    Adrian's Quality Fencing & Decks
The job went very well. The owner bid the job himself. The job is the Deckorators brand of composite decking with aluminum rails around the deck. He answered every question. We worked out the details and signed an agreement. They are pretty busy, so it was over a month after signing before they could start. Once they started, they were here every day until it was done. It was a week from start to finish. The work: Two very friendly guys did the work. It was obvious that they cared about getting it done right. Everything was measured, bubble-balanced and checked to be sure it fit right. They put in the extra effort to do this deck like it was for their own home. I would recommend these guys to anyone.

    Western Paver Design LLC
Simply put....The most amazing contractors and service I have dealt with in my life. In my experience and all the companies I have come in contact with from building houses, renovating and upscaling, Western Paver Design is by a long shot Portlands best. Take my word for it...They exude the term detailed oriented and the absolute definition of precision. They go above and beyond and all along the way communicate through the whole build. It was an absolute pleasure to meet them all and know that anything in the future for us will be worked on by them.:))))) Thank you again team, for making our dreams come true.

    Three Rivers Custom Decks
The entire process was excellent. Jim Gates came to give us an estimate for the removal of our existing second story deck and the design and replacement with a new deck. He had a couple of ideas for changing the configuration which was very helpful. We promptly received an estimate from him which we compared to three other vendors. Sent each of them a few questions for clarification. Jim responded in a timely manner and included 8 pages of references. One vendor never replied. The old deck was wood, at least 30 years old, and rotting. We had decided to replace the deck with composite material. My husband had done a lot of research but I did not know anything about the product. We took a trip to Conrad Lumber Company where they had "decks" set up on their lot made up of the material we were going to use. The first person to help us showed me the difference in the various brands of composite material. I told her which one we had selected (TimberTech) and which colors we had chosen (Tigerwood with Mocha picture frame). She took me out to one of the decks which was set up with that product and the same colors. I got a chance to walk on the deck barefooted. When I told her who our contractor was she told us she knew him very well and they supplied his decking material. In fact, she raved about what a great guy Jim was. We talked to a couple of other folks inside and they also knew Jim personally. It confirmed our thoughts that Jim was the contractor we wanted. Next step was to have an engineer come out to develop the plans to needed to be submitted to the county for approval. Again, quick response from the engineer and he gave us some history of the company. Plans were submitted in a timely manner and he kept us updated on the progress with the county. Work started a couple of weeks after the county had approved the plans. The first day the crew was a bit late getting started because of the icy roads. But they called and let us know they were waiting about a mile away until the roads cleared a bit. Our main crew was 3 guys - Chris, Matt and Justin. Others were brought in as needed and included Dave and Mike. Another Matt was the project leader and checked in on progress or issues as needed. The only issue we encountered was a missing piece of railing which was delivered without holding up any work. Along one end of the deck, we requested a privacy screen be built. We did not give the crew or Jim a lot of details, just basics of what we wanted. It came out beautiful. We are very impressed. My husband also requested a ramp at one end of the deck so we could easily pull the firewood cart up on to the deck. Again, some basics were provided and they ramp was completed. It works great - much easier than the step that was there before. The work was scheduled to be completed in 2 to 3 weeks. It took closer to 4 weeks but it was done over Christmas and New Years so that was to be expected. All of the folks who did the work and the folks from Conrad Lumber were professional, courteous, and respectful of our property. Clean up work was excellent. The deck looks amazing!! We could not be happier with the outcome of all aspects of the work. A great big thank you to everyone who was involved!!!

    Forest Landscape Inc
I was given the task of helping my 70 year old mother with remodeling her backyard on a grand scale. I met with several contractors and the people at Forest Landscape were the ones I felt the best connection with. We were off to a great start! They provided us the most competitive estimate for our landscape remodel. But it wasn't just the price is was the knowing they would listen and understand our needs. Others just couldn't get that done. Forest Landscape didn't want this to be their vision of the space, they wanted it to be hers. They really put you at ease through the entire project. The estimate was easy to comprehend with outlined costs in parts, making decisions quicker. The entire crew helped to ensure things not only looked beautiful but functioned properly. We have yard that slopes towards our home and drainage was a big concern. From the moment they started until completion the crew worked very efficiently on site and checked in to make sure she/I were happy with the outcomes. It was truly amazing to see how they transformed the baron yard into a tranquil forested landscape complete with a dry river bed. As the plantings grow they will only look more beautiful in time as she sits under the new covered pergola on her patio extension in her rocking chair. They created gravel pathways that are functional and tidy for her to walk around. They really know how to work with what you have and implement what you don't have (like a french drain that functions-thanks guys!). Thank you especially to Jose, Rigo and Aldo. You got me through this without feeling stressed (especially about how many trees can fit in a yard- haha!) and each of you took time to make sure the she was happy. I recommend them know matter the scope, big or small or in between they are efficient, effective and you won't find nicer professionals to work with. I posted photos, but they its so much better when you are in it!

    Cowles Custom Remodel LLC
Dohn was great to work with. There were a few delays due to special order siding and employees not showing up but all in all the project turned out great. We did spend more than anticipated as a result of hourly charges for the dry rot and siding repair/replacement but figured if we were going to fix the exterior it needed to be done right. It looks like a totally different house with many compliments from passersby.

    System Pavers
Jeremys crew did a great job with dismantling our 30-year-old wood deck and placing pavers for a new patio in just two days. My Husband and I were very happy with the results. We were puzzled with the amount of pavers left over, a pallet and a half. Nevertheless, Jeremy assured us we only pay for the square footage of the patio. He said we could keep the remaining pavers if we want to. We plan to keep a half a pallet to do some finishing touches around the new garden area.

    Portland Deck Refinishing
Chad came out about two weeks after I contacted him (as he said he would). He was on time and pressure washed the deck. A couple of days later he came out and sanded and stained the deck; again he was on time. A day later when I looked at the deck it was blotchy and there were places where the stain hadn't taken. I called Chad and he agreed to come out to fix it. We had some discussions about whether the deck was sanded properly. The next rain free day he came out and put another coat of stain on the deck. He followed through on his promise of a good job. The deck now looks great. Anybody can do a good job if it's easy. It takes a pro to get stuff done when there are problems.
