Garage Building reviews in Gresham

    TUFF SHED INC - Portland
Things didn't start out too well when the salesman sent the construction crew to the wrong address. I was very impressed with how the crew organized, each person had a job and stayed out of the others way. They had the shed up in 6 hours. The quality was very good except for the roofing installation. The courses weren't straight and the eave trim was bent. on one side ( I have roofed several buildings and know a good roofing job) . The day they built the shed was warm and they wanted to quit early.

On 8/12/13 my credit card was charged $99.00 by Angies List for a Big Deal to have Convenant Construction reface a wall on a pump house, as the north wall had a serious rot problem. On 8/21/13 Steve (owner) & Shannon came out to bid on the repair. Later that day I received an emailed Estimate. On 8/23/13 I accepted and asked for a repair date. Several days later after receiving no response I called and left messages at the office and on Steve's cell phone asking for a confirmation on the repair date, I finally received an email on 08/31/13 from Shannon asking me if Friday, September 17th worked for me. I was out of town at the time and when I got back on 9/3/13 I emailed a request to please clarify the date as September 17th was actually a Tuesday. Having received no reply from Shannon I called Steve and left a voice mail on 9/5/13 asking for clarification for the repair date as I would need to meet them at the pump house to remove the padlock and allow them entry. Shannon called me back and advised that it would be Friday September 13, 2013. Steve and his employee arrived promptly and began the repair.
To our shock the inner walls of the pump house were so infested with ants that the job had to be stopped. I agreed to resolve the ant issue and would call Steve to reschedule. At this time he also found that 2 additional walls would need repairs and I asked him to re-bid to reface 3 of the 4 walls. For the next 5 days I bug bombed 3 times and sprayed the perimeter of the area of the pump house twice, to remove the infestation. I called early on 9/18/13 and spoke with Steve asking to be put back on the schedule.
On 9/19/13 8:30am I followed up with an email to Shannon advising her that I spoke with Steve and the ant issue had been resolved and I was asking to be put back on the schedule. On 9/20/13 I called Steve to advise him that I had not heard from
Shannon for the re-bid. I received a verbal bid and the job was rescheduled for 9/26/13. The workers showed promptly that morning at 8:30 am and advised that they would have it done by the end of the day. I went back later that day at dusk to find that the west wall now had been framed with a window (there were no windows in the pump house to begin with). I called and spoke with Steve early the next morning and he was perplexed as he also was aware that there should be no windows. After speaking with his employees he called me back, profusely apologizing, as they had told him that they were sure that there was a window in the west wall. Steve promptly rescheduled to have the west wall done over (without a window) on Saturday 9/28/13 which it was. I received the invoice (noting that they waived a fee for the extra trip due to the infestation, which I appreciated) and paid the bill promptly on 10/1/13.
Overall, even with the issues, (ants & window)  I was satisfied with the work, however I do think there should be more focus put on better communication by Covenant Construction with their customer as the lack of communication was a frustration for me.
