I was experiencing very slow internet service. I could not download info without my computer freezing up. I first called my internet provider who checked the modem and cable. They checked out fine and the provider said the problem was probably a bad ethernet (internet) card. I then called Friendly Computer who sent a technician the next day. The person was courteous and professional. He confirmed ...

A disaster. See above.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
My computer had a virus that was making it very slow. I was "living" with it for awhile because I was too busy to call (with travel, etc). The virus was not hurting my programs so I put off calling a repair person. Well I called Friendly on Thursday afternoon and they were able to get a tech out that night. The tech arrived and "cleaned up" my computer for about 2 hours. When I went to check on him, I realized he had WIPED OUT my itunes account (approximately 600 songs and a movie), other music downloads, a TON of important saved documents in my folders in my inbox, and disabled all my office software. He then proceeded to tell me it "wan't his fault" and that he "did not erase anything" and that it was"impossible" for him to have erased files....he did not have the "ability" to do that.......What?!! So he said he went as far as he could go and then proceeded to hand me a bill for almost $200......I was STUNNED to say the least. I refused to pay him and told him it was time for him to leave. As of today, my computer is TOTALLY messed up. It is still running very slow and I have lost all my itunes (I am working with Apple to try to get them back) PLUS I don't think I will EVER recover the lost documents and I need to get another tech out here to try and restore/enable all my programs. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

SERVICE PROVIDER RESPONSE

Customer did not have a copy of windows XP and didn't want to buy one either, we couldn't format in that situation, which I explained she needed. But without an original copy of XP it is illegal for us to reinstall. So I cleaned it up, tried a new user, the new user worked a lot better, so I created a new user for her, moved the mail files, address book file, docs, favorites, music, just like I do...

Our computer died on a Sunday morning. We called a few places, and Friendly had the best rates and offered to come pick up the CPU. They confirmed the power supply needed to be ordered and replaced. I picked up the fixed CPU on Friday. They had added an hour of "cleaning up hard drive of spyware" to the bill, but I didn't complain. Then we plugged it in at home. The computer worked great but REEKE...

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Replaced Power Supply for CPU. Cleaned up hard drive of spyware and viruses.
