Septic Tank Cleaning reviews in Eugene

Both guys were prompt and kept us informed of when they thought they would arrive. The drain cleaner guy spent an hour locating and digging down to the septic tank. He cleaned the inlet to the tank so water would flow better. He didn't think it would be beneficial to clean the drain lines. He said he didn't want to have to charge us the extra fee since the drains weren't the real problem. The septic pump guy was able to come in and get his job done quickly because the tank was already exposed. I was very happy with their service. The only thing I would ask is that, next time, I would like for them to replace the soil over the septic tank.

    EarthBuster

It was fantastic! My drain field was installed in the mid 70's. After years of living in the house I noticed that the drain field was slow to drain and progressively getting worse. I called EarthBuster and they showed up promptly, and happy to help. With in minutes of starting the job on my drain field it quickly began to work as it should brand new! The work that they do was non invasive to my yard and they finished the job quickly. EarthBuster met and exceeded all of my expectations. They are quick to respond, very courteous, professional, and economical. Their estimate was spot on and only a fraction of the cost of having my drain field replaced. After they completed the job EarthBuster called me about 2 weeks later to see if I was experiencing any issues. I was impressed with the phone call and happy to report that I was not having any issues. It has been over a year and a half now since they came out to perform their service and I am still happy to report that I am not having any issues.

The tanker showed up on time and ready to go. They opened it, showed me everything I was curious about, including how to check the level myself. They described my tank and field to the best of their ability, based on their experiences. The tank took extra time to empty, over the one hour labor they allocate for the normal job. The cleaner charged me only an extra $30 for the extra 15 minutes. I was able to pay with a credit card. Very professional, very friendly, very experienced. Highly recommended.

These guys are Johnny-on-the-spot. They even got to one of my houses within a few hours last winter when we had the big freeze and everybody's pipes busted to shut the water off, and then came back later to fix the pipe. They check in with tenants, are jovial and courteous, and give their honest opinions on what will work and what needs to be done. I have used them for 6-8 year on a variety of repairs and projects, and I can't really say enough good things about them.

    • The work was excellent! The leak was quickly detected and repaired with minimal water loss. The repair was superior to the original connection in the water pipe. The technician explained every step, replanted grass around the area and the result was pristine!

It went extremely well, communicated all of the way, met all of the requested timelines, were very respectful of tenants in the house, left the yard in very good shape.
rThe initial contact was made on a Saturday and Jeff came out that morning to look at the job. He was professional, precise, and did everything he said he would do.

Called before service appointment to ask if they could come earlier as they had an opening -- nice for my schedule.  They arrived promptly after the call.  Quickly set up and pumped out the tanks.  Left area clean.  We discussed schedule for next pumping based on occupancy of our house and size of tanks.  Appreciated their service and concern--it had been a long time since I'd had the tanks pumped and they were very full.

Jeff's crew came out and located the lid to my septic tank in a timely manner. They  Explained to me what they were doing and how the system work. All looked good. Great Job. Thanks

The company was able to respond quickly to an urgent problem with our septic tank. The service technician was polite and professional. Our issue is with the company's pricing practice. They charge a $195 service charge (which includes the first hour of labor). They gave us a $25 discount off the service charge without us menitioning Angie's List at all, so not sure what value the coupon is. Their labor rate is $120/hour - but don't know how that compares in the industry.
We had an electrical connection that shorted out our pump, which prompted our service need. Discussing the situation with the technician we opted to have our electrical connections moved from inside the tank riser to an external splice box. The technician thought they had the splice box in stock, but didn't and had to order it. When the part came a week later the company wanted to charge us another $195 service plus 1.5 hours of labor. I countered that if the company had had the part in stock a second service charge wouldn't have occurred. They reluctantly exchanged the service charge for a routine hour of labor (2.5 hours labor were charged, which is fair).
However, research after the fact showed that the splice box could have been purchased over the internet for as low as $66. I assume their cost was probably lower. They marked the part up to $140! Businesses often markup parts and pass the cost on to the customer, but this amounted to at least a 112% markup. Our biggest issue is with this practice. We feel this cost markup is price gouging, counting on the ignorance of the customer.
One other minor issue: where the previous conduit entered the tank riser a 1" diameter hole remained. They left without plugging this whole, which leaves the tank at risk for dirt getting into the tank. We didn't call them with this issue (it was likely just an oversight), as it wasn't worth the risk of another service charge to have someone come out with a rubber plug.
To repeat, our problem isn't with the overall quality of the service, just the pricing practice. We will seek another company for future service of our septic system.

    Best Septic Tank Pumping
.I had uncovered the septic tank access. Best serviceman arrived on time and Inspected tank. The tank was full of sludge, not much water at all, but their equipment had no problem pumping out the waste. The serviceman said that the outlet pipe needed to be replaced and said I could do it myself or he would do it for $200. Since he had the tank empty and was ready to do it, I said go ahead and replace the outlet pipe, which he did. He got a sludge hammer and jumped in the empty tank and knocked off the old outlet pipe with the sledge, then installed a new plastic outlet pipe using wood shims. It took him 10 - 15 minutes to do this. Since this was on the outlet end of the tank, I really couldn't see what was going on. I would have been helpful to me if the serviceman had a digital camera and took pictures of the situation and the work performed.
The serviceman accurately calculated the amount of waste removed (less than 500 gal) and determined it was less than they had anticipated (1000 gal), so they gave me  a ($85) price reduction. He also made notes regarding the location of the tank for future service calls. The time on site was less than 2 hours.
All in all I thought the price, service, personal interaction and efficiency was very good. I will be using them again.
