AJR Insulation DrywallThis is an update to an existing review. Angieslist won't let me update the old one. The original work had a few issues. Javier contacted me and offered to fix the ceiling at a discounted rate. The crew did a great job and now the ceiling has no strange lines or warping. Javier definitely follows up on any issues and makes them right.- Gabriel P.

ABSC General Contractors IncBryan was great to work with. His pricing was within my budget and he was great about detailing all of the costs so I could make an informed decision. I had new bamboo flooring installed throughout the house and had the kitchen remodeled. Bryan was good about identifying any issues ahead of time. His communication was great and we ended up having limited and small change orders as a result. Great experience!- Matthew F.

ASUN DOG CONSTRUCTIONThe project went just great. The Sundog crew discovered wiring where it shouldn't be, and was able to quickly reconfigure upstairs lighting in two different locations and still the the project done on time. This is the third time (maybe fourth?) that we've asked Sundog Construction to help get a project completed, and every time it's been a success. Plus, we like the crew. They're cool, super competent, fast, and easy people to have inside your living space.- Chris B.

AArtistic D-Zine Construction Inc.D was Awesome! before even giving a quote for the work D did more due diligence than any of the other of many contractors we contacted. He looked through the crawlspace and even (with permission) carefully took apart some existing siding to discover that the wall behind it was solid concrete. He helped us think of problems that might arise during the project and how to deal with them in advance so that there would be fewer surprises. D has an eye for detail and put in extra work at no charge to fix up some things that weren't in the original bid in order for the finished work to be perfect. D worked hard and got things done quickly and professionally. I definitely recommend him and expect to have him do more work on my house in the future.- Leior V.

ARC Maintenance & Painting, LLCGreat! RC Maintenance was selected by our insurance when we had a water leak. After everything was removed and dried out, they repaired the drywall, painted everything, installed new LVP throughout the main floor, and put back all the trim. They showed up when they said they would and were always available for questions. We hired them again 6 months later to update our kitchen - painted the cabinets, had countertops installed and put up a new tile backsplash. We couldn't be happier. Again, they were always available to answer our questions and the quality of work was wonderful. I know we will hire them for any and all of our future projects.- Dan & Terri W.

AExcellent service from start to finish. Amadou, the owner, gave us a bid for roofing and siding work that was hard to accurately estimate because the extent of the water damage could not be seen until the siding was removed. Amadou was very upfront about revising the bid once the extent of the damage could be determined. We thought the initial estimate was very fair and the additional cost was also very reasonable. The side garage door replacement work was also reasonably priced and the work was great. Amadou’s communication throughout the project was excellent and his workers were very friendly and professional. Lo’s does great work at affordable prices and are honest and dependable. We will definitely hire them again.

AThe project Wonderman completed for us was, at its core, a re-piping project for the 2nd floor of our home. Two years ago, we had a leak on the 1st floor that educated us about the fact that the pipes inside our walls were all PVC, a cheap option used in the 1990s that is doomed to fail. Our homeowner’s insurance covered the three-month remediation when the leak occurred but did not cover replacement of the PVC plumbing – that cost was ours alone. We didn’t have enough $$ to re-pipe the whole house then, and we didn’t want to extend the time we were in a hotel with our 2 cats. So, we only re-piped the 1st floor during the original remediation. Now, two years later, it was time to re-pipe the 2nd floor. We intended to re-hire the same company that our insurance adjuster hired 2 years ago to finish the re-pipe project and to add a couple of upgrades while the bathroom walls were open. But, when we got the bid estimate from that company (a general contractor), the re-piping project cost was so high that not only was there no way to pay for any upgrades, but also the bid cut corners on the re-piping method to meet our budget. For example, it proposed that some of the new plumbing run along the ceiling on the inside of our home, not between the walls, so that there was less destruction and repair of walls to do, and so that a tub/shower surround did not have to be replaced by a new tub and tile surround. That estimate was so disappointing that we decided to seek other bids in case we could at least get the re-piping done between the walls for a reasonable price. We thought about trying to be our own general contractor, by hiring a plumber and a construction repair guy separately and trying to organize their schedules ourselves. Although less expensive, that was too daunting. We wanted a hybrid between a subcontractor and a general contractor – more reasonably priced, still highly skilled, and able to coordinate with one other subcontractor (a plumber) to ensure that the project got done promptly. After combing through dozens of reviews on Angie’s List, and meeting with 3-4 possible options, we found what we wanted in Wonderman. Raoul came to bid the project, and my impression was that he is a strong combination of capable, no nonsense, knowledgeable and articulate. He offered to handle the project either way – as the construction subcontractor (and he would recommend a good plumber), or as the general contractor. He said it would cost more to act as the general contractor, because coordination takes time and time is money. But it was clear that we could save money if we bought any parts and hardware we wanted to have installed (other than the pex pipes that would be provided). His bid to complete the re-piping project as general contractor did not involve any corner-cutting and was substantially less than the other company’s bid. So much so that additional upgrades were affordable, which he was willing and able to do. For the same price the other company was charging to do the job halfway, Wonderman would do the job 100% right and also complete upgrades that would let us SEE some improvement, not just have invisible improvements inbetween the walls. Raoul was willing to restrict work days to the days my husband does not work his graveyard shifts – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday -- so my husband could sleep days he had night shifts He and his workers and subcontractors were on time, clean and respectful. (One minor concern was that no one wore masks, but we never insisted on it, either.) The project lasted from July 14th through August 27th, with a total of 22 work days. Raoul, Gus, or the plumber or tile subcontractor (or a combination) were always reliably at our house between 7:30 – 8:30 AM. They took only a ½ hour lunch, always at noon. They typically left at 3pm, but on some days when they had to stay late to complete something so that the next thing could begin the next day, they stayed up until 6pm. They worked hard the whole time they were there. There were a few notable challenges that they met superbly. One was matching our hand-brocaded ceiling pattern when they repaired holes made to insert new pipes. Gus figured out how to match a pattern that even real estate appraisers in the past had said would be impossible to match. The company we had two years ago (that was so expensive…) couldn’t match it at all. It was like Gus was a “wonderman.” 😊 Another challenge was my request for a pass-through window in a partial wall in the master bathroom, to let the sun through to the vanity area from a real window on the other side of the partial wall. When the drywall was torn off, it was apparent that the partial wall was filled with closely placed studs, pipes, and electrical wiring. It appeared impossible to fit a pass-through in that would allow for any standard sized glass shelves. Raoul figured it out, though, and made it very beautiful. Another challenge was the 3/4” thick glass shower door I bought to have installed. Raoul had to add wood to studs in the wall to ensure it was installed in a way that would not be compromised over time, but he did it with a smile. Another challenge was creating a vent to the roof for a bathroom exhaust fan that had never originally been in the master. It took an extra day to figure out, but they did it very well. While I can’t say that communication was perfect, I can say that it was immensely better than the communication we’ve had with other contractors and subcontractors, both ourselves and on behalf of our parents. I got about 75 – 80% of my email and text questions answered, within 12-24 hours. Raoul was always professional and friendly, and accommodated add-on requests for work up to the very end. We are beyond thrilled with the final results. See the before and after pictures. I recommend Wonderman whole-heartedly. If you are seeking an honest, reasonably priced, skilled person for anything from handyman work to general contracting, I don’t think you can do better than Wonderman. We will absolutely hire him again for all of our future projects.

AHigh-quality work and an affordable price to replace/repair a section of ceiling sheetrock in our kitchen, along with retexturing to match the existing ceiling. You can't tell even tell the work was done after painting. The work was done by Scott's sons, one of whom, Eryn, was my primary contact. Great, friendly customer service even for a small job. Will definitely be the first company we contact for a bigger sheetrock job coming up.

ADerek came out to provide an estimate for damage caused by a water leak inside the fridge. He was highly professional and spent a lot of time analyzing the damage, taking moisture measurements to determine the physical extent of the affected area, and talking me through the process. It was a toss up between hiring WRS and another company, and we ended up going with the other. I would not hesitate to call WRS again in the future.
