I asked for a BID, and was quoted $750. After the work was done (which left over-cuts around two switch plates, requiring unnecessary drywall repairs, and time spent on unauthorized work), I received an invoice for almost double my quote. When I called their office I was told that they didn't BID the work, that I had asked for a ROUGH ESTIMATE only and they worked on a time and materials basis. I spent over 40 years in the residential construction business, 15 of those, managing the regional purchasing department of a national builder; I don't get ROUGH ESTIMATES, I get BIDS! Even then, double the estimate is a VERY ROUGH ESTIMATE! (I could estimate better at 10 years old!) I was able to negotiate the invoice down some with the owner, but still paid substantially more that I was quoted, and more than I had other bids for the work. Then, over a month later, I got an e-mail from their estimator, saying that a quote he had previously given me for other work was "null and void" and I should find another electrician if I needed other work done! Of all the nerve !!!

I am always cautious of "the most competitive bid."  In the circumstance, however, I could not imagine finding a more courteous and competent provider.  Murphy showed up at 8am as promised; three trucks and 4 men.  By 3:30 pm. the job was complete, including clean-up.  The work was done in a neat and most professional manner.  Only one change was made to the contract while the work was in progress, and that was at my request for some additional switching.  I was given a fair quote for the added work, and approved it in advance.
Will use this contractor again, and highly recommend them.

Pat promptly returned my call to set up an estimate appointment.  Brian arrived on time, less than 24 hours after first call, to do estimate.  Very courteous and professional, and had my estimate back to me within an hour.  He was very flexible about scheduling the actual work.  Team arrived on time, calling first that morning to pinpoint their arrival time.  They were very receptive to my input on location of outlets, etc.  Work was completed in a timely manner, looks great and provided exactly what I needed.  I can't imagine a better job performance.  Very professional, respectful and efficient.  New to the area, I have definitely found my electricians.

John did the bidding and Darrel did most of the work. Darrel was very courteous and was always willing to talk about the job and go over the challenges of the job. He did a really good work  in the base electrical needs
Some of the new electrical code requirements are difficult to deal with. If we do not want an outlet, does the code really require actual placement of the outlet at a certain spot. Also, the new  circuit breakers are stupid! A vacuum cleaner should not trip a breaker when it is the only thing plugged into the circuit. We continue to have this problem, not fun in a new house.

The work done by the tech was pretty good. He was very nice, and worked quickly. I thought it was strange that the company decided to bill me, instead of just charging me on the spot (especially since this wasn't a complicated job). Upon receiving the bill, I was surprised that it charged me for 1.5 hours of time, when I know for a fact that he was here exactly 60 minutes (almost on the dot), as I noted when he got here and when he left my house. When you are paying $80 an hour, that adds up.
The second, and more minor thing that annoyed me was how much they charge for Oregon Minor Labor permits. Don't get me wrong, I know it's needed and have no problem paying the actual cost for me, but they shouldn't be selling permits to make a hefty profit. Per the Oregon Building Codes division, contractors are charged $140 for 10 label permits. This company charged me $30 for one....when the actual cost is $14. Over double markup!
These two things gave me a real sour taste in my mouth, so I will not be recommending this company to anymore. I don't appreciate being nickel and dimed at every opportunity.

Excellent, A very professional attitude and a perfectionist. We were unsure of exactly what we wanted and Travis, because of his experience in customizing homes, guided us in our choices resulting in a special room and not just a "sun porch". We have now hired him to remodel other portions of our home.
