    Bigs Tree Service LLC
Very professional and Pleasant to work with! Luke (the owner) has new equipment and was able to get all three of the large Oak Trees on the ground, chipped and cut into 16" rounds in one day! I would, and will use his services again. The charges for the services rendered were more than fair! We are very happy.

So very impressed with the whole crew. Amazing professional service. They were all exceptional at their jobs. Clean up was impressive also, place looked better after they left than before. Will hire this team when we need more trees trimmed.

    River Rock
Julio was able to give me a well-priced estimate immediately and was available to start right away (other companies couldnt schedule the job for about two months). He was efficient and very professional. He took care of the debris that didnt fit into my yard debris waste container. It took two days and he had to ask a friend to help him, but he did not raise the price. He pulled weeds, cleaned up a debris pile left over from the previous owners, prunes all of my trees, cleaned the gardening beds, and mulched my entire yard. His estimate of how much mulch I needed to buy was perfect; no mulch wasted and no second trip needed. I liked his work so much, I hired him to do landscape maintenance from then on.

Julio is a consummate professional. His work is always top-notch quality, and he is extremely hardworking. He listens carefully to our ideas and then adds his suggestions which always improve the project. His rates are very reasonable. I would recommend him without hesitation!

    Buena Vista Arbor Care
Buena Vista Arbor Care was timely ..they come out before hand and give an estimate and set up a time for the project..they came this time with 2 guys..a chipper truck and a bucket truck..they were very mindful of the surrounding bushes and landscaping near by..they did an excellent job!

    Straub Landscape, LLC
I hired Straub to do routine yard maintenance twice a month. Their rate of $52 for each person-hour ($104 for the two guys scheduled) seemed really high for maintenance, but I wanted to see what working with them was like. At the time, I was considering them for a large landscape project redoing my whole yard. Their two guys showed up and spent the entire hour with the leaf blower on, blowing leaves around the yard (they did eventually pick them up to haul off). There was no weeding done, no trimming, nothing that would be of real value.
When I asked the guys on one of the visits to trim some blackberry vines in the front of my property (which they had not bothered to walk down to), they did it with poor grace and frowns on their faces, as if I were asking for too much.
It did not take long to figure out this was not the contractor I wanted to work with on any big project, so I informed the owner their services were not required any longer. He sent me back an email with the basic message "you can't fire me because I'm firing you." I have worked with contractors of various types for decades, and in various cities, but had never seen anything this angry or unprofessional before. His email ended with "are relationship is done." (misspelling his)
Straub did not bill me for 3 months after their services were done. I put this down to remorse. Perhaps the owner realized his services were way overpriced and low value, or maybe he realized his email was totally unprofessional. No, neither, it was just administrative incompetence. Eventually they sent it.

    Mower Repair Guy
My lawn mower was cutting out and I called this guy because he comes to your house to pick up the lawn mower and I am almost 70 so that sounded like a good deal.  The bill was 81.87 and I paid 70.00 and said I would mail a check for the rest when he dropped it back off 2 weeks later.  Had lawn mower 2 days and it kept cutting out just like it did before I had him fix it. I called and told him it still wasn't working.   He came back and picked it up and had it for 3 weeks and I finally had to call him, and he said oh yeah, I couldn't find anything wrong with it.  I said I would come get it before 5 but couldn't make it because my daughter in law had to go the  hospital on an emergency basis (I can prove this!!)  so I called him but he didn't answer.  The next day I call him and say I will come and get it.  I go to the shop and he is not there but the person in the shop tells me that the repair man says I owe for the missed appointment!!  He had him on the phone so I talked to him and he said I could not pick up the mower without paying 30 dollars for a missed appointment!!   His behavior was totally unprofessional (I called both other shops in town and they said they would never charge for a missed appointment).  He was rude, belligerent and I would never ever go to him again and based on the condition of the mower, he is also incompetent.  He will not return my mower without me giving him an extra 30 dollars for not picking it up the day before.  I asked him to either give me my 70 dollars back or return my lawn mower and he will not.  I called other mower repair folks and they said they never charge over 65 for the same service.
NOW, here is the clincher:  his website advertises thus:  "Let's face it: getting your mower to the repair shop all by yourself
isn't fun. That's why Mower Repair Guy comes to you. No more jerry-rigging lawn tractors into sedans. No more lifting heavy mowers into your truck. Relax. We'll come to you."
Yet he wants to charge me for not coming to him!!!!  Read his web page:
    He says
"We repair small engines and power equipment such as mowers, tillers, blowers, trimmers, and the like. We are a mobile service so we come to you!"
AND MORE:  "We take a personal interest in seeing your needs serviced through to the end. You won't hear "We don't carry that" or "Sorry, we can't help you." We go out of our way to make sure you walk away satisfied."  He certainly has not gone out of his way (Derek Cropp) to help me!
Apparently I am out 70 dollars because I will not pay 30 dollars for a missed appointment when he is supposed to do the delivery.
It is hard to answer all of your questions because it was weeks before I got it back and the work was not done at my home and I did not take it to the provider's location, initially he came to my house.

He called right away to set up something.  We were flexible and he said that he could come out a few hours at a time over the next week or schedule the whole thing at a future time.  We agreed that part time over a few days was fine and he gave us a great deal of $1,000 for 70 stumps or about $14/stump.  We found a baby bird's nest and ask him to leave one stump.  I worried he'd forget or something, but he didn't and worked around the baby birds.  We were thrilled with the price and he did a very good job.

    Griffin's Quality Tree Service
Everything went pretty smoothly with Griffin Quality Tree. They are a great value and very hardworking. A 4 man crew worked 12 straight hours to finish our project in one day. We would use them again in a second!

    Dunn & Co Tree Services
I like the way the work was carried out. I wanted to use someone local
and capable, and Bill Dunn came and made the estimate and later came
with another man to do the work, which was done capably.
    Cleanup was good.
But Dunn and Co is very bad at returning phone calls, so it took time to get all this organized. I have called three times for work to be done currently, but get no response, even though I asked them to let me know if they were not available.
I gave them a B grade on responsiveness, because Bill Dunn did respond in terms of work to what I wanted done, but on returning calls they should get an F. That reduced the professionalism grade as well.
I was ready to use them again, but now I guess I won't.
