    TerraFirma Foundation Systems
We scheduled the work to start on February 28th.  No one showed up at the determined time.  After an hour of waiting, I call the TerraFirma office and they finally called back and said the team would be there within 30 minutes, which they were.  They originally said they would be done in 1 day, but it actually dragged out to 3 days as they had trouble getting through the pad. We also thought they were going to originally tie into the sump pump already installed for the sewage system.  After talking to them we discovered that we would have to installed a second sump pump to take care of the ground water from this system.  This cost an additional $1000. All three days the team were late arriving.  Overall, however, they did an excellent job.  It has been almost 2 years now and we have not had any problem with water getting into the basement.  We painted the room to blend in very well with the EverLast Finished wall system and it is practically undetectable.

The work went fairly well. I was told the workmen would arrive between 8:00am and 9:00am, but they didn't show up for at least another 30 minutes. I was told that I might want to go out for breakfast to avoid the jack hammer noise. I left for more than an hour only to find that they hadn't even started drilling when I got back. The drilling didn't really start until late in the afternoon and they said they had run into several problems. They also said it was going to take another day. Originally, I was told it should only take one day, so I had to call and reschedule the plumber and dry-waller for later that week. Actually, the work took until about 2pm of the 3rd day as they said they did not have the correct bolts. The two men were very nice and I didn't have any distrust of them, but it was just a little frustrating that it took so long. One other thing was that the plumber told me they couldn't attach the drain to the existing sump pump as was originally intended because the existing one pumped the sewage from the bathroom up to the city sewage connection. (I have a daylight basement style of house). I asked the workmen when they came and they agreed that that wasn't allowed. I then asked them to install another sump pump to handle the drain water. They agreed to do so, and the smart pump suggested added another $1025 to the price (Original price quoted as $2458.00). They handled that install flawlessly and I was very pleased with the result. Immediately after the work was complete we had over a week of hard rain, and I have not seen any water coming in, so I believe the system is working well. Overall, I am very happy with the result.
