    Emergency Dental
It was late on a Friday afternoon and a quick Google search found a couple of Emergency Dentists in our area since our dentist was unavailable.

It went well, at first.  In fact, I was in and out and paid what they asked in short order.  There was a remaining $143.00 balance to which they were going to apply to our insurance.  All standard.

Then the trouble came:  Thecollection agency - We never heard a word from them UNTIL Monday February 9, 2015 when we got a call from a collection agency.  Which was a surprise to say the least.  So we contacted the dentist?s office to address this directly.  We were told ?sorry, you need to deal with the collection agency?.  A bit perturbed, however things can fall through the cracks, so we gathered all our documentation and went back to the dentist?s office and asked for an explanation of what their protocol was and how they saw things, so maybe we could work out what went wrong.

Their explanation - We were told that in early September that our insurance company had paid their part and they promptly sent us a bill for the remaining $93.80 (which I?m sure you can gather by now we did not get).  Then they followed up with a message to my cell phone.  After that they sent it to collections.

My commentary - I?m not much of an expert in bills collections, but it?s my understanding that if you can?t collect on a debt you sell that debt to a collection agency for pennies on the dollar.  But that?s after you have tried to collect, say 30-60-90days, sometimes even 120.

My research - I could not believe I missed a message, so I pulled up my Verizon cell phone bill and did a search for all incoming calls from September 1st to November 30th, I received no calls from them or any blocked or unknown numbers.

My conclusion ? We asked to speak to a manager, to no avail.  Which sadly leads me to believe someone in

billing may be trying to cover their error.  If I were the owner or manager, I'd want to understand why my company is losing out on revenue when someone is willing/happy to pay.

End result ? If you would like to get a collection added to your credit along with decent dental service, use these guys.

The quality of service really stands out. He and his whole team stand out. It is really a small clinic and it is a personal environment. They went back and review old records from other providers and really do great.

    Orazio, Dr. Thomas
Everything went well and the people I came in contact with were nice and friendly.I do hope to complete the treatment they recommended for me but cannot right away cause it cost over $2,000 and the office does not have a payment plan option. I like that they do a comprehensive look at why you are having pain instead of just looking at the teeth they look at the entire chewing system like jaw joints and muscles. I have seen a lot of dentist that have not been able to help me because they only look at the teeth, I am really hoping I can get some relief once I am able to start treatment.  I felt the time with Dr. Orazio was a little rushed and not everything I needed looked at was addressed like I hoped it would be but besides that everything went well.

The office was able to fit a new patient in and treat my immediate issues right away.  I have since had followup treatment and I plan to continue seeing the dentists at this office.  All of the staff are kind, friendly, helpful and went out of their way for me. Recommended heartily.

    Campbell, Dr. R. Claire
I would like to start off by saying that Dr. Campbell (Claire) and her staff are genuinely campassionate professionals who made the unpleasant experience of having extensive dental work done as painless as possible. The dental office itself was immaculate and nicely decorated. They had several parking spaces reserved for patients. My first encounter was with her hygenist Angelina who is a really sweet person who worked quickly and efficiently. She noticed right away that I tend to gag a lot when things are put in my mouth, and, in addition to constantly checking to make sure I was o.k., she was careful to give me plenty of time to catch my breath as well as giving me rinse water and the suction tube very frequently. Claire came in during the cleaning to evaluate the x-rays and perform her exam. She is obviously very good at what she does, and I felt that she did an excellent job of explaining things to me when she made her recommendation for the crowns, the fillings and the root canal. I hadn't been to a dentist for several years and somewhat expected to be chastized, but she understood the situation without being critical or judgmental. (A previous Angie's List reviewer who was mad at Dr. Campbell because she wouldn't work on her without an exam and x-rays said something about Claire being "elitist". This 180 degrees opposite of my experience with her and her staff because they all seemed very down to earth, pleasant and good humored. My impression of Claire is that she is extremely dedicated to practicing within the standard of care, and performing work on a patient without a proper exam and x-rays is something she would refuse to do because it's like flying an airplane into clouds without navigation instruments.) Before any work could be done I needed to have a root canal. Claire referred me to a nearby endodontist who did excellent thorough work, and I was pleased with the referral. The first step in doing the crowns was to prep the teeth and make impressions so the custom porceline crowns could be made at a lab. Temporary crowns were placed while the permanents were made, a process that takes about two weeks. During the crown prep, Claire's assistant Melanie (or it might be Melissa...sorry, I am horrible with names) was top notch and very attentive to every possible thing that could be uncomfortable for me, and she checked in with me constantly. Claire herself was also very good at checking in with me and did a good job of warning me if something might be uncomfortable or taste bad. I felt that Claire and her staff were genuinely concerned about my experience and did everything within their power to make the extensive work as comfortable as possible. Everything was explained to me in detail before it happened and there were no unpleasant surprises. I have had the crowns for about 5 days now and everything is perfect. Claire did two fillings as well and I don't even notice them. I paid for everything with a check because I don't have dental insurance and they gave a 5% discount because I paid in full. (Note they don't give the 5% off if you pay with a debit card or credit card, it has to be cash or check). I plan on continuing to see Claire and her staff as my dental professionals in the future, and I was extremely satisfied with my experience at their office.

    Dowsett, Dr. David J
He is honest! We were in need of someone new because our dental plan changed. An old dentist of ours, tried to rip us off, and wanted to put 13 fillings in my son. This was deemed as unnecessary work by Dr. Dowsett. He explains everything well, and he'll give you time to answer your questions. He'll give you time to make a decision, won't pressure you into anything, and gives you all your options.

    82nd Drive Dental Clinic
Bryan Carpenter was great and so was his staff. It's a very relaxed
environment. Bryan replaced a filling at a second appointment and did a
great job. Probably the best dentist I've ever been to. He communicated
everything very well. Answered all of my questions. He wasn't in a rush
to get me out of there. I highly recommend.

    Campbell, Dr. R. Claire
I had a great experience at Dr. Campbell's office.  The staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and compassionate.  I have been to many offices that rush to get patients in and out quickly without explaining anything to me or  barely speaking to me and this wasn't the case with Dr. Campbell's office.  Dr. Campbell was very patient and thorough in explaining my treatment, showing me photos of what was wrong with my tooth and answering all my questions.   I appreciated her honesty and her compassion.  I really liked that her office has a family-like atmosphere that makes me feel very comfortable and my tooth has not given me any problems.
