  • Appt was for 3:50 pm.  It was 4:10 when taken back to exam room.  Didn't like top cover, wasn't sure how it worked other than it opened in front, and felt rather exposed.  Sat in exam room, on table, waiting til 4:40.  Dr. and Nurse came in, Dr. in street clothes and NO white coat, very unprofessional.  Did not wash hands before doing breast exam.  Didn't wash hands at all in my presence  Dr. seemed distracted.  Had not looked at drug and supplement list, or labs I had provided.  Started asking about drugs I wasn't using--indeed one I had discontinued due to allergic reaction 4 years before and another he had taken me off of 3 years ago.  Just kinda got the idea he was thinking of another patient not me.  Nurse had to remind him that he had all that information in the packet in his hands.  Made me feel real uncomfortable....  If I go back and see him again I will bring my own gown for breast exam!

  • Had an emergency and was over an hour behind. If I didn't like him so well as my gyn I'd find someone else. He is so gentle with the exam and he ALWAYS tells me what he is going to do BEFORE he does it. Other than the time issue, I have no complaints since he moved to a new office.

  • When I got the bill, my insurance company denied paying for a Wellness visit because the visit was coded for the item that we discussed. I feel like she specifically told me that I didn't need an exam, after I had an exam, so that High Lakes could charge me for something else. When I discussed it with their billing department, they said that it would be illegal to change the code in the file. I'm not trying to do anything illegal. If they were going to charge me for discussing something with her, why wouldn't she tell me at the time of the appointment? Especially when she did the exam and then told me to go to a specialist if I had questions. It cost me $300 out of pocket to ask the doctor about something. And the wellness part isn't covered at all because it wasn't in the code. If High Lakes is going to hold you, the person paying the bill, responsible for what the code in the chart is, there must be some legal responsibility to share that information with you at the time of the appointment. Once it was after the fact, they basically said "too bad, we can't change the code". I spoke with 2 different people in the billing department, after asking for a manager to discuss it with. The manager was very rude and was NOT going to discuss it with me - code is code and that is that.

  • She did the exam. However, when I got the bill, my insurance company denied paying for a Wellness visit because the visit was coded for the item that we discussed. I feel like she specifically told me that I didn't need an exam, after I had an exam, so that she could charge me for something else. I'm not really sure what is going on here. When I discussed it with their billing department, they said that it would be illegal to change the code in the file. I'm not trying to do anything illegal. If she were going to charge me for the discussing something with her, why wouldn't she tell me at the time of the appointment? It cost me $300 out of pocket to talk to the doctor about something. And the wellness part isn't covered at all because it wasn't in the code. To boot, she didn't help me at all with the issue, she basically brushed it off as normal. I honestly felt like she was rolling her eyes at me.

  • Arrived for appt. 15 minutes early, as requested. Dr. was late. After changing into gown and drape waited some more. Not sure how long as I brought a book to read although his Nurse Debbie stopped in 2 times to make sure I was ok and to let me know that "Dr. was taking way too long with an OB patient", her words. Other than being cold I was fine and told Debbie that as long as he hadn't left the building I was fine for her not worry. When he did come in he was his usual warm, friendly, gentle self. He did tell me, after we discussed issues of several appt. tries, that he would try to do better next year and that he won't be taking on as many OB patients next year. (Good luck there) For the most part he is worth the wait and trouble...so far. I've been seeing him as my GYN since December 2008.
