    John's Waterproofing
I accepted their recommendation of a solution that would fix the moisture problem in the crawl space, 16 months ago. I paid $7,000 for a sump pump, drainage lines and a 6 mil vapor barrier. Their representative just came out and said. "you have high humidity in the crawl space and mold is starting. We recommend taking out the 6 mil barrier and doing a full encapsulation and foam installation for an additional $13,000. If what their rep is now saying is accurate, their original recommendation and work was worthless. Additionally, the original work took four workers ... working six hours... so 24 person-hours of work for about $6,000 ... with about $1,000 for the sump pump and the liner.... Sure it's tough work... but $250 per person hour?

Excellent customer service throughout from initial contact through completion of work. The professional crew came up with some creative ideas for my complicated exterior water drainage problem from malfunctioning gutters, and they cleaned out my crawlspace and added a new vapor barrier. Top notch work, they did a great job of cleaning everything up, much better than I expected. I especially enjoyed not being up-sold on work I didn't need, such as a sump pump and trenching for water that wasn't there, as another company recommended.

    VLG Construction, LLC
We hired VLG Construction on 9/13/17 to re-do the balcony off our master bedroom after obtaining estimates from multiple contractors. Vlad makes choosing VLG Construction easy. Of the 4 contractors we met with, Vlad's professionalism, knowledge and work experience was unsurpassed. Vlad transformed our balcony into exactly what we wanted. Now it is safe, water tight and absolutely beautiful! VLG Construction did an amazing job at a very reasonable price and there were no attempts to up-sell or add unnecessary expenses to the job. Vlad provided an accurate estimate, and then stuck with that figure through project completion. The project was completed on time and exactly to our specifications. We will be hiring Vlad for all our future remodel projects.

they raised the price of the quote by $300, then when it was time to pay, they sent me a bill for $550 more. They took a 3 day job and made it most of a month, i had to give my tenants rent relief. They called more than once to "come and finish" and did not show up. I would not EVER recommend them, and will do what ever i can to make sure who ever wants to use them knows the risks, and uses terrafirma instead.

    John's Waterproofing
We first called TerraFirma but the salesman said we could dig out the entire exterior, add a membrane, drains etc for about $24,000. When I pressed for other ideas he seemed unenthusiastic. I said I would think about it and he never contacted me again. We then tried another company who was at least amendable to other approaches and gave me a quote of $12,000 for a sump pump and interior perimeter drains. Then we called John's Waterproofing and Peter came out. Peter was awesome. He had a whole suite of things that could help out in the basement and really listened and discussed our options. We weren't going for a dead dry basement that we could finish, we just wanted to get it dry and lower the humidity. So Peter and I went through all the things and came up with a plan together. In the end we had a sump pump, perimeter drains in the basement and crawlspace, cleanspace barrier throughout the crawl and brightspace paneling on the walls of the basement to stop humidity coming in from the walls. We also had piping installed below ground outside in which to run the gutters out to the street. All of that for only $8000. Once agreed the crews came right on schedule and finished the work ahead of time. I've waited to give a review to see the system in action. For the past week it has been raining steadily. However in our basement is nothing but dry dust.

    Dr. Crawlspace, LLC
We just purchased a home (built 1982 in Salem) and one of its issues was the crawlspace and its drainage. It definitely needed a new vapor barrier, a good cleaning, a few vent repairs and possibly some retrenching and we needed someone to tell us if anything else needed to be addressed. Dr. Crawlspace was the fourth and last estimate we got and we are SO glad we called them! Their estimator, Chris, arrived on time for his inspection appointment and took his time inspecting and photographing our entire crawlspace. He was extremely professional, friendly and detailed when explaining his recommendations for our crawlspace, using the pictures he had taken. While other companies wanted to install their own drainage systems, Chris explained that our drainage system, while not the best and below the standard of the system they install, would do its job for several more years and that he would recommend simply cleaning the space, putting in a new vapor barrier and repairing the damaged vents. This ended up saving us thousands of dollars. He also recommended adding a high-water alarm, in case the sump failed a great suggestion, which we followed. Chris gave us a detailed, written estimate on the spot, then kept in touch with us the next day as we asked some follow-up questions communication was good and we never felt like an afterthought or a bother. A little more than a week later, their five-person work crew arrived as scheduled at 8 a.m., introduced themselves (Jeff, JT, Nick, etc.), reviewed with us the work they planned for the day, per our estimate/proposal, put on their work uniforms, goggles, etc., and disappeared into our crawlspace. After a few hours, JT came out and gave us a progress report, asking if we had any questions, then went back to work with the rest of his crew who, by the way, sang throughout the day in our crawlspace! They finished about 5:30 p.m. JT took before and after pictures, which office manager April sent us, along with our final bill (very reasonable), within a couple of days. Each staff member's interactions with us inspired confidence that they all knew their jobs and took pride in their work. This was one of the best home repair experiences we have ever had, from start to finish.

    Summit Cleaning & Restoration
Wow. I was floored by the service of this company.
Two young men arrived right on time and were very polite. They spent an entire hour under my house - and the crawlspace is very low. They found no mold, and even straightened out the vapor barrier while they were down there.
CHARGED ME NOTHING for the inspection. I was expecting that they must find something, but no - clean and clear bill of health and no charge.
I would not hesitate to hire these folks again for anything. The company could teach others how to operate, and these two chaps who did the work should be teaching classes on customer service. Wonderful, wonderful wonderful.

    John's Waterproofing
It took nearly 2 weeks to get someone out to my house, but the gentleman arrived early, was courtesy and of the 5 businesses I called they are the only ones that called back. He seemed experienced and knowledgeable. We had some miscommunication however, and about about a week later the same gentleman and his manager came out. They looked at my basement and the outside spaces and sat down with me and walked me through their whole product. At all times they were very polite and informative. I would absolutely work with them if the price had been closer to what I had in hand. I was not aware that really what they were offering was a whole system and there isn't a good way to do only part of the system or do the install in pieces. I am only having issues in one place right now, so completely doing my basement felt like a little much at this point.  Furthermore, their focus is not on keeping water out, but rather managing it once it gets in. The high price point/scope of the work combined with a financial setback that made going beyond the amount I had already saved not really an option are what stopped me. They were great to work with across the board. A year or two from now with more money and potentially more moisture issues I will probably be giving them a call.

    John's Waterproofing

Very loud: they used jackhammers to dig through the concrete; why they didn't use a concrete saw I'll never know, as it wouldn't have been so messy

They coordinated well with the plumber and also with the firm that removed the mold from the walls
