Well, after searching 6 other places, that were all booked solid for at least a week or longer, I found them on the Internet! Took rosco in and even for them being as busy as they were, they took him in. Not only did they make the time on 1 day short notice to take care of my dog, they did an absolutely amazing job on him. The girls there were extremely friendly and very social. For a business that was super busy, they finished my dog up in a timely fashion. Thank you girls for being so kind and friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to get their fur babies done up nice! I can't thank them enough and I truly believe they deserve a raise. They definitely will have my business from here on out!

    BANFIELD THE PET HOSPITAL
We started taking my disabled wife's Service Dog, a 6-year neutered male German Shepherd, to this vet clinic when we moved to Wilsonville in September 2010.  After the move, he developed severe skin and eye conditions that this vet was never able to correctly diagnose.  In the process of trying to figure it out, she performed multiple diagnostic procedures - some more than once - that never seemed to tell us anything significant.  We purchased the wellness plan from Banfield based on assurances that this would lower our treatment costs - it is true that the invoices always showed a discount, but the base price was so high, compared to other vets in the area, that the amount we paid was well above what we would have paid another vet.  We always had to leave our dog at the clinic, he was never treated in our presence, and we always got a big bill, even when we were only at the clinic for a follow-up visit.  Our dog was given large doses of multiple medications, but there was never any significant improvement in his conditions until the Banfield vet put him on a long-term daily dose of Prednisone, which did suppress most of his symptoms.  When we researched the Prednisone, we found out that long-term use is dangerous and not recommended, particularly in large doses.  Among the negative effects of such use is the development of Cushing's disease symptoms, which our dog was displaying - no mention of that was ever made by the Banfield vet.

In June 2011, we were referred to a different vet by a local friend - the new vet correctly diagnosed our dog on the first visit.  He took some scrapings from various places and tested them on-site - that was the only diagnostic test he performed or recommended.  We were in a large exam room with our dog the whole time, and the vet spent most of the exam time on the clean floor with our dog.  He immediately had us start tapering off the Prednisone after explaining what it was doing to our dog.  He then went on to explain the proper use of Prednisone, which matched what we had learned from our own research.  He gave us some treatment options to try once the Prednisone was out of our dog's system, and he referred us to a veterinary ophthalmologist to address the eye issues.

In the one and only visit to the ophthalmologist, a clear explanation of the causes behind the dog's conditions was given to us, and a course of treatment prescribed that has completely eliminated all eye symptoms - the total bill for the specialist was $170, including a 3-month supply of the non-steroidal topical medication we are now applying to the dog's eyes.

We have been to see the new primary care vet 4 times since June, and our dog is getting healthier and happier all the time.  We have spent just over $500 on all vet bills since we changed, and we have great results to show for it.  We spent over $2500 with Banfield between October 2010 and June 2011, and our dog got continuously worse.
