    Great! Carol talked me through what might work. There were chirps from the detachable disk and also from (what I thought) was the component in the wall. Even with a brand new battery. She mentioned that older, unused components are still part of the system. And sure enough, I had forgotten I had 2 older detachable disks in a nearby drawer. I hadn���t used them in several years. So after drained all the energy from all of the disks by holding down the red button next to the battery lid, all the chirping ceased. And all on the phone, with no service call necessary. 110%.

    This is the company of the hardware we use for home security. It's on-going, and works very well with notifications when doors and windows are opened. The grandkids think it's fun that the wall unit talks. The cameras are easily viewed remotely. When they send notices of power outages, we know they are paying attention, via the cell connection. The equipment also handles the house heating, and can be set-up to deal with lighting and other home automation.

    Quadrant Systems
    We just purchased a new home and called this company to reset the alarm. They schedules 10 days later. The day of the appointment they called to cancel and postpone for one week. I explained that my house was empty and waiting for their service. They told me that I don't have preference because I didn't signed a 3 years contract. This is disappointing because that was my intent. They made me feel that customer doesn't count and they don't care about new clients. Maybe my foreign accent made the owner treat me that way.

    Omnigaurd provided impressive service and an innovative and user-friendly product.  The technicians we worked with (Will and Mark) were delightful, professional and very responsive to our needs and our questions.  They provided a thorough estimate that was very reasonable compared with what other companies were offering-- and their product is far smarter and advanced than others we considered.  We are appreciative for their refreshing approach to home security!

    I rented a single family home in 2011 already equiped with an ADT home security system.  Since I was renting, ADT would not accept me as a customer and referred me to LifeShield.  Lifeshield required a three-year contract, which was fine with me at the time since I planned to remain in the home for at least three years.  After my experience dealing with ADT, the idea of a self-installed system was appealing.  However, I am now moving to a home with a complete security system already installed and called LifeShield customer service about termination fees.  After a long period on hold (common with this company) the rep said I essentially have to buy out the remainder of the contract or make an arrangement with the new tenant.  No complaints, I new this going into the contract.  However, this is the last time I enter into any long-term contract with an alarm company. 
    The few alarms I experienced were handled well by the monitoring company (contracted by Lifeshield).  On several occassions I purchased additional equipment, i.e. window sensors, motion sensors, wireless keychains, extra batteries, etc.  Two new window sensors failed immediately but were replaced by calling customer service.  Both failed again later, as did the wireless keychains.  Customer service referred me to a phone number to contact to troubleshoot the sensors.  It was difficult to connect; long phone tree (push 1 for this, 2 for that, etc.); kept on hold forever; ran out of time to wait on hold.  I eventually just bought new sensors and replaced the wireless keychains.  I did try replacing the batteries on the sensors and keychains twice without success.  The extra batteries I order from LifeShield were clearly on the shelf too long.  They failed almost immediately so I bought replacements from a local battery store.  I may try customer service again if I have an hour to kill.
    Lesson learned: go local.  There are several reputable local alarm companies in the area, with high ratings on Angie's List, which do not require long-term contracts; locally owned and operated.  Deciding now whether to just buy out the contract and move on, or install the LifeShield system in the new home.  Leaning toward the buy out.  My contact with customer service did nothing to convince me to remain with the company.

    have been using Mastertech since 1987 - in 4 homes sequentially.  They are always responsive.  They installed systems in 3 of the 4 homes, and upgraded the system in my last home.  I am waiting for my new home to close so that I can have them come out and install a system in that home as well.  In the old days, they did mostly wired installations, but now wireless make it so much easier and less expensive to have a system installed.  Brian, the technician, is always available, not only to do repairs and upgrades, but to answer technical questions. Once you are their client, they won't increase your monthly monitoring fee.  If you are having work done at your home, they will put it in test mode for however long you need so that you won't get false alarms. I couldn't be happier.  
    I told Brian that I never used the "away" mode because of false alarms triggered by the infrareds that came with the house. He upgraded the infrared sensors to eliminate false alarms. The newer infrareds won't be triggered even by most indoor pets. Problem solved.

    We talked with several companies over the phone and had 2 come out to the house. Several of the companies we talked with either put us through the ringer just to get any kind of pricing whatsoever, or were quite frankly very unprofessional. One of the companies that came out was Noah with omniguard and another national company. Let's just say that after meeting with the two companies, there was no comparison! Noah was so polite and professional, low pressure and informative that it was a very short meeting with the next company before we knew which direction we wanted to go. It didn't hurt any that the products that omniguard provides were not only about half the price, but also seemed to be much more feature rich, easy to use and more advanced in regards to the actual protection the system provides. Having the ability to arm and disarm from my iphone is such a nice feature! You have to talk with Noah to go over all the other features that this system has as it would take me all night to write them out. Make sure not to go with an already outdated land line based system that is hard to use and not that secure, go with Noah and Omniguard! You won't regret it!

    The system, once installed, never worked correctly. After months of constant beeping and false alarms and resultant calls to ADT and Protect Your Home, ADT sent out a technician who said the Protect Your Home technician who initially installed the system had not done it correctly. The wireless system they installed had NEVER been protecting us, as it turned out.  When asked about a refund for the services for which I had already been billed, the rude ADT technician told me to call the billing department.  No luck there either.

    December 2012, almost a year after installation, a Protect Your Home rep called me in response to a formal complaint letter I had sent to ADT and Protect Your Home, and told me ADT would be refunding my installation fees and monthly fees due to the fact that the service had never worked for us. She initiated a three-way call with an ADT rep who confirmed that I would be receiving a refund within two weeks. That money never arrived.

    To add insult to injury, I have now received a collection notice with a past due amount of over $900!  Absolutely unbelievable. I am being double-charged for services I never received and as a result of ADT's utter customer service ineptitude, my credit rating is being affected.

    We all need to be wary of companies like ADT who prey on home owners security fears but whom are, in reality, part of the problem rather than the solution.

    My experience with ADT Security has been, hands down, my worst customer service experience ever.
