AAce Handyman ServicesI worked with Mike H. on two projects and I could not be happier. Mike is extremely knowledgeable and does fantastic work. I've used other handyman services in the past and the work Mike did was vastly better. I cannot recommend Ace enough. When you call request the services of Mike.- Matt C.

ALet's RemodelOur family is thrilled with our new kitchen provided by Pavel and his team at Let’s Remodel. For years we’ve dreamed up improvements to the most central part of our home, but not until meeting Pavel and seeing other examples of his work did we feel the confidence to at last pull the trigger. Their approach was nothing short of spectacular from start to finish. The crew was always polite and considerate, and the proposed calendar was reliable throughout the entire project. We also very much appreciated the insight and expertise we received when deliberating aspects of design. The end result truly surpassed all of our expectations. We intend to enjoy this space for many years to come. Thanks to everyone at Let’s Remodel — you were a great team to work with!- Bettina G.

AMacadam Floor And DesignOur remodel required some serious tile choices. We found just what we wanted at Macadam Floor (who would have thought?). Katie Stilwater was just the right person to understand what we were after and led us to just the right choices and price points. She would follow up with me until I was completely at ease with the decisions. Both the shower and kitchen turned our perfectly. Thanks, Katie!- Rudy P.

ALet's RemodelThe website is easy to use and the office is nice and full of samples and ideas for your next project. I was on the fence about what colors and materials I wanted to use, Polina and staff helped me narrow down my choices. The construction staff showed up on time and promptly completed my project. Overall: Loved this power couple! The staff was professional, caring and helped me make the best decisions for my property.- Tanisha D.

ALet's Remodel"Let's remodel" did a complete kitchen remodel in our 40-year-old house. Originally we wanted to change only the kitchen but ended up also changing the floors in the whole first floor. We are pretty happy with the end result and the process. "Let's remodel" offers complete set of services including kitchen design, floorplans, 3D modeling that was really useful to visualize the final look. Gosh I spent a month picking the backsplash and ended up changing the pattern mid-project. Polina patiently listened to my ideas and changed the design showing me the renderings, I was happy that we shared the same view on how a new kitchen should look like. I picked mid-century style with split-color cabinets, and lots of storage space with space organizers inside most of cabinets. I spent a lot of time with Polina going through each cabinet idea and its kitchen function. Oh and it really helped that they have their own showroom which I and my husband visited several time to get an idea of how cabinets and finishes and tiles and all other stuff looks like in real life. Polina and Pavel (the contractor) set up a chat with us and promptly responded to my many questions during actual renovation. We gutted original kitchen down to studs ourselves to save a bit on cost, Pavel and his team were flexible to that. Pavel's team was excellent as we observed them during their work (we planned to travel during renovation but corona put an end to that plan). They kept the construction zone clean and tidy after each day Of course there were several change orders, mostly related to discoveries after demolition, within 5-10% of total budget. I'd say that "Let's remodel" bid would not be the cheapest one but they are honest people that won't nickel and dime you in the process and I think that is important, it gives you security. Also I learned that the material cost varies significantly like with backsplash tile. I picked the one I liked and it was like $47 per sq foot. After much haggling with my hubby we picked a really nice option that was half that. The kitchen was completed recently and I could not be happier with the way it turned out!- Olga K.

AR3J Residential ServicesRon was fantastic!! He made the kitchen of our dreams and did it within a month. We left for a month while the work was being done and Ron kept us updated with pictures, texts and phone calls. We totally trusted him and his workers with our home. We hope to have both our bathrooms done by Ron next- Carol F.

AALEX FREDDI CONSTRUCTION LLCAlex Freddi was prompt, courteous, helpful and informative. He asked great questions about the proposed project, his bid was thorough, and included helpful resources, enabling us to be more educated consumers. Although we did not ultimately hire Freddi Construction for our project, we admire their professionalism. I hope to hire them in the future!- Rebecca A.

AR3J Residential ServicesFrom Day One Ron was great to work with. He listened to (and heard) what we were aiming for in the project and understood the ‘look’ we were going for. He had great suggestions - was mindful of our budget and made the whole project easy. Our new bathroom is absolutely beautiful and EXACTLY what we were hoping it would be. We highly recommend Ron (R3J Residential Services) to anyone looking to remodel. 5 Stars. A+- Monica W.

APaul Cottle Construction LLCPaul’s crew did an excellent job remodeling our kitchen. This included removing the soffit, upgrading the electrical service, installing new cabinets, and installing some new appliances. We stayed with a similar layout for the kitchen. His main crew person, Mark, did 95 percent of the work and was highly skilled. This included demolition, preparing the space for the new kitchen, installing the cabinets, and putting in duct work for the new hood. He even unpacked all the cabinets after delivery. His attention to detail was impressive in all areas like ceiling texture, painting, backsplash tile, and trim/molding pieces. Mark will be able to figure out and resolve any issue your old house might present. New appliances were on our own to provide, and the contract clearly stated “owner supplied.” New cabinets were also on our own, and here Paul included an allowance. This allowance is an amount he will subtract from the final amount you owe. That’s nice when you get to the end of the project. Your cabinet estimate will come from the cabinet supplier/design company you go with. To give you an idea, in our small kitchen we spent $10,000 on cabinets from Parr. Paul coordinated the main construction, electricians, plumbers, and countertop installation. He even communicated with the cabinet supplier we ordered from. The project took a tad over 6 weeks which was about right for the work involved. Each day there was noticeable progress.- Neil C.

ABSC General Contractors IncBryan was great to work with. His pricing was within my budget and he was great about detailing all of the costs so I could make an informed decision. I had new bamboo flooring installed throughout the house and had the kitchen remodeled. Bryan was good about identifying any issues ahead of time. His communication was great and we ended up having limited and small change orders as a result. Great experience!- Matthew F.

FKevin seemed to be a credible and professional contractor, knowledgeable with similar projects. After couple of meetings he proposed a contract and after negotiating materials we signed a mutually agreed contract in good faith, charged us a $3000 down payment for permit with a promised schedule for few months later as he claimed his schedule is full till then. When calling him to check on status of the permit he informed us that he wants to backout of the contract as his team is not experienced with this type of project and that he doesn't want to damage our home, which was a complete surprise and in complete contrast to his initial repeated claims that he knows exactly to the smallest details how to handle the project construction phases. Dissapointed and after wasting all these long hours assesing and negotiating the terms plus loss off 2 months of opportinies to find another contractor, after consultation with family members we agreed to let Kevin return us the downpayment plus compensation. But his promises kept failing and the funds were not returned by the promised date. Then he started ignoring our calls and emails. Based on our experience we do not recommend Kevin or his services as this is turning into a scam day by day with unknown results possible CCB complain, up to legal. Be warned.

Dnot good- As you can see 8-9 thousand dollars just for a tub and shower pullout and install- salesman says possibility of discount?? didn't know? really?. perhaps we should have flopped?- the discount was available online. disingenuous? think about that-Salesperson offered to leave in the middle of the "process" Clearly my mistake in not taking him up on his offer. again. 8- 9 thousand dollars?? I guess if you knock on enough doors someone will say yes- product is beautiful. the sales process was far from it-I cut the salesperson off repeatedly. no question. THE PROBLEM WAS LOWES TOLD ME SOMEONE WOULD COME OUT AND SELL ME ANY PRODUCT THAT LOWES HAD- WE SPENT SEVERAL HOURS RESEARCHING THE PRODUCTS LOWES HAD- The whole process was a waste. WHY WOULD LOWES TELL ME SOMEBODY WOULD DO SOMETHING THAT THEY DONT DO ?????

FComplete fail/unreliable/untrustworthy/awful experience. Ryan failed to open permits with City of Portland twice. He requested immediate payment for his time spent trying to obtain permits. At this point he pretty much gave up and would not return my calls/texts/voicemails for over 3 weeks even though I had already paid him a $3k deposit to perform work related to/dependent on the permits. (Keep in mind this work was part of a house being sold under contract, with impending closing date, so 3 weeks of inactivity was brutal - and every day the house sat vacant/not sold, was directly costing me more money and putting the sale at risk as well). After three weeks of trying to get in touch with Ryan, I called Brittney to try to get a refund of my deposit, who insisted I speak with Ryan first, but if I still wanted a refund she promised me she would answer my call no matter what. After speaking with Ryan, I still wanted to get my refund, but now Brittney wouldn't answer or return my calls! I ended up getting my money back, but only because I submitted a dispute through my credit card company. There's more to this story, but trying to keep it short for purposes of the review. I ended up doing the work to obtain the permits myself (drawings, plans, working with the City, etc), and I found another contractor to do the work, who was great, and charged about half as much and did more than what Ryan was going to do. • According to 2017 ORS 701.312, he had 10 days to return the deposit after I made a reasonable demand to return the deposit. Failing to return the deposit is grounds for probation. • Oregon.gov website indicates that written contracts are required on residential structures that exceed $2,000 (Ryan never created a contract and therefore I never signed a contract). Certain notices are required to be provided to the consumer and none of these were provided to me. Just all around bad.

AI can't say enough about this company! After discussing the jobs, I received a detailed bid, and a calendar that laid out what would be done, and when. Also, I always knew who would be in my home. Bryan, the owner helped me with design, and where to buy my appliances and fixtures. Ben is a true craftsman, who takes pains to do everything right. Ben and his assistant, Brian left my home tidy and locked up at the end of every day. Every person, such as plumber or electrician were excellent. I have used contractors and handymen several times over the years, and I have to say, they are the best I have ever worked with. I highly recommend them! Worth every penny!

AI chose Kitchen Concepts because of the good reviews on Angie’s List and because Dave Warren was able to show through computer assisted drawings what the kitchen would look like under different scenarios given the existing dimensions of the kitchen. Dave provided the cabinets and countertops but the remodel work was performed by Ed and his crew, who Dave has associated with for years. The kitchen turned out well, with new flooring, appliances, cabinets with soft close hinges, and beautiful quartz countertops. It was a huge improvement for a kitchen that had not been remodeled in 20 years. Based on the good results on the kitchen, I contracted them to remodel the rest of the house, which meant remodeling three bathrooms, updating a living room, five bedrooms, a family room, entryway, stairway, and hall. It also involved a structural change in moving the entryway closet to an otherwise unused space under the stairwell, freeing up space to enlarge the master bathroom. There is new flooring in all areas of the house. The bathrooms and all parts of the house look beautiful. I especially like the new doors, door frames, and molding throughout the house. Working with Dave and Ed was great, and I would recommend them to anyone who needs remodeling work.
