.
Sebastian arrived and very efficiently assessed the job site, rapidly deciding the preferred layout for pipes & fan motor.  Explained the process clearly, so it was easy to understand.
Days later, Alex arrived on the job.  Don't be disconcerted by his youth.  Alex knew exactly what to do, 1st reviewing the layout with me, then patiently addressed my questions and concerns.  He is very polite, cheerful, and such a hard worker.  I hope E.W. values him highly.  Alex toured the job side inside from the ground level utility closet (indoors, back of garage wall)  - - thru the garage wall - -  to underside of back porch - - to the tall corner of the house.  SEE PHOTOS.
Alex worked steadily all the long hot day (a real scorcher) and took kindly to my offers of cold water, chilled snacks and a little rattan stool to sit on while working inside the utility closet.  Helping make comfortable people who work on your home goes a long way toward a successful outcome, and everyone benefits.  I was glad to offer him cool wet cloths to wipe off with.  Or suggest wetting tshirt at faucet, wring it out & wear it for evaporative cooling while up on tall ladder in hot sun.  He was able to work happier & more comfortable, even though he still maintained composure when hot & sweaty.
Alex bored thru the concrete to create the capture basin.  Installed pipes thru wall of garage & routed to under the porch.  SEE PHOTOS.  The round PVC pipe is somewhat larger around than typical downspouts, but routed up corner of the house is quite inconspicuous.  The eye quickly becomes accustomed to it.
On our job site, the 4 level house is VERY TALL indeed.  By afternoon, Ken arrived to help wrangle heavy ladders into place, including hefting it up over a top deck without mangling the rail.   He was then able to both consult about parts needed / their attachemnt process / fetch & hand parts to Alex on the ladder, all while guarding the ladder for Alex safety.   The two of them then set about patching & pretty-fying the drilled holes / started up the fan motor / and cleaned up the entire job site.
Throughout the long hot day, Alex worked with relentless energy and good cheer.  He was a delight to have here.  Ken is just as personable and clearly they make a really great team.
Thank you all at Environmental Works for everything.  We heartily and glowingly recommend to others.  We'd hire you again in a heartbeat.

Brian was on time for the estimate and the work. It was done for the price quoted and he removed all mold. The work was very professional and I'm extremely satisfied with the results. I highly recommend this company for mold removal.

    Oregon Restoration Co.
It went great.  I called the company on a Saturday morning and received a call right back from Ryan.  He was very helpful and offered to come out within an hour to make an assessment of the water damage.  He was very professional and friendly.  He offered his services to fix the ceiling and carpet, but due to the minimal damage he recommended what things we could do ourselves since we are in the process of remodeling the basement anyway.  He recommended finding a plumber to fix the broken pipe since that is not something he does.  I appreciated his honest assessment and will use this company in the future if the need arises.

I called 3 places to get bid. Oregon Restoration's bid 'was right in the middle. After speaking with all 3 companies, I felt Ryan was the

best choice for me to go with. He came right out and inspected the water damage I feel in my bathroom floor. There was standing water under my house due to a leaking pipe ongoing. He immediately brought in large fans to dry out the floor as well as underneath the house. After everything was dry, he put new insulation under the house. The original was destroyed due to the water damage. I cannot believe how a stressful situation like mine, ended up not being such. He explained each step he had to do, and why. He was also extremely considerate to my concerns I had with the damage. When he was done with his work, he left my home exactly how it was. He is neat, orderly, punctual and very knowledgeable!! I could tell he had a "passion" for what he did. I would have Oregon Restoration again. I was highly satisfied from start to finish.

    Mold Inspection Sciences of Portland
Great experience.  Craig (our inspector) actively listened to our observations and concerns about the house.  He methodically set-up and used his equipment.  He was very thorough in his examination and assessment of the whole house.  He explained his findings and recommendations in clear language.  We learned that our worries were unfounded:.The # of samples was up to me, and pricing was clear prior to selecting which ones to authorize. Although the individual samples really added up ($100*5) our peace of mind was worth the fee, In retrospect I probably chose too many, simply because I was worried about missing something.

    AdvantaClean of Washington County
Our experience with AdvantaClean was (and continues to be) excellent. We have a moisture problem in our attic which caused some mold growth. Brian came out and took care of the issue. He was friendly, willing to work with the pricing, punctual and very helpful. He has gone above and beyond by helping with references for ventilation professionals and contractors. Brian has even followed-up by checking the attic after hours. The experience has been nothing but excellent. I would recommend them to everybody.

    Cascade Radon Inc
Insepctor was prompt and professional. Inspector installed the monitoring gear, and explained the process. Once the monitoring gear was retreived days later, the detailed report was available quickly. We have not yet decided to retain their services for mitigation of the higher than acceptable radon levels reported on.

Our overall experience with Oregon Restoration was great and we would hire them again to do work on our house if needed. Ryan and his team were very thorough in the work they did and worked quickly.  Ryan, the owner, was very knowledgeable about the work that he does and was very open to anwering any questions we had and giving us any advice.  Thank you!!!
