Solar Panel Installation reviews in Hillsboro

It was a smooth experience and the team was extremely professional. Thomas Farringer was our first consultant and he went over our existing energy bills and performed our site evaluation as well as explaining the benefits of going solar.  He continues to keep in touch and if we have any questions, he is always willing to help.  All our paperwork was completed in a timely manner and the team was easily accessible via phone and email. Overall, a great experience.

Mr. Sun Solar did a very nice job.  They removed our hot water solar panels, we got a new roof, then they reinstalled the panels.  They were accommodating in their scheduling and did an excellent job.  The suggestions they made to replace our holding tank at that time was a good one.  They had to cut and solder in new pipes, and did a very nice job on the soldering - it looks really nice and clean.  The pump was also replaced.  They went through how the new pump works and how to maintain the system.  I would highly recommend them to anyone.

John came by to give me an estimate for solar panels and installation. He looked at the electrical panels, we have 3, and then looked at an electrical box that connects all the panels. When opening the box John opened it incorrectly and touched the metal panel door to a hot circuit. A huge spark happened followed by smoke and there are now burn marks inside of the box as well as on one of the circuits. John assured me there must be something wrong with the box and I need to have PGE look at it. After he left I called PGE, they came out and said the box is in order and John just didn't know what he was doing. I never heard from John after that. No estimate was sent to me, nothing. I do not recommend Mr. Sun Solar.

Once we signed the contract, Solar World basically took care of everything. The up front approvals took about 3 weeks, the installation 3 days, and the after installation approvals 1 week. This included getting the Energy Trust up front cash incentive, permits, co-ordination with the roofing company, city inspections, PGE approval and meter installation, and the Energy Trust inspection.
We turned on the panels 4 weeks after signing the contract and on sunny days, we are generating 3 times our daily usage. We are able to bank the excess with PGE for 1 year to help offset our bigger winter usage and the lack of sun.
Syncro Solar provided excellent on site instruction, great documentation, and completed the tax credit forms for us - with stamps and an envelope. The work crew and office staff were knowledgeable and responsive.
There might be companies that offer a better price - but even if so, we would still gladly pay more to get the best.

    Synchro Solar
From the beginning, the Synchro Solar team was professional, personable, and quickly responsive to our every question.  Randy met with us and after surveying the orientation of our roof, showed us what might be possible for the installation.  He answered every question, explained every detail, and really cared about our customer satisfaction.  We had a concern about the installation because the roof where the panels needed to be installed was on the front of our house and highly visible as anyone entered our community.  Right away, Randy suggested dark panels that would blend in with out dark gray roof.  (They look incredible, by the way!)
Jennifer was fastidious in taking care of every detail of scheduling and paperwork, and Sarah helped walk us through the installation.
All aspects of the process were fully explained and taken care of.  They helped us submit the appropriate paperwork to our HOA, took care of all the city permits, and did almost every bit of the paperwork for the tax incentives.  They made a process that could be very complicated very easy, by lending their professional experience and excellent customer service to the project.
Jennifer was great in outlining the time line of the project and which inspections and tasks needed to happen when.  We were very enthusiastic about getting the project going and the team at Synchro Solar worked with us to make the schedule work best for us.  They even got things together to get the installation done a few days earlier than originally scheduled so that it would coincide with a day I already had off from work.  The work was done on time, on budget, and exactly as promised.
Part of our installation included an online monitoring system, so that we could see each day exactly how many kWh (kilowatt hours) our panels were producing.  This aspect of the installation has been very useful as we are able to track our energy production, and read our meter to see how much energy we are using from/selling back to the grid.  As with everything else, Sarah showed us exactly how to read all of the information.
Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our experience with Synchro Solar and would recommend them to family and friends without hesitation.  They are a team of dedicated, knowledgeable, friendly, and customer-oriented individuals.  There was never a lack of communication, and never a lag in returning calls or emails.  They were, in short, amazing.

    SolarCity
I first heard of Solar City from an article in our newspaper, The Oregonian. Solar City also is setup in our local Home Depot. My brother took the plunge first and as soon as his panels were up and running and he gave me the thumbs up, we took the plunge too. We called the local sales rep, Omri. Omri set up an appointment and came to our house within a day. He looked around the house, poked his head in the attic, and did some calculations, then provided us a preliminary proposal on the spot. The numbers were amazing - with the State of Oregon tax credits, this thing was a no brainer - so we signed the contract. Omri was professional, polite, friendly, and knowledgeable, and I never once felt pressured to move forward. It really felt like he was partnering with us to ensure this was the right thing for us.

We were told to expect the whole process start to finish to take up to 3 months. But less than a month later, the engineering team paid a visit, doing a very detailed analysis of our roof: the direction it faced, the slope, the condition, the load-bearing capabilities, etc., and they checked the house's electrical system. We were told again to expect to wait up to a couple of weeks for the final engineering report and designs, but just a couple of days later we had them via email. We looked them over, confirmed it was almost exactly what Omri's initial proposal indicated, and we confirmed to move forward.

Again, we were told permitting could take some time, which was the usual cause for delay in the final installation step. However, I was pleasantly surprised when less than a month later it was time to install the panels. The install team came out, introduced themselves, explained everything they were going to do, then proceeded to do exactly what they said. They took plenty of time to answer my questions (I must have been a bit annoying with all my questions, but my engineer's brain just couldn't resist). They asked me where I wanted the inverter, where I wanted the the conduit run, etc. - very considerate compared with many contractors (I am thinking of cable guys and phone guys who just seem to always do whatever is easiest).

Due to the many rebates, tax credits, and building permits, there have been at least three different inspections done so far and every inspector said everything looked first rate.

We have been VERY pleased with the process every step of the way. I would use them again in a heartbeat, and have already recommended them to AT LEAST 15 of my friends and family.

JEFF CROPP, GENERAL MANAGER OF MR. SUN SOLAR WAS MOST HELPFUL IN GUIDING US THROUGH THE MAZE OF PAPERWORK TO COORDINATE WITH PGE AND ENERGY TRUST OF OREGON TO MAKE THE SOLAR POWER GENERATING SYSTEM A REALITY. THE INSTALLERS OF THE SYSTEM WERE EFFICIENT AND PROFESSIONAL. THERE WAS A SYSTEM OVERLOAD PROBLEM DURING INSTALLATION THAT WAS CORRECTED. A NEW INVERTER INSTALLED WITHOUT HESITATION.
