    On Electric
The journeymen were professional and not only did a great job, but let me take on some of the labor to help with the cost. I am grateful for this. They had an apprentice come out that was not as helpful, but they ultimately did not charge for him. Overall, very happy.

    Rite Way Electric Inc
The box we had was no longer legal so had to be changed and had to move for the electric company. We wanted some dedicated lines on new circuits for the garage door, air conditioner, split the kitchen line to accommodate more small appliances, outlets and plates added in some rooms as well as all outlets and plates changed out to safety outlets in the kitchen, living room bedrooms and hall bath. I knew they would find some wiring done by amateurs given the state of the prior owners remodels over the years and I was right. Our house was built in the 50's so I know the wiring is old. I can now sleep better knowing the outlets are properly wired and protected and my fear of a house fire has been relieved. They fixed all of those problems and also fixed the ceiling fan in the bathroom. We were very pleased with their service and plan on having them back in the future to complete phase three of our remodel.

    Northside Electric
The best electricians in Salem for sure. I just had new siding put on my house and all the exterior lights (five) had to be re-installed for which I bough all new light fixtures. I also had to have an exterior electrical outlet replaced and a heat pump power box attached to the new siding. The electrician, Chuck, was early (called first to verify if it was OK), and did all the work in just under an hour. I was thoroughly impressed with how efficiently and professionally he did the job. He was a really nice guy and very knowledgeable with my questions. I was initially expecting it to take to 2-3 hours minimum and he got it completed in 1 hour. My exterior is now well lit once again. I would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again in the future if I have electrical needs. Thank you Northside.

    Cherry City Electric
The repair was completed correctly, although there was considerable delay in part due to ordering of parts required, as well as due to inclement weather during the holiday season. We were not concerned about that, as there was prompt response to our calls. Unfortunately when we were billed I found out that we were paying for the electrician to drive both directions from Salem to Portland for 3 trips to our home which ultimately took place to resolve the issue. 15 hours of labor were charged to complete this work in addition to parts which left the initial bill at just under $3000. It also took more than 1 month (closer to 2) to obtain a detailed itemized receipt so I could understand what was billed leaving me feel the cost was not transparent. The quality of work was great, but please be cautious about overtime and labor charges if the cost of your project is a concern.

    Leighs Construction Co
Fantastic. I very highly and enthusiastically recommend Leigh's Construction. Jeremy Leigh followed through on every commitment he made to me--and he has been professional, thorough, helpful, responsive and honest. He and his staff provide quality work--they took the mess that the previous contractor left and created my now beautiful kitchen. I trust himand am now using him for all of my construction and maintenance needs.

    Northside Electric
We would like to thank all at Northside Electric for giving us such a positive experience. Our older home had knob and tube wiring that needed to be updated. Jeff Crandall visited us first, cast an expert eye over our home and gave us sage advice. He helped us avoid a couple of errors we might have made. The guys who did the work -- Keith Webb, Paul Turner, and Rick Dewar -- did a splendid job. At all times they brought their best judgment to the task, treating our home with the same level of care as they would have given their own. And the folks who manned the desks were so professional, too. Specifically Ginny and Crystal. We recommend Northside Electric to all.

    CBI Remodel
Let me start off by saying do not hire this company to do any remodel work for you. They will come into your home just as nice as can be and collect your money to start the project. They will start your project as they claim and show up initially the first time. Then give you a schedule of when and what they will be doing. The excuses will start immediately. Why they cannot be there. Their employees are nice but they will give you all the drama that is going on with the company nonstop. CBI Remodel does not do anything near quality work even if you call it work. We hired them for a Major Master Bath and Master walk-in closet remodel. The plumbing had to be redone twice by another plumber that I had to hire myself. The electrical work was the same way. They would not replace the insulation back into the walls until I complained enough. It took a separate contractor to fix all of the walls that where textured, painted, and patched. They will ask for more money for work they never did. (They will try to get cash from you. Don't do it) Needless to say we had to resolve all of our issues through hiring an attorney. Their website is nothing compared to what you will get when you hire them. Do not believe a word they tell you. I have all the before, during and after pics. I also have all of the text, email and conversations back and forth with them as proof of the horrible work they did on our project and them admitting to it. Too bad you have to give them one star as they are not deserving of that either. In addition check out the Oregon Contractor Control Board and type in their contractors license. Also check out their history.

    Leighs Construction Co
93% of 128 all time reviews in 9 years have given Leigh's an 'A', 6% a 'B' a total of  99% happy customers for work performed .  More weight should be given to this number as Leigh's, compared to many providers, does not in
any way ask for a review. They do bend over backwards to please
the customer, their work is outstanding, only the highest quality of
materials such as wood and plywood ? stuff you will no see but
    very important are used.
    About an hour after I
placed a request for a bid thru Angies list, Diane called,
scheduled an appointment for a bid. Jeremy arrived on time and later
that day gave me a bid for labor as I had most of the materials and
supplies. The bid came out lower than I expected. I did my homework
by going to google and asking 'what is the cost of _____ at homewyse
' which takes you to the site where you put in you zip and get a
high and low costs for your area. As I have used Leigh's before
and know the quality of work, I consider this company to be high end
and expected a higher bid. A couple of decades ago, I was once
married to a building contractor in a major city and saw the inside
of this type of business. The one memory which stands out the most
are the smooth talking, con's with faked references who were hired.
Once the incompetence was discovered and these men were let go, they
go on to do bidding for the unsuspecting homeowner with the faked
references. Hiring a legitimate, insured licensed contractor who
will not run off with your money and/or ruin your home can not be
stressed enough. A couple of years ago, Leigh's remodeled 3
bathrooms updating structurally floors, using ceramic and porcelain
tile and did a wonderful job. As I have posted here before, there
was an issue 9 months later, not only did Leigh's respond via phone
quickly, Jeremy himself came to my home and later the issue was
resolved. Most building contractors would not respond this way
unless there was more money to be made. The stress is great on the
contractors side also as an unbalanced nightmare customer can reek
havoc on a good company such as Leigh's.
Having your homeremodeled can be one of the most stressful events. Divorces happen,
families break up and long lasting bad memories can be created. I am
fascinated how Leigh's have their bases covered to eliminate as
much stress as possible. Not only does Jeremy have a good eye in
hiring his skilled employees but I suspect he gives some sort of
'training' or 'talking to' in maintaining a positive attitude and
pleasing the customer as it has been my experience everyone makes the
extra effort to please. They are clean cut, pleasant to b around
and there is a 'twinge' of sadness when the job is completed and
they are gone. Diane, Leigh's office and 'PR' person is also a
major component of this smoothly run business. She is knowledgeable
of the work, very likable, will call every morning informing you of
schedules, what will be done, is available if you need further
communication thru the day and will come to your home to deliver the
contract and scope of work if you do not want to download it via
computer. She sees to it every detail, no matter how small, gets
done. The initial paperwork is simple. If you accept Jeremy's bid,
you will receive a 'scope of work' which details all work to be done
and how much you can spend in materials such as choosing tiles, light
fixtures in order to stay inside the bid. The contract itself is
    also simple and straight forward.

    Rite Way Electric Inc
The scope of work makes it sound like a walk in the park - but the buildings involved, with the exception of the chicken coop, date from 1901 and many of them were still wired with knob and tube.  The property was seriously underpowered and we had concerns that a surge might cause a permanent failure.  Big problem since we are on a well.  Rite Way told us that if we had a failure before our scheduled date for service they would come out on an emergency basis and get us operational.  That was a very important reassurance for us since the lights dimmed every time we used a large appliance.
All the staff, office, estimator, scheduler and installation crew were courteous and professional.  The work crew arrived on time and cleaned up afterwards everyday.  Rite Way scheduled the inspection with the County and we passed with flying colors.  The inspector asked who had done the work and we told him Rite Way.  He commented they always do great work.  That made me really glad we had selected them!
We plan to have them come back to u[grade the house, additional outbuildings and the big barn.  I'd recommend them in a heartbeat!

    Cravenho Construction & Building
Everything went well.  We appreciated that Jason fit us in to his schedule fairly quickly as we were in a hurry.  It made a long day for him and his crew. Jason said he would show up with another person to do the work, for a total of two guys for four hours.  He showed up with a crew of 3 (one additional person) and still worked the four hours.  Some of the jobs were easy but the cabinet and sink work was more complicated.
Jason and his crew did good work.  We were happy with everything, and especially the cabinet work.  Our home is much more functional now.
These guys seem capable of complicated and simple jobs.  I recommend them.
