She is pretty awesome. I've been taking her for years, and it’s been really good service. I have used them for thirteen years. They are good on following up on the tests and getting back. The receptionist staff is really good too. They call and remind us of our appointment and certain things that need to be done. They also email us. They tell us that something is coming up for a certain vaccination on our cat. They also send our cat birthday cards. With regard to price, they are compatible with everybody, but vets are just very expensive. I think that they are comparable. The quality is great.

    EAGLE FERN VETERINARY HOSPITAL
Last year I brought my Siberian Husky in to receive the state law mandated exam and to get her Rabies vaccine injection. I do my own vaccinations purchasing the vaccines from Coastal or Valley Vet. (Both are licensed by the State of Oregon for dispensing veterinary medicines.) My emergency kit at home was out of saline and ringers. I asked to get an Rx in order to keep the salt water on the shelf in case of emergency. The Dr. would sell me a unit of ringers for 15.00 (I could buy for under 2$ if I had an Rx) She would not issue an Rx for Acepromazine Maleate or Lidocaine . She talked me into her prepaid program where you pay upfront for a year and all her office calls are then free as well as her shots etc. I paid.
On January 2nd my dog got a laceration on her left thigh. It required irrigation and sutures. I have a suture kit and plenty of sterile suture sets, but no tranquilizer or lidocaine so I would hurt the dog to do the repair. So I took the dog into see the Dr.
Upon arrival, I am ussured into a "private" room. Then the vet tech comes in and takes vitals and does a triage. Then the vet comes in and says that it will be a couple of hours, I send back an estimate of charges. The dr. doesn't come in with the estimate, she sends in her tech with this 500.00 estimate! I challenge the amount and am told that the 200+ dollar prepaid plan only covers the visit. No Rx will be given, if I want the dog repaired I will sign the estimate. I signed but noted it was under duress.
The ala carte charges were ridiculous. For example, "anesthesia ... 160.00".  A 25cc vile of Acepromazine Maleate costs about $22.00, enough for many procedures. Lidocaine Injection 2%, 50ml, for nerve block is $3.43, again enough to do many procedures. So to charge 160.00 for 5.00 worth of medication is criminal. The individual prices they listed on the bill were marked up 1000 to 10000 percent.
This place is like a high pressure car dealership. The won't talk to you until they usher you into a private room where nobody else can overhear. They use trigger language, such as referring to a simple suture job as "surgery", pick her up in a couple of hours as admitting her to the hospital",etc . They refuse to provide you an Rx for the two meds which would enable a person on a small income to do the repair himself.
I intend on filing a complaint with the state Veterinary Board of Examiners.

They are really good about explaining if they have to go further how much it's going to cost and what it's going to mean. They just explain everything and so I have an informed choice to make. The cost definitely varies because I might not see them for 6 months, or I might see them 3 times a month. It kind of depends on the dog.

    Stark Street Animal Clinic
Dr. Gary Powers is the vet and I go there because of him. He did a surgery on my dog. They don't try to oversell like some vets do. The estimate they gave me was accurate. They like the animals and the vet is very friendly and approachable.

    GREEN ACRES K-9 RESORT
Boarded my 7 year old Rott and 3 year old Doberman together for 3 nights and 3 days with doggy daycare. The staff was friendly and helpful. When I picked my dogs up they were in doggy daycare and I watched them for a few minutes through the window before going in, they seemed to be having fun. Both dogs were pooped and spent much of the rest of the day at home sleeping and lying around. My Doberman is able to open gates and the staff was able to work with this to ensure no one escaped =) In the end the only thing I would like to change is the make the boarding kennels more like home, with some soft lighting and perhaps a little music. SOunds silly I know but my dogs are my kids and are always inside so I am sure that was the biggest stressor for them with their stay, I think if it were more homely like then dogs might be more comfortable. Otherwise a big A+ and I will be returning!

They are great and very kind. The day before I had to have my other dog put down and they were very kind about it. They sent me a sympathy card with a square of card stock inside with my dog's foot print on it in ink. It was so sweet.

    ELIZARES OBEDIENCE TRAINING & BOARDING
I had recently adopted a doberman from the humane society and took him in to see Lesa to lay some groundwork. Lesa gave me some very useful tips, and was extremely familiar with the breed. In about five minutes she had my dobie following her commands and was very helpful in evaluating my instructing abilities. I had requested a private session out of preference mostly and I was very satisfied with the service. I had only two sessions with Lesa but surely would return for more if it were needed. I was very happy with the progress I saw in the two sessions and continue to use the tools, and commands she taught me. I was also very thankful that Lesa allowed me to bring in my rott for a few so she could show me how to teach the dogs to heal on a dual lead.

    Dogwood Pet Hospital
The staff at Dogwood is fantastic, they all have a true love of animals of all kinds and are very professional and reasonable. I brought my new dog in for a checkup which the vet didn't charge me for since I had adopted him. My new dog had a few small issues that we were able to discuss and he gave a lot of experienced advice. In the past I had taken a much older dog (12) to this vet that I had adopted as well and he had quite a few health issues, I found it very comforting that the vet was very realistic in approaching these issues and not pressing me to treat them just to make another buck.

I was very satisfied with Megan and I would recommend her. She weighed about 110 pounds and insisted on personally running a trench through to put the line in, which was very demeaning for me standing next to her. If the neighbors were watching, they must have wondered why I was not helping her. But she wouldn't accept the help. That was one thing. The other thing was that her husband was doing the electrical which meant that he was sitting on a bucket doing nothing. So he must have got the abuse too. Megan is relatively new at it, less than a couple of years, but she is gifted. I talked to 2 others and she won hands down because of her interaction with my dog. My dog is a 110-pound 10-month-old Irish wolfhound and he is going to get bigger. He is a gentle and sensitive animal and despite his big size, he immediately took to her. The others came here with dogs that were not well-mannered. Her price was very competitive. She did the work in one day. She was 10 minutes early. She was thorough and I would use her again. The price was relative to what she did so that could be very misleading. Her price was $1100.00. The competitive prices were $1500.00 and $1900.00 and I would have paid either of those prices if I had perceived value.

    POWER LINE KENNELS
Kenneled our three dogs. They kept them all together, and were great. We have been taking our "kids" to powerline for 10 years. Their staff is great, and very professional with the dogs. Its a safe kennel, and our dogs are ALWAYS very happy when we pick them up. Highly recommend this business. Its a small enough business to really attend to our dogs needs.
