MELTON HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING INC
Awesome. Emailed on a Sunday. Service Tech was out on Monday morning. Diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and installed on Tuesday. This was during a period of 90 degree days. I have used Melton's for the past 15+ years and will continue to use them. Always a pleasure to deal with.

Pleased with my appt. He checked out my a/c, filters needed changing just as I suspected. Did a thorough check on my a/c, runs great! I asked if he cleans out the dryer filters, thankfully yes!! He was in and out in about an hour. I appreciated his promptness and cleanliness.

Separate units installed in three different rooms with each being controlled my its own thermostat control unit. Units will not work independently as programmed in its own thermotat control unit. Upon signing up for these units it was clear that I needed to control each room separately. In addition they did not inform me ahead of time that a unit was going to be installed on my brand new concrete driveway which would be expelling water that in the winter time turned into an ice rink on my driveway. I attempted to stop the installation of this unit but they indicated it had to be installed in that spot. Had they been upfront in telling me what would be involved I would not have had them do the installation of the system. Another company tells me that the heating and cooling units installed had problems working independently in separate rooms..... again the main reason I was looking at these units.

Our furnace went out in the middle of the night and CEC was the first company to call me back immediately. I told them we had two little kids and no heat and with the cold temperatures, Im sure they were very busy. They rearranged schedules and had someone at our house by 8am! They fixed the furnace, replaced the igniter and we had heat by 9am! The staff were very friendly and professional. Highly recommend!

They were punctual for initial 'diagnosis and repair' but unfortunately they seem to be incapable or unwilling to figure out the underlying cause of things, and more than willing to accept nearly $2500 for a 3 week "fix". I was told the electrostatic air filters were not well maintained which impeded air flow and allowed condensation to build up leading to water dripping onto the power head and shorting it. This made sense, I paid the to replace the power head, charging field and cleaned filter cells. 3 weeks later. Heat pump/furnace again stopped. Water again accumulating. They sent a service technician the following day. I am out of town and received no phone call regarding their assessment, just another invoice with a somewhat cryptic and very poorly written explanation with absolutely nobody available to talk to about it until Tuesday (after the holiday weekend). I will copy an paste their explanation here. "Found five amp low-voltage fuse blown again and water on floor. Checked thermostat found thermostat was set to 66 and calling for cooling customer set thermostat to 68 on average which of these temperatures can potentially cause the system to freeze up and do damage. Recommend leaving thermostat to 70 or above for cooling or have low ambient kit installed on system to prevent coil Freeze up. Refrigerant temperatures and yeah yeah yeah pressures are normal left EAC unplugged suggest leaving unplugged for several days to dry out it does appear to still be operational." So in short it seems they misdiagnosed the cause for water build up which lead to the initial short circuit and $2500 replacement. I went forth with a costly repair based on the information provided to me as I was told the water build up was due to lack of maintenance and not having filter cells regularly cleaned. Now filter cells are all clean and after 3 weeks we have the same problem. I have paid that money and apparently cannot turn thermostat below 68 degrees unless I have a low ambient kit installed, and who knows how much money they will want for that. I called them within 30 minutes of receiving the invoice, first could not get past the call center, then eventually forwarded my contact to the on call technician. Received a call from them shortly thereafter but he was very rude and essentially seemed to be blaming me for talking to the "wrong guy", since "I'm just the on call technician". Ultimately he had no information to offer me regarding the work done at my house earlier that morning and eventually hung up on me. Unless they are able to remedy this situation I will be talking with my credit card company about this fraudulent charge.

I've called them so many times to help us in the past 6 months and they've helped me through everything. I was so upset because our furnace went out and the lady I spoke to on the phone walked me through everything and really calmed me down. They are just awesome!

Excellent. I understand the bill of health on the furnace, and Im clear on what I shoud watch out for and when it should be looked at or replaced. The guy was super nice and helpful. I was comfortable working th him in the house.

We bought a furnace tune up for a special price on Angie list because we just purchased our house this summer and didn't know when it was last serviced. Unfortunately when they came out, no services performed because tech said the furnace was unsafe and old, and that it needed replacing asap. First, he said the fan was not running at all which made no sense because it's audible when it is on and we can feel the air blowing, heating the house well. So I challenged him on that politely, but he basically told me that it was all In my head and it was flat out broken. He also went so far as to turn off the breaker saying it was a fire hazard to keep it running. He was going to have their sales department contact us but we have a home warranty and contacted them instead. One of the home warranty contractors came out the next day and said there was nothing unsafe about it and no repairs or replacement needed at this time. In retrospect it is clear they only ruin the Angie list special to drum up new business and scare people into buying services they don't really need. I will never recommend them to anyone. Beware!

Jay was great to work with. He provides excellent customer service and was very responsive to any questions/concerns. He even came out to our house several times because we were hearing something rattling. Jay did not charge us to come out for this even though it was months after the orIginal instal. He stands by his work and we really respected that. Would definitely hire him again!

the first technician installed a new coil, but didn't check the rest of the air conditioner. When the repaired system went back online, we noticed some significant water pooling in the garage. When they sent out their master technician, he diagnosed the problem quickly, applied what we already had paid (for repairs) to a new system, and got it up and running in a day.
