Not much to say here. They always have done extensive examination to pinpoint & isolate issues, map a plan to proceed forward. Results is what I wanted and needed, help and relief.  They always monitor closely as they should and I think the law insists on. I have seen the different staff from time to time but my favorite is Bridget. She is efficient, very, very knowledgeable in medical terms and p...

Dr. Vladimir Fiks -- the owner of the Advanced Pain Management practice actually owns the entire building, complete with a surgical suite, X-Ray and MRI diagnostic suite, Physical Therapy department, and more. I'm sorry to say that based on my experience with him and his staff, his practice is focused on racking up as many medical expenses as possible in the shortest amount of time. I had records ...

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
I was referred to Dr. Fiks due to the fact that my previous primary care practitioner had worked with his office for previous chronic pain patients. I have a chronic pain condition that requires a pain specialist, and my primary care practitioner told me that this clinic was very cooperative for her patients in Beaverton who require medication and therapeutic treatment for pain conditions. I was seeking an opinion on my condition, a diagnosis, and a therapy plan to alter the situation, as I was looking to establish my care with a specialist for pain conditions. I ended up getting charged nearly $2000 for no real examination, no significant results, & no diagnosis or plan to alter the direction of my condition and improve the quality of my life.

Great!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
My back went out and I was home in bed for a few days because of it. This is an intermittent but chronic problem for me. I met with Dr. Fiks and he took his time examining me and then spent an additional 30 minutes just explaining the situation to me and answering all of my questions. I decided for postpone treatment until I have another flare up but when it happens I know I'll be in good hands.

Overall I'm very pleased so far. I look forward to seeing how things go.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
I suffer with chronic pain along with some medical conditions that are complicated to say the least. I have Chiari Malformation Type 1, a problem with the cerebral tonsils on the back of the brain. Although I had brain surgery, which helped some, I have strange symptoms due to this and the damage it caused. The symptoms include chronic pain and Restless Leg Syndrome. I also have very bad pain in my legs and muscle weakness. This may or may not be related, it's not clear. I also suffer from problems with my Adrenal Glands and Pituitary Gland. This causes chronic fatigue. These conditions have taken YEARS to diagnose and I have seen endless doctors, specialists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, endocrinologists, all kinds of doctors. Unfortunately my pain and leg weakness continues to get worse. My doctors put me on narcotics years ago and I have never enjoyed taking them. I don't have problems with the side effects, but I am uncomfortable knowing they are so harmful to my body. I've tried to stop taking them but the pain is too much to handle and I have a very active 6 year old, so spending all day in bed isn't an option. I've finally come to terms with having to take them. However, as I understand it to be common, I've built up a tolerance for them and find less effectiveness. This is why I began looking for a Pain Management doctor. My primary doctor is at OHSU so they sent me to the OHSU Pain Clinic, but I was very unhappy with them. I've been to Advanced Pain Management Clinic a few times now and am pleased. The staff is friendly. The doctors are as well. They are very thorough, especially with a new patient. They express the seriousness of taking narcotics regularly and seem to take measures to be sure that someone hoping to get the pills and abuse them, will not be able to do so. I've heard some stories about Pain Management doctors that essentially run a "pill mill". I wouldn't say this is one of those clinics. They provide lots of information on the risks of the medications verses benefits and have you sign a contract that covers lots of rules and guidelines to assure the medication is being taken as prescribed. They also require that I see a Physical Therapist (there's one in the same building and he's super great!), see a Pain Psycologist and they want information from my Nuerologists and other specialists. I've only seen them a couple of times so for now they are continueing my medication dose as is. I'm hoping they help me find more effective pain releif going forward.

Wonderful - easy, helpful and professional.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
I have a totally degenerated right hip so have trouble walking. Recently I fell and broke my right arm. Dr. Fiks evaluated me and told me he thought I would benefit from the physical therapy offered at his clinic. Within a couple of weeks I had my full strength back as well as my range of motion. I'm now working on improving my leg strength.
